A Fishin’ we will go. MMP

Loune I’m all  too over your comment about our Taters. Also about LL. I mean, I’ve met Taters and I can tell you she is anything but bitchy. She’s just a big ol’ sweetie. And I thought LL welcomed you with all the enthusiasum of a nice hot bath myself. 'Splain yourself.

Heh. It occurred to me that the reason he said they didn’t have a bathroom was that he did not understand what I said. He had a pretty thick accent.

Thankfully BSMF was right behind me in the potty line.

Believe me, 5 more minutes and I would have peed in my pants.

For the record, the brownies are yum. They don’t help the sore throat a lot, but they didn’t hurt!

Ashes, Ashes!!! Look!!! It’s Ashes! Yay!

Is it bad that it didn’t take me long to figure out why things were supposed to be carefully enunciated? I think this place has had a certain influence on me.

Your tech person probably said you need to re-load Windows. Cuz it deteriorates over time and things slow down and you start to get the blue screen of death and…

Drae, I have given my innards a stern talking-to. I informed them that they are never never ever to develop anything that will require any of those procedures you just talked about cuz they are all just yuck. (Yeah, like I’m in charge…)

Oh, and I recognized the quote, too. Makes me want to go back and see that episode. Might just do that while I’m doing other stuff tonight.

Glad Taters is feeling better.

I think that we need a general MMP retirement program. The youngsters can all work to support all of us oldsters and eventually more youngsters will come along and support them and we’ll all live in the sunshine somewhere and… Sounds like a plan to me!

Well, off to watch the German news and then maybe an episode of Firefly or something. Not sure yet what else is on the plate. I just had four quesadillas for dinner. Guess I should have some fruit too.

Didn’t get home till shortly after 7, so the evening is going quickly… arghhhhh.

Back later.

GT

Yay! My niece-in-law’s water broke! yay!
(and i the labor lasts more than four hours, I win the pool, too)

Aw GT you can’t get rid of me. Like mealyworm, I’m always there even if you can’t see me. Look at the time and I just now get around to mentioning Me! I have small news and horrible awful bad news. Both newses are interchangeable depending upon your perspective. One news is that I was sick this week-- all I did was sleep from friday to today. Now it looks like I’ll live but I’m all shaky and dizzy and weak.

That re-istall stuff you wrote doesn’t compute. I’d have to get a new thingy of windows because my old one is tired? How is that possible? It’s not like I used it up! It’s not shampoo!

The other news is that some beast hit my brand new car! A 1000 bucks worth of smashing over the right front tire and so I drive home and pull into my space and manage to scrape the miror on that side. Why do I not have rental covered as well as towing, I know better! Don’t even have the plates on it yet and it’s ker-powed.

Now to get off-line and make some phone calls.

well, they sent her back home, apparently she wasn’t ready. But once the water breaks, it’s only a matter of hours, right? All you mommies, tell me. How long after your water broke did you go into ‘final’ labor?

My 'splainin consists of the sarcasm that’s ever-so hard to convey through a keyboard and computer screen. If I offended, then many apologies, a bushel of the bestest chcolate to you, and I’ll even give you a good backrub to go along with the bath…
…not necessarily with me IN the bath too.
Um, FCMO , I might qualify as “young eye candy”. So, where’s the long-stemmed ostrich feather contraption that I’m supposed to fan you with?
…let’s just not feed me to the wild aminals when you take over this joint, mmmkay?

Oof, that’s a Big Ball of Suck right there. Were you parked on the street? Please tell me they weren’t on their cell phone…

On the other hand, it’s not a bad base for a story…now you’ve gotta tell the insurance people that the impact broke the frame of the Picasso that was in your trunk.
if that works, by the way, i get 10%

:smack: forgot to include LL in with people I May Have Offended.
We don’t pillory people around here, do we? Cause, if’n we do…I most certainly want no part of it. And if we DID, I don’t wanna be the reason we go back to it…

It really depends on how nice your posterior is…

“sand in your vagina” is not a politically correct phrase.

“Sex on the beach” is the preferred euphemism. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hmmmm, I never considered the ostrich feather thingies - interesting. But, pardon me for being ooogied out - you’re younger than my daughter and while I like eye candy, there’s something beyond “vaguely creepy” about such a scenario.

So, a special deal for you. You can gather and stack the sticks and branches in my yard (it was a windy winter) and I will be your mentor. I will share the wisdom of my years, help guide you along life’s paths, and smack you upside your head when you do something stupid. And someday when you’ve achieved success in your chosen career, you can invite me to all your awards and promotion ceremonies and I can be the honorary “fun” aunt to all of your children.

And, no, that doesn’t mean I’ll buy you a car, so don’t ask.

My fun meter will be pegged today for sure - I get to go to the dentist! Envy me, one and all!! I think it’s been about 3 years (I’m so ashamed…) And yesterday’s bean soup will be tonight’s dinner. FCD was way late yesterday, so we met for a sammich while the soup was still simmering. Which is fine - it’ll taste better today anyway. He’s apt to be late today, too - he had to go to Hunt Valley, which is north of Baltimore - probably 2.5 hours from home. I have no idea when he’ll get back.

Loune you are forgiven my child. Go and sin no more. See, I woulda made a great Priest! Well, except for that pesky stuff like having to expound words of wisdom every Sunday and constantly visiting sick people and such, I woulda made a great Priest. That’s the Whiskipalian kind of Priest I’m talkin’ about. The giving of absolution and baptizing cute babies stuff I’d like.

Guess what I get to do at 3 pm today? I get to listen to a webcast about updates to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 of The Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended! Envy me! Wanna know the really sad thing about all of this? I’m actually looking forward to hearing what the presenters have to say. Why, no, actually I don’t have much of a life, thank you for asking.

Ashes[sup]2[/sup] sorry about the sickness and the car thing. Hope you’re feeling all better and that your car woes are soon over.

FCM I agree. Bean soup (any soup) is always better the next day. It needs time to mellow.

If I comment on this, then I have to supply pics…I know that’s the way we run things in puppy/kitty threads.

FCMO , youth can do that…it’s definitely capable of oogling others out. Pick up sticks? (insert whine) but there are so many!
Don’t make me pout…I WILL pout, dammit…(he says as he emails a guy about a job after graduation…)

Wile E , I know. that’s why I used it.

swampburrrr , the talk doesn’t sound THAT uninteresting. Then again, I’ve watched CSPAN and Senatorial debates in my spare time. Interest lie sin the eye of the beholder. And I can’t guarantee that I won’t sin again, by the way. Life’s a little more fun with occsaional sin.

Morning, everyone!

Welcome, Loony the newbie…

Ashes[sup]2[/sup] - I’m sorry about your car troubles. That would just bite the big one. And I hope you continue to feel better.

FCM - no getting sick! It’s not allowed! Waht kind of bean soup? I want soup.

Happy Wednesday everyone. I can’t stay long, because I have metric shittons of stuff to do today in and around the kerfluffle of a visiting professor, Mr. Rafael Sorkin of Syracuse. He’s the reason I applied to their grad program, because he’s working on what I want to work on - quantum gravity. I get to have lunch with him (along with a few other undergrads) and then his lecture is later this afternoon. And of course I have a hw assignment due today at 5, two more due tomorrow, and research work to make progress on for my professor here at RPI. Oh yeah, and I wanted to read some of Sorkin’s papers to prepare myself. This is going to be fun. So for now I leave you with the next Condiment of the Day …

rifty, this thyme you have gone too far!

ashes, what a “metric shitton” (thanks, rifty) of bad luck. Poor you! :frowning:

fcm, you are gargling with salt water, right?

swampy, be sure and come back and tell us the highlights of the web cast. Sounds just thrilling!

It’s warming up! It’s warming up! I can’t wait to go to the beach!

That’s all I got so far today.

Tupug

Spats, if you think basil is “The King of Herbs”, you clearly went to the wrong college.

Ashes, that is entirely sucky. My condolences on the car. I put an enormous dent in my first car less than a month after I got my license. It was all my fault, and I felt guilty every time I looked at that car for the next five years.

Loony, I am not oogied by your youth, you can come fan me until FCM feeds me to the wild dogs.

GT, if you like, you can give my innards a talking to, as well, because I don’t seem to be getting through to them. I’m ouchy again today, and just hoping it goes away soon.

I’d be glad to send the link to the webcast to anybody that wants it. The good part about it is I’m doing it from home cause it’s quieter there. And it counts as work time cause, well, I don’t usually sit around watching/listening to webcasts on the I.D.E.A. and Section 504 of The Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as Amended for fun. Somehow I think a couple of beers and this webcast would go well together.

Basil is a condiment? I thought he ran a hotel in England. Know what I think is a funny condiment name? Aioli. Always makes me want to say, “Ok, we’ll see you later. Aioli to you too!” Good stuff but funny name.
