A Foot Cramp MMP

Nice evening today. I forgot about the rocket launch out of Wallops Island until about 10 minutes before liftoff, so I scooted over to a nearby parking garage at a mall to watch. While I was sitting there another car pulled up and a family tumbled out, hoping to see the same thing. I had the NASA feed up on my computer so the kids got to watch liftoff then a few seconds later we saw it over the trees.

Mind you this was close to 200 miles away north of DC.

Then I interviewed them and put the lovely family on tv at 11.

Oh and as I was packing up 2 county squad cars whizzed by, flashing their overheads. They had been on another part of the garage watching too.

Is plotzing like panching? Panching is a very popular sport which consists of sitting on the sofa or other appropriate sitting-place and lovingly taking care of your pancha or belly.

Well, so much for sleeping in. Up at 0440. BLURF.

2gig, neat. Never have seen a rocket launch in person, it’s on my to-do list.

{{{Sari}}}

The only launch I ever saw I didn’t really exactly see. Just after Challenger blew up, a bunch of us ran out on the roof at work and looked at the trails from the falling boosters. It was surreal. :frowning:

I suggested to **FCD **that when he goes to test drive my bro’s car, he should take his red-n-black fuzzy dice to see how they look in the car! It won’t happen till after we get back. My bro is in Jamaica right now - he’s the company prez/CEO/big shot and he’s there with all their top salesguys from last year and assorted wives/girlfriends. He gets back some time on Firday and we leave on Sat, so some time in Nov - just in time for FCD’s 60th b-day!

**sari **- sounds like you need this cruise more than I do. Poor kitteh - sorry it didn’t work out. Here’s hoping life turns around for you right quick!

Meanwhile, it’s time to be productive… or something… Happy Tuesday!

Blurf

Blurf. I’d think of something else to say but I’m tired and I have a headache.

{{{{sari}}}} My sympathies.

Today, I get to rejoin the human race, sort of, in that I get to leave the house and go places. Then I get to do it on Thursday, and again on Monday. Coffee for Robin!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 63 Amurrkin out and mostly cloudy with a predicted high of 90 and sunny for the day. We’re close to a month into Fall and we’re havin’ early Summer temps. Go figure. I have some errands to take care of today and tonight we’re goin’ with JDD and Partner to Dawson to have dindin with JDD’s ‘rents in the nursin’ home. They’re servin’ spaghetti. I just know that will be some fine Eye-talian dinin’. It’s a thing the nursin’ home does three or four times a year and it makes JDD’s parents happy when we come and visit. So that makes it all worthwhile. Plus, no cookage of dindin tonight, so there’s that.

{{{Sari}}} hope today gets better for ya.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then I suppose I should purtify so’s I can be fit to be seen in public.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

Happy Toosday!

Well, probably not happy, but it is Toosday.

It’s a sunny 62 degrees outside, going up to 86.
A good day to give the dog a bath and trim his nails, hopefully without stressing him out too badly. We do everything we can to reduce stress on the poor old boy.

I didn’t sleep well and I’d love to go back to bed, but I have too much to do today.
We have to get groceries, and do something about the squirrels, take care of the dog. I got a throw run to cover up the damage by the bathroom door. Temp fix for now. My niece’s ex bf, the father of her two oldest, has a carpet installing business. Maybe he can cut me a break. Who knows, maybe the carpet can be stretched to cover up the damaged area.

I really don’t want to take the cat back but I don’t know what else to do. I don’t like that he hisses at Sah-son, he is the one who feeds him. You’d think he’d be nice to the one who feeds him.
Maybe he’s one of those weird cats, I used to watch a few, that would actually attack me when I tried to touch their food or water bowls. One nailed me good, blood everywhere, as I put her water bowl down. Another one I’d have to feed cattycorner across the kitchen from the last time, put down the full bowl far away from the dirty bowl, so I could pick up the dirty bowl without getting bit.

I need to get up and get busy, and FCM - I was thinking last night that I am the one who really really needs a cruise right now. Only problem is, I couldn’t enjoy it knowing I have stuff waiting for me at home.

I knew it had been too quiet and easy for too long around here.

Swampy is retired, yet he’s still mooching din-din from his friend’s parents.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. I’m off today, so I shall vacuum 6 pets worth of hair up, then go buy dog food from the feed store.

It is like 80 degrees. For October. Which is so wrong on so many various levels. In theory we will break a record today set in 1938 and for some reason its driving my sinuses nuts.

you’re not the only one, ruble. My eyes haven’t been this itchy since May

We’re supposed to be in the mid-80s today and tomorrow. Saturday’s highs will be low 60s. It’ll be a chilly trip down the bay.

I remembered to leave the car windows open this morning - otherwise my dark blue car would be like an oven come quitting time.

LUNCH TIME!! I’ve got the last of my leftover pizza - tomorrow I’ll have to make a sammich again. So hard being me… <pose of woe>

Fairy busy morning - it’s been a good day overall.

Called out today. Need to stay near a restroom.

Tugig, watching a rocket launch sounds interesting. The biggest ones that I’ve ever seen were the hobbyist type.

{{{nettie}}}

I’m officially bored today. The special project is complete and nothing else is shaking.

I’ve completed errands, had N.O.L., and had a nap. That’s quite enough excitement for a retired person for one day.

Spidey I can’t help it. I am a sucker for fine Eye-talian cuisine.

{{{Nettie}}} feel better soonest!

Sari Tell your friend this is not a good time for a visit, so sad, too bad. Reschedule if you want to, otherwise don’t.

Time to take the cat back. You have tried and been beyond patient. Get a couple kittens who can play with each other and grow up with you and love you like family, or pick out one with help from the rescue who is a known “lover”. Get some Nature’s Miracle and soak the places the cat has peed on to get rid of the scent (reduces the chances that the next one will mark there just cause the last one did - they won’t mean anything by it - they just smell it). I am so sorry. I know you really, really tried. You’ve earned your karma. Time to take him back. No guilt, no shame.

Is the boil in a spot where you can put a hot towel or heating pad on it? That might help it pass a little faster. I hate it when I get those. Maybe a hot bath with Epsom salts? Good luck.

Squirrels - in the house? Son of a bitch. I hate those things. Rats with tails. Check online for traps I guess. Maybe the local hardware store?

I hope Sah-dog gets to feeling better.

Butters I’m glad you were able to work the trip out. I bet it will be a holiday to remember.

Also glad you got the card. Always nice to be appreciated.

Doggio Cats have an instinct for these things. Your name alone made it inevitable that Alex Catt would prefer you. :stuck_out_tongue:

Moooom I remember the Challenger launch. Still makes me sad.

Let me know if FCD does not like the Boxster. I’ll put my hand up. Road trip and I can meet some Dopers! When is FCD’s b-day? Just wondering if we’re b-day twins…

{{{Nettie}}} Feel better!

I am off to shop. Hopefully I’ll get back before the repair guy gets here for the stove. DH is here and can let him in if it comes to that. I am going to look at the camera, while running my errands. whistles innocently

Nov 3. He’s kinda freaking out about turning 60, which is weird because his age never bothered him before.

He went to the local CarMax and sat in a Boxster. He likes it and he says I’ll hate it because of how low it sits. I don’t doubt that. The poor kid at the lot was very confused when **FCD **asked to see the engine. He popped the front hood - trunk. He popped the back hood - another trunk!! He didn’t know it was a mid-engine car. **FCD **just stood there, amused. That was pretty mean of him, I’m thinking… Anyway, he likes it, so I’m guessing shortly after we get home from our cruise, we’ll have another car.

Back to work with me - less than an hour to go and my brain is close to fried…

Sports cars iz fun
