Not very clever in the MMP

No inspired idea this morning. No clever story or pithy comment. No whines about the stooopit weather (yet) or complaints about work (yet) or perplexed contemplation about the inlaws (yet.)

As if that matters. Onwared Mumpers!!!

Happy Moanday!

1st! W00T!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. It’s 44 degrees this morning. Where did Spring go?

Blurf.

Did not kill Mom over the weekend. Did visit my old HS, say hi to several of my old teachers and to quite a few of the newer ones who are former classmates of mine, and to the teacher who is my brother’s “primary” (Ed is wrapping up a Masters in Education and has a post awaiting him for next school year in that school). Did inform Mom that no, she is not going to spend the whole freaking summer with me and I am not taking her on vacation to San Sebastián. I came back from my last vacation with her saying “nevermore! (caw!)”; later the Bros have taken her on vacation themselves and come back saying “holy nevermore fuck! (caw!)”.

Got you beat - it’s 37° at our county airport. On May 16! Not amused!!!

Y’all need to learn to use normal temperatures :stuck_out_tongue:

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 60 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 88 and partly cloudy which I reckon to mean mostly sunny. Mayhaps there will be rain tomorrow, Thursday, and Firday. Or not.

OK, that’s all I got. I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence. At least it’s men’s night over to the church house tonight so I have sump’n to look forward to on Moanday.

Happy Moanday Y’all!

Fine, I’ll use foreign measurements.

“It is 123 quatloos outside” :stuck_out_tongue:

Today is my sixtieth birthday. I have been at work for the past six and a half hours. On my lunch break now. When I clock out, I expect to go home and sleep for an hour and a half or so. Then I will drive my daughter to school, put gas in her car, and pick her up at 10:00 a.m.

Then, I will dfive with her and my wife to the Riverside National Cemetery, where my late father’s cremains will be inurned next to those of my late mother. We’ll be joined, I expect, by two brothers, one sister, a niece, a nephew, various spouses, and perhaps my brother’s grandkids. Also an honor guard of biker vets (Dad wasn’t a biker, but my brother was, until health issues forced him to give it up last year. He’s very sad that he won’t be able to take Dad for a final ride, as he did for Mom in 2010, and it’s real nice of this group to step up).

Following the service, we’ll head over to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch.

Happy birthday to me, I guess.

Happy burfday to you,
Happy BURFDAY To YOU,
Happy Burfday Kéidaaaaaaaaaad,
HAPPY BURFDAY TOOOOOO YOOOOOOOOOOO

I’ve been good and left out the sparkly colors

Happy Birthday, {{{Dad}}}, even tho it’s probably not the sort of day you wanted.

Happy Moonday!

It’s friggin’ cold outside. When I opened the door to put the dog out I got a blast of 40 degree air which is reminiscent of March.

Good luck to** FCD** on his Dr appt today.

Percy made an appearance last night. He’s learning the lay of the land. He started to run into Sah-son’s bedroom, remembered there is no outlet, headed for the kitchen and back upstairs.

How can a cat make so much noise coming down the stairs?

Even though today is Sah-son’s bd, we have nothing special planned. As usual, there is nothing he wants. I suggested we go to DQ later, but he isn’t interested. He wants to order a few more hats for his collection, that is it.

I thought he wanted a new laptop but he says not yet.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!
Sorry it won’t be so happy of a day.

I have to remember to call my aunt, it’s her birthday today too.

BLURF Up way too early and already at irk. I have a class at 0730 so am just killing time in my office til time to go. Not enough time to do anything so Blurf.

Good Luck to FCD and Happy Birthday’s to Sah-son and Dad!

I’m really glad my inlaws are taking **FCD **today. It’s a 40-ish minute drive, and without them driving, who knows where he’d have had to park, then walk to the office. He struggles to walk more than 10 or 15 feet at a time. It’s awful for him. I hope they can get him in for surgery right away - he can’t go on like this.

Degenerative disk disease sucks mightily!

nah. He’s forgiven.
blurf a la Monday

Afternoon, mumpers and a very happy Moanday to everyone!

(((((Dad)))) - happy birthday, but also hugs because it’s not really how you’d like to be spending it.

Sari, there are times when Ophelia has come trotting down the stairs and I’ve been certain it was 'im indoors because for a cat, she’s remarkably heavy on her feet. I think they do it on purpose to confuse me.

Good luck to FCD with that appointment, I hope he feels better afterwards.

Not much to say here, it purports to be 14 degrees outside (around 58 in old money) but it doesn’t feel like it as there’s a chill in the air still. At least it’s sunny, and since the office is warm we can have the illusion of a pleasant spring day. That will work fine until I have to go outside in it.

The veritable sh*tstorm at work continues, we’ve had some quite major problems with exams and computers in the last week, and that’s resulted in a barrage of meetings…and of course every last one has to be documents so I’m spending more time writing about meetings than I am actually having any of them.

I have consoled myself this morning by buying tickets to see my favourite band. Shame I have to wait until December but I am a patient person and I know they’ll be well worth the wait.

Good Og, it’s Moanday morning. Another week [del]of hell[/del]at the orifice begins…

At first, I read this as vegetable sh*tstorm, and I was intrigued. Now I’m just disappointed that no vegetables are involved.

It’s after 8 and the boss isn’t here yet. I’ve got one more small task I can do, then I’m out of work again. He doesn’t seem to get it.

My daughter got back to Orlando safely last night, so that’s good. I wonder how long the TSA lines were at BWI?

Pretty much what I planned on saying, so I’ll just second boofairy’s comments.

Odd , isn’t it, how a day can look so wonderful out the window and the temperature be so different… it’s 56F here with a high of 75 expected, no serious rain predicted until Friday and Saturday.

Ain’t meetings wonderful? That is one thing about retirement I do not miss at all. Since I write pretty good, if usually got stuck with doing the minutes (or reviewing them for someone else). Just remember, meetings are where the minutes are kept and the hours are lost.

Otherwise, just another blurfy morning. Change the air filter a bit later and do a little more picking/sorting/cleaning.

Hey lookie. I’ve been working at this job since December, and since everything, I mean EV-E-RY-THING is blocked here, i just naturally assumed…

But no! I is here!!!

CatMan! ::tackle hug::
