Where is everybody?
You know I always have a sucky topic to start the week off. I have no creativity in me and I have a most boring life.
So what do y’all suck at?
It’s a nice cool 62 degrees here. Windows are OPEN!
The back postage stamp got mowed yesterday, the front postage stamp gets mowed today.
I’m up early because the plumber is coming between 9 and noon, and I don’t want to answer the door looking like I just rolled out of bed.
Be kind of nice to clean the litter box and all before he gets here too.
I’m hungry this morning, not normal for me to want to eat this early.
It’s one of my days off from work, and I’d still be in bed if Max The Husky hadn’t woken me up to let him out. My husband was making coffee, so, Max, why did you wake ME up? Oh, it’s because I’m Mom and letting you out is MY job, not Daddy’s :headdesk:
It’s glorious out! I’ve got errands to do this morning. This afternoon I think a bit of yard work would be nice.
Second! It’s a very pleasant afternoon over my side of the pond. We are still packing up the office ready for our move tomorrow - we are relocating to the building across the way for a couple of weeks while our place is refurbished. We are having new carpets, desks, chairs and storage units so we’ve got to pack everything up to go into storage apart from the few bits we need to take with us. I’ve done my bit, so I am packing up stuff for a colleague who’s out on loan to another department for a few months. Other than that, not a lot going on today.
I was up early, well, because I was. Didn’t get to the office any quicker, just moved a bit slower at home!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 65 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 87 and N.O.S. for the day. It’s supposed to be nice all week accordin’ to TWPTB. We shall see. I shall do some cave spiffin’ this mornin’ along with some laundry most likely. A friend is bringin’ over a pan of lasagna as well. She makes good lasagna! She called me yestiddy and said she was makin’ some for her sister who has cancer and her husband and since she only knows how to make it in mass quantities we would also be recipients. Thus dindin is figured out. I’ll bake it up, do some garlic bread and make a sallit. Later this week I shall smoke mass quantities of ribs ‘n chikin. Sattidy bunch of folks are comin’ over for some quality time at the cee-mint pond and to eat. It’s the Sattidy before the Fourth of July thus we are celebratin’. Rah.
This is a day late and a dollar short but {{{{Sticky & Bubba}}}}
I figured out yesterday that I’m operating under a Vitamin D deficit. Hence why I’ve been so tired lately. :smack: I’ll take a supplement for a week and see if things improve.
From the last MMP, I love Ruble’s ideas about dusting, mine are pretty much the same.
There’s been no real change in Bubba overnight except his temperature went too low for awhile but is back to normal now. The day and night vets were going to talk and see if they could come up with anything within the next hour. So, my dad and I are going up there.
My team is traveling onsite today for a week of Extremely Stupid Meetings. The whole project has been quite crappily managed, leading to the loss of seven team-members so far. Now the contracts of three of us are almost over and we’ve all informed the agent that we’re not staying. His response to all three has been the same, dude could try for some originality. He says he’ll be telling the client tomorrow. I’ll believe it when I hear the screaming.
Didja notice I was singing harmony with swampy?? Happy Robyn Day!
**sari **- since I’ve started 2 of the last 3 weeks, I decided to let someone else have a go at it. You win!
What do I suck at? So hard to say - I’m such a master of so many things… Except drawing and painting (art type, not wall type.) I wish I could put brush to canvas and create something beautiful or even adequate. Alas, it eludes me. Even my feeble attempts at sketching cartoons, which don’t have to look real, can lead to toddlers mocking me. Yes, artistically, I suck mightily. So I just have to get by on my stunning looks and sparkling personality.
So much for cleaning the litter box before company comes, I hadn’t even knotted the bag and put it in the trash before the brat made a deposit.
I think he hates a clean box.
BigKitty I think I had the same problem, it’s why I try to sit out in the sun for 15 minutes every day. I don’t always remember, and I am one of those people who itch when they are out in the sun, so I don’t always last 15 minutes.
I wanted to vacuum the living room again but the vacuum stopped working this morning. I wanted a new one anyway. I think a cordless one.
I usually try to do an hour but what with the weather lately and sinus issues I haven’t done it in the last couple of weeks. It’s supposed to stay sunny today so I’m going to go out on the porch if I can.
I suck at so much, but the biggest thing I suck at is singing. I simply cannot carry a tune (however much it weighs). I am a complete monotone.
Ariel’s pre-purchase exam is Thorsday. It’s just a formality–I’ve been riding her for a year and nothing has popped up. Barring any unforeseen major stuff, she will be mine soon. Oh yes, I’m entering back into the crazy world of horse ownership. However, I do NOT suck at that. I am a good horse owner.
Regarding horse ownership, I have a question. Is there such a thing as horse daycare? The reason I ask - very close to where we live, someone fenced in a fairly small area - less than an acre - and put in a couple of small buildings, about stall-sized. We have seen horses there a couple of times, and I never paid attention enough to know if they’re the same horses.
Spousal unit thinks it’s a horse day care. I think horses stay where they live and someone comes to them to tend to their needs. I’m inclined to think either someone got horses, spent a lot of money, then changed their minds or fell upon financial woes, or someone maybe was doing a horse rescue. FWIW, there haven’t been any horses there for months and the property is now for sale, less than a year after the fence and building went in.
I suck at vacuuming the house. Clean the toilets? No problem. Wipe up the kitchen and mop the floor? I can do that. Run the vacuum back and forth? Let me get back to you about that.
Happy B-Day Robin!
Got the third and last load of laundry in the machine, notes written and cab scheduled. Still have to go cash a check and pick up lunch, then pack for vacation, but I have until 4PM, so I think I can get it all in.
I have ridden a horse once in my life, which does not, unfortunately, make me an expert (but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last week). Happy days to you and Ariel.
Nava, extremely stupid meetings are part of the workday for damn near everyone. Glad you are in a position that you can get out from underneath the worse.
Well, after meeting with the vet this morning, we all agreed to try bringing Bubba home. He is not eating, but his spirits are up today and he does not appear to be in pain. As of right now, he’s resting in his favorite chair.
I gots me a looooooong weekend ahead. Since Tuesday is a holiday, I decided to take next Moanday off and work that Firday instead. So I’ll have a 5-day break starting after work on Thurs. Here’s hoping we have decent weather for at least part of it!
Busy morning, busy afternoon ahead. Thank goodness for lunch breaks! It’s dangerous, tho - they’ve stocked the break room freezer with ice cream bars. Very dangerous!!! Today, I brought some cherries - that should help me resist. I hope.
Howdy Y’all! I am pleased to report da cave is defilthyfyed. Go Me! Soon I shall have some N.O.L. and who knows what the afternoon will bring. Mayhaps some quality cee-mint pond time.
StickyBuns glad BubbaSchnoodle is home and restin’ in his favorite chair poor baby. Here’s hopin’ for the best.
Metal have a fun trip!
I am not at all artistic. However, I am fairly good at carryin’ a tune and can pick out a part if I concentrate real hard. People who sit around me at the church house say they like to hear me sing so I count that as a good thing. OK, when I make up words or sing the Monthy Python version of the chorus of All Things Bright And Beautiful I get some strange looks but in that case that’s what I’m goin’ for.
Plumber is plumbing, and has been. Toilet is being fixed, pipe will be fixed, and I’m going ahead with a new hot water heater because it costs a lot less than I had anticipated.
I got a loan from the same company that financed the furnace and the first 12 months are interest free.
Yay for** Bubba** being home.
Congrats on horse ownership WetOne.
I forgot to thank you FCM for letting me start the MMP.
Maybe the people who put in the fencing and stalls didn’t realize that zoning wouldn’t let them have horses on less than a acre? If that is how it is zoned where you live. Every place I know of you have to have at least an acre per horse up to so many acres. Then you can cram them in there like sardines.
When I lived out in the country the people across the street owned .97 acres and some asshole turned them in and they had to move their horse. Really, for .03 acres, and how did they know unless they researched it?
Have a good trip MetalMouse
I so badly want to go to bed, but I can’t. I hope I can get a nap in after he leaves and before I have to log in to irk.
I have to say though, he is easy on the eyes, and smells nice too.
