A Fill In MMP

Am I interpreting this correctly: You had fun in your dream despite my presence? :dubious:

[Charlie Brown voice]I got a rock.[/CBV]

Mornin’ y’all. Caffeinating presently, and avoiding brekkie today. I eat the same old thing for dietary purposes, and I’m getting burned out on it.

ETA: damned post button

I go see the sveltification surgeon after work for a routine 2-1/2 year followup. Also, I have to stop at the wholesale club afterwards to forage for stuff to feed Da Rugrat when he comes tomorrow.

Carry on.

I spoke and celebrated to soon…my heat was not working last night. No matter what I did it would not kick on.

Arse

Bugger

Shit

Snot
I am to tired and stressed out over this to fight anymore - I bawled on the phone to the warranty company.

:frowning:

!!!

Lawyering up time?

Must go to work. Am having a computer crisis of sorts. I went to bed and all was fine. Woke up this morning to find my settings(?) have been changed. Possible child responsible is at school and out of reach of hand of vengeance.

SDMB is now a wee little window when once it filled my screen. Same with my wallpaper. I tried to find the place to change it, but “display” only lets me stretch it out. Looks very stupid at present, and not like it did. I tried a hard boot, to no avail.
Oh, and clicking on the wee green button to make it bigger doesn’t fix the problem, either…

I can’t stand this. The FONT is bigger, too, which also makes no sense. I suspect disgruntled cyber elves, but if this was Daughter, I will be mad. Can’t stay, off to work, and also trying to use the computer while the screen looks like this is driving me bonkers. Please send food and emergency supplies. Ta.

Screen resolution?

Geez, now everyone and everything is making New Years Resolutions these days.

Thanks, Swampy! I think I’ll only make a 1/2 batch though… I’m also having bbq meatballs and a shrimp ring. That should tide them over until dinner, which will be ham, sweet potato casserole, asparagus, and corn souffle. And maybe a green salad. And crescent rolls. I haven’t decided on dessert yet. Maybe a lemon curd tart?

Boo for no heat, Ems! What the hell is wrong with these people??!!!

Rigs, screen resolution sounds like the answer to me, but I am extremely non-technical…

But when I do that, it just makes things fuzzy. I seem to have two margins I didn’t ask for–on each side. I went into help and it wasn’t helpful. This happened once before and I fixed it, that’s part of the maddening part of all this–I can’t remember how. It’s a MacBook. The little arrowy type thing in the far right corner doesn’t move–the “margin” won’t let it expand past the margin.

I am late now. Thanks for the help. Stoopit computer. Stoopit kids. Grrrr.

Good Googly-Moogly, ems! It is definitely Time to Get Stabby with those people. I’d recommend my heating/ac guys, but…you know…continent betwixt us and all. Stupid landmass.

Thanks for all the good thoughts about my school situation. I’m heading over there first of the year to talk to the Department Goddess, She Who Knows All, about what’s up. I know I can’t make any more C’s, but if I have to, I’ll retake the class–without Crazydanka Idiotva teaching. Bitch be crazy. Although I do have to (wo)man up and admit that due to my October Slump, I did slack off a bit in that class.

Ironically, the class I was freaked out worried about I got an A in. :smack:

In the good news department, I got hold of my friend Kate* last night and we made plans to go Moravian Lovefeastin’ on Christmas Eve. Ain’t no feast like a Lovefeast. And it’ll keep me and my Oldest Sister from doing the “Are you going to the Baptist services this year?” “No” dance we do each year.

(*Star of a past Pit thread about her reaction to a bad situation with her fiance. They’ve worked out their problems. He’s doing much better out of the Navy, too.)

I’m sure this has been addressed by now, but swampy is a Whiskeypelian, and their guiding credo is, “Where there’s four, there’s always a fifth.”

Whoops! Got some program updates to do, which means restarting the computer. Be back soon.

Mawnin! It is Mump Day! Yay!! Just two more days till vaca!

Feel better, kai!

rigs, are you using an apple mighty mouse?

ems, that just bites!

Appropriate comments to all others.

We are warming up, thank Og! It will be very pleasant for the rest of the week. I think there’s another cold front coming along though.

That is all.

Tupug

Mornin’. Caffeinating. Monday III: The Paininator is about to commence. Yesterday broke records – at least for me it did. I am hoping that this trend does not continue into today. Wednesdays are usually one of the quieter days, but given the way things have been going so far “quieter” will probably turn out to be strictly relative – as in I might not quite hit 200 calls. (It may not sound like a lot, but with an average call length of 2 minutes – with some more complicated tech or parts calls lasting upwards of 10 or more – plus my other duties here, it really is.)

Thank Og we’ve got a break coming up.

Roo/Pie/Lunch[sup]*[/sup] - Y’know, if you three keep this up we’re going to have to do something about it. Like get the camcorder.

[sub] And DV discs. Lots of DV discs.[/sub]

Swampy - Now, I’m not one for cheesy baked things unless there’s pasta involved (cheese bread is yuck unless it’s still melty and there’s lots of garlic and Parmesan cheese along with it), but those sound … kinda good actually. I wonder how they’d taste baked with garlic and Parmesan?

Rigs - Computer elves, indeed. Here, try this:

A) Minimize whatever windows you have open so you can see your desktop.
B) Right-click on your desktop and select “Properties” from the resulting context menu.
C) On the window that pops up from that, click on the “Settings” tab at the top on the right.
D) Here is where you set your screen resolution, which you probably know already, but just in case, here you can set the screen resolution to whatever is most comfortable to you.
E) What you may not know is to click on the Advanced button on the bottom right, and on the General tab of the following screen, make sure that the dropdown menu is set to “Normal size (96 DPI)”.
D) Click “OK”
E) If that didn’t solve the problem, click on the “Appearance” tab and under the “Font size” dropdown menu (bottom one) make sure it says “Normal.” If it doesn’t, drop the menu down and select it.
F) If that doesn’t work, go to the supply closet and get the thing that most closely resembles a hammer…

Ugh. Phone rings and rings and rings … must go once again.

[sub]* Hee. Roo Pie for Lunch. D’oh! Now I’m doing it.[/sub]

Glad to see others are collecting Husbands. Mr. Lissar did have a harem, but they’ve all married off and declined to be married to more than one person at a time. Ridiculous.
Ow. This tea is hot.
It’s a grey, go-back-to-sleep kind of day. I will valiantly stay awake and do some Christmas sewing. And maybe scrub the bathtub. Yawn.

Good that you’re calming down, Spaz.

Good things are happening in Faerieland today! I had a follow-up meeting with Tin Knickers this morning during which she found out the extent of my unhappiness with her comments on my performance development form. Luckily she quickly realised the error of her ways and re-wrote it to my satisfaction.

Then I found out that Don Twanna (who goes on maternity leave on Friday) isn’t coming back to work in our team when she returns, they want a full-time body here so she’s being shunted into Academic Quality instead.

Then 'im indoors emailed to say that his meeting with his agents has been cancelled for tonight so we will be able to go to the pub after all.

Now all I have to do is decide whether I want to go to the Newhampton or the Posada. What a tough one!

LiLi - I don’t want to have a collection of husbands, I got rid of the only one I’ve ever had 'cos he was a nasty pasty and really, 'im indoors is as much as I can put up with. In fact, he’s frequently more than flesh and blood can stand.

Morning Mumpers! The dog is walked, the litterbox cleaned, and I had a bowl of oatmeal. If I didn’t have to go to work, I’d say it’s the start of a good day. I must buy some groceries at some point, or eat Beneful 3 times a day.

mmmmm, I’d second the lawyer thing. These people are nincompoops.

My Starbucks Mocha cooled off while I was busy elsewhere. It’s still yummy when cold.

That is all I have to report at this time. Updates to follow.

Morning, all.

First, I think it’s time to go medieval on their asses, mmmms. This is ridiculous. You go raise some holy hell, young lady!

Sorry you don’t feel good, kai. Take care of yourself and get well soon, okay?

I’m staying out of the overnight friskies that keep happening around here. Except I think Lunch is trying to get in some extra friskin’ since he’s going to be gone for a week.

I was so PO’d about being led to believe I had to have that job done yesterday and thus half killing myself to try and get it done, only to find out they didn’t need it till today after all, that I said a pox on all their houses and crawled in bed early and fell asleep even earlier. And slept late this morning. They’ll get it when they get it, by golly!

Papa Tigs went back to work today; I’m not sure how he got to be the designee, but there’s a third grade class coming to present something or other, and he’s the selected [de]victim[/del] volunteer to do the dog-and-pony-show thing with them. So he felt like he needed to be there, since he’d confirmed yesterday afternoon with the teacher that he would. Here’s hoping he didn’t push himself and go in too soon; he usually does that when he’s been sick. :frowning:

Okay, back to caffeine and work, in that order.

Blah. Sucky busy day. Back to work.

Remind me next year to be more careful in my xmas present shopping. Two or three months ago, we picked up some stained glass dealies at Faire. Scroll forward to now - time to ship them off to our respective mothers.

Let’s see… Fragile? Yes. Funny shape? Yep. Exists in one inert shape? Nope. Too many cute dangly bits. Came with any semblance of packing materials? Bubble wrap’s not period, bub.

Guess who was up until 11:30 trying to figure out a way to box the things so the dangly bits don’t bang into each other on their cross-country voyage? At least they’ll now survive the FedEx standard attempts at destruction. I pack things expecting that the shipper will play football with them and drop them off at least one loading dock.

DH is still sick and the mortgage is still unpaid. :frowning:
