Cold and damp. Went to a little diner for breakfast and other than that its laundry and relaxing with some music.
Howdy Y’all! We deheathenated and had N.O.L. The kitchen got cleanded and then nappage ensued. That has been the day here. Fun times!
Home from errands. The spawn is napping while the mrs. and I have some frozen pizza for lunch.
Back home.
I’ve been to a lot of funeral home viewings, and always, the deceased look asleep. Not my cousin. She looked like a corpse. Guess that’s what drugs do to a body. Oddly enough, the air there was more of a chatty social occasion rather than a sad gathering. My uncle said they’d thought she had straightened her life out. Obviously not. Her sisters didn’t seen affected at all - then again, I’m sure she’d been dead to them for quite a while. I’m glad I went, and I’m sorry to see a life wasted. Who knows why people do what they do…
It was nice seeing my mom and sis anyway. And we had some time between lunch and the viewing, so we drove down to see the property my grandfather used to own on the Magothy River. I never would have recognized the area. Then again, I haven’t been there since 1973, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that things have changed. Still, the river that seemed sooooooo big when we were kids looked like a little creek. And the property was just a little sliver, not the huge beach spot I remember. I guess global warming shrunk it.
Thus endeth my weekend.
I still have a bad haircut. I’m worried about da Niece. She’s showing signs of depression. Other than being an ear to listen, I really don’t know what to do for her.
The curtains are washed and ready to be ironed this week. The soup and sandwich really hit the spot and I got the heathen children’s alien masks ready for them to assemble and decorate. Now for chillage.
MOOOOOOM weird ain’t it how our childhood shrinks? Lots of places I remember have shrunk. OK, maybe i got bigger and older and the places actually remained the same but still…
'Tis chilly out makes me want to snuggle under a blankie on the bed and watch teevee. Actually I think I shall.
Nitey Nite Y’all!
Dinner was Amish noodles, buttered and salted. Actually very good. Other than that I’ll wait to see what the new MMP brings.
She was dead. I haven’t seen folks look asleep. Perhaps I am prejudiced, seeing my Father embalmed when I was sixteen. They all look dead to me.
Coldish day. I did laundry, watched the NHL All-Star game, and bought coffee. I mader Italian herbed poke chops, with sweet **N.O.T.**s and asparagus with red pepper flakes and garlic.
Red, you’re doing what you can.
What does it mean, “Amish noodles”?
[Rosie]Stop that![/Rosie]
Actually roused myself to do things today. Ordered some new soccer referee shirts (put some of them in the washer/dryer along with an ink pend and it did not go well), including a green and a pink one to go with my black, red, blue and predominately gold uniforms.
Then refereed a game (red uniform), went to Red Robin for dinner (Yum) and did most of the February shopping (4-5 odds and ends to get Moanday). For me that was a constructive Sunday and I’m looking forward to…doing less tomorrow.
All y’all take care now.
ETA: Got us to page 6!
Made by an Amish lady over in Ohio – very wide with a lot of flavor that probably comes from eggs and other things bad for my health.
Dammit ---- missed by one again!!!
Metallmouse believe it or not hairspray removes ink from fabric. Worth a try at least.
