A Fill In MMP

:smack: :smack:

I forgot to include birthday wishes for Mrs. Busguy? Belated, though they are, happy birthday to her!

Also, I hope the shoulder issue works out. That doesn’t sound good…or fun.

Well, back to looking through pantry and freezer so I can figure out what I should cook for dinner.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SCOUT & TAXI!!!

And Happy Eid to Dotty! Rebo, that was so very nice of you and in the true spirit of Christmas. Swampy, your Mom definitely has me beat! laughs I’ve made a batch of tollhouse cookies so far, with a batch of oatmeal scotchies to go later on. Tomorrow, I’ll bake some more cookies and the pecan pie (thanks again, LemmeOut!). Oh yeah, my daughter made some “short-cut” lasagna last week–we had big round ricotta-filled raviolis, and put it together with them, a meat sauce, and mozzarella and parmesan cheeses. Boy, was it good!

We’re sitting here watching The Wizard of Oz (which I’ve only seen like a bazillion times … I could possibly recite just about every line in it …LOL). It’s been a good day. The store wasn’t too bad when I was there, about 1 PM; I think I’ve got all the ingredients I need now, and if not, oh well! Enjoy your evening, folks.

Should I stay in, watch movies, and eat blackberry cobbler topped with whipped cream? Or call friends and see if anyone’s up for booze?

Decisions, decisions.

I have good news and I have bad news.

The bad news: the calendars will not be done this year–they can’t print some of the pics (too small) and then I have to resize the others. I have about as much patience with this nonsense as Cheyney does for homeless people, so I have hereby declared this Christmas Project defunct. That left me with 4 gifts to buy.

The good news: took care of my side of the family with Amazon and Smith & Hawken. That leaves inlaws. I have decided to just look at this one funky garden store (if it’s open tomorrow), and if nothing jumps up and says, Yes! Buy me!, then I’ll get the whirlygig I found on Amazon.

I’m having all of them shipped direct. For some reason, I could not get Amazon to gift wrap the stuff. Whatever. It’s done (or almost). I called my family, explained and told them to consider them epiphany gifts. They were all fine with it. It’s HIS side of the family that will Not Be Pleased. I’m quaking in my boots at the thought. :dubious:

Off to loll in hot tub. Pissed that the snow is all gone. It better snow and soon. I’m watching Mother Nature closely and she’d better watch her step.

Chicken boobs are baking in the oven.

I need to make some kind of starch to go with them. I guess I’d better get going on that.

Home and tired. Bad assistant may or not be gone. It’s like Schrodenger’s manager. 2 more days.

Happy Eid, Dotty!

swampy, do you need a brother for Christmas dinner? I’ll bring hunger.

Good to hear dad is doing well, mmmmm.

Happy Festivus!

doggio, what’s up with the second spoiler box? Am I missing something or are you just checking to see if we’re paying attention?

Haze, let me guess which one you chose. :stuck_out_tongue:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SCOUT & TAXI!!!

I also have a message from one of our missing:

He expects to be back in a week or so, but he wanted to be sure we all knew he’s thinking about us

Aww, how sweet! Merry Christmas, bbs2k!

And all the rest of the Mumpers of course.

Good Morning, Roo! It’s quiet here, isn’t it?

That was a nice note from** bbs**.

It’s very early in the morning, but TVMan and I went to be at 7:30 and I couldn’t stay in bed any longer. Also we took 2 naps yesterday before that!

Much laziness here. Ok, maybe off to doze on the couch. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hey CP! I hope you get some sleep. . . well, some regular sleep.

Yeah, it’s generally quiet about this time. Most people are sleeping by now. And I hope to be as well in a few.

It’s now officially Sunday here, so Happy Sunday everyone. . .Christmas eve eve, I guess.

Howdy all. Drive-by while I race around trying to get Christmas organised. Hope you are all well …

::waving as she goes by::

It’s a Festivus pole. I need to order one for next year.

I knew what it was doggio. I’m smrt and all.

Ol’ y’all know who is on his way to West Alabammy. We didn’t get all tipsy last night because of his gettin’ up to drive. It’s kinda icky out. I hope he ain’t in rain all the way, poor thing. It’s a looooooong drive made worse if’n it rains the whole way. So, here I sit caffienatin’. Soon I’ll get ready for churchification.

In answer to how many people is my mother feeding… hmmmm… around sixteen AIR. Plus, sis is doin’ part of the dinner which means I’ll be doin’ part of the dinner cause sis will draft me to do stuff. Ok, she bribes me with beer, so I guess it’s win-win there.

Howdy to bbs2k and Merry Christmas/Whatever!

Up and caffeinating. My son is off to church (!)–he attends a Methodist college and goes to chapel every Sunday there. Two batches of cookies (tollhouse & scotchies) were baked last night; today will be the pecan pie and another batch or two of cookies. Yes, I sampled the batters, but only a pinch or two…or three. Those oatmeal scotchies are some -good- cookies, btw.

Happy belated birthday, Mrs.BusGuy!!

Caffeine consumption is in progress. Dinner was nice last night! I had steak and lobster, very nummy. then we dropped Dad off at home and went out for a couple of drinks and played trivia. He beat me! That is unusual. Then we came home and Mr Rebo proceeded to fall asleep in his chair, poor baby. He had to get up early yesterday so we could go get the tiller. He’s sleeping in this morning, if I can keep the dogs from barking too much.

It’s coooolllldddd here! We got a front in, and the news says it’s 33°F. I hope my plants didn’t freeze! It was only supposed to be about 38°.

Have a good Christmas Eve eve, y’all!

Morning. Got to haul Mr. Lissar out of bed in a few minutes. It’s warm and rainy here.

We saw The Golden COmpass yesterday. It was okay, but I wasn’t very impressed. Which is too bad, because it’s my favourite book of the series. Oh, well.

doggio, that Festivus pole made me laugh. Simple, yet utilitarian!

This’ll probably be my last post here until the actual new year (I declared the old year dead dead DEAD yesterday). I’ll be off gallivanting across the Great North State doing things. (Not THINGS!) When I get back, there will be a shiny new DVD that I can’t wait to watch waiting for me.

I suppose if Minneapolis can have a statue of Mary Richards then . . .

Morning, all. I slept late again, on purpose; the bed was warm, the cat was snuggly, and the Idiots had been fed a special meal (a spoonful of [canned] doggie Turducken atop their kibble) so were snoring in their beds (or on the sofa, whichever is appropriate), and all was well with the world. Plus I couldn’t think of a good reason to get up. Which is too bad – Papa Tigs said we had a pea-soup fog early this morning; he couldn’t even see Nice Neighbor’s house directly across the street! I love a good pea-soup fog (as long as I’m not driving in it), so I’m sorry to have missed it.

Love the Festivus pole, and love the photos! Clearly people have a lot of fun with Festivus. Which is as it should be!

You know, Herbs, since I’m in the next county over, we really need to Do Lunch or something one of these days. It seems a little silly that I’m so nearby and yet we’ve never met.

It’s getting quieter and quieter around here. Too many people abandoning us for the holidays, I guess. How could people put the families before us? I mean, aren’t we important, too?

Okay, off to caffeinate some more since I’m practically babbling this morning.
