Not very clever in the MMP

Can I borrow your cat?

Every rental place around here says “no pets” :frowning: Wanna cat!

Hey, CatDude!!!

**MetalMouse **- regarding Saturday - get here when you get here. I goofed up on the FB page, but you’re welcome to arrive when you want. We can visit together before all the tacky folks arrive.

Boss is here. I’ve done all I can do until he deletes the dumb mistakes I made last week. Then I can start again with new dumb mistakes. I did get our database specialist to walk me thru a procedure she taught me last week - my notes were less than perfect, but they’re good now. So there’s that.

I played in a big concert with my wind band on Saturday!

I have to go out, probably in a few minutes, and I’m wondering if I should wear my winter coat, because it’s snowing. Yes, it is actually snowing. I’m not making that up.

As the old saying goes: “If you was good, fresh, clean oats, you have to pay a fair price. However, if you don’t care that they’ve already been through the horse, that comes a lot cheaper.”

Happy Birthday Dad. I hope you can take time to celebrate your life when things are a little calmer. It sounds like you have a lot on your plate right now.

Sari I was just telling my daughter last night that there are times when our cats sound like an elephant rampaging through the house on a bicycle with a flat tire. Thumpa-bumpa-crash-bang-thud-thud-thud. It’s crazy how much noise a little 10 lb cat can make.

It’s gray and about 60 amurkin. Predicted high of 80. Next rain near the end of the week.

Today I have a looong list of things to do. I guess I’ll get to doing them.

Oh wait, my big news (ish) - today the husband and I make the decision on the Oregon move. It’s looking highly likely that we’ll be heading back to the Northwest. I’m excited.

Happy birfday Dad. I’m sorry it’s not a happier day for you, but I smiled when you told about your mom going for a last ride.

I am tired and sore. Yesterday I participated in a bowling fund raiser and I tells ya, I stink at bowling. My best game was 74. But I won a cool raffle basket (chawklits and a Coach wristlet), and got to pet the mini therapy horses. Y’aa know I love horses, be they regular size or mini.

Work is annoying me. Well, not irk itself but some people. And my feline overlord (overlady!) did NOT sleep with me last night. I am miffed.

Lunch break!! I finished everything I needed to do and I’ve got another task for when I’m done ingesting my salad. No call from FCD, and I’m starting to get a little worried. I’m assuming they’re doing tests, so I’m reluctant to call. I may call my MIL in a bit.

Fighting to stay alert, tho, since I woke at 3 in the stoopit AM again. I’m thinking I’ll take Mel to bed tonight.

**Sunny **- yay for the move! And better thee than me. My current stance is that my next move will be into “The Home” and someone will be wheeling me there.

And my sweetie just called. I’ll be taking off early tomorrow to take him in for an MRI. After that, we should know something beyond his constant pain. Gotta tell the boss man.

Boss is out fetching his lunch. I finished the little task he’d left me, sorta - I found the source of the error, but I need guidance on how the revision needs to be done. So I wait.

In the meantime, I reread my OP - “onwared”??? My fingers seem to automatically put an *e *before a d, whether I want it there or not! Sometimes before an s also. Stoopit fingers!!!

Minor inlaw whine. They have visited us several times in several different places. For whatever bizarro reason, they absolutely refuse to use more than one towel when they shower. That is, they both use the same towel, so whoever showers second gets a damp towel.

I leave 2 hanging for them and I tell them where the extras are. I just don’t understand it - we have tons of towels and it’s not like it’s a major chore to launder them. They each use their own towels at home and give us each our own. It’s just odd…

Happy birthday, Dad! And I’m sorry for your loss.

Good luck to FCD on his medical issues.

Bravo, Emily! (and better you than me with the snow :stuck_out_tongue: )

Covering one of my cow-orkers areas while he’s off gallivanting around. Not an issue, as he does the same for me. PT this afternoon, then home and that’s about as exciting as my life gets today.

It was 36°F this morn, which is 2°C(old)! :stuck_out_tongue:
Happy Dadday!

Got the kitchen mostly cleaned up. Now upstairs to finish the linen closet.
Sometime I have to go to the post office to stick the mail that has been mis-delivered to my house back into one of the boxes for re-delivery.
One of the downsides of having a mail slot in the door, nowhere to put outgoing mail.

I feel like all I do is clean up other people’s messes.

My refinance is supposed to close this month and I haven’t heard a thing. I guess I shouldn’t complain being that they are paying for everything, but this was supposed to happen in March, and then April, now we’re halfway through May and not a word.

Snow in May is just obscene.
It’s so pretty, sunny, and green outside, then I open the door and shiver.

Maybe some lunch before I go upstairs.

I’m still in blurf mode

**sari **- can you clothespin the envelopes to a screen door? Or rubber-band them to a doorknob?

I could have sworn I posted in here this morning. Guess I didn’t.

Happy birthday Dad!
Have some {{{}}}

Spent most of the day working on a story. Scrapped most of what I wrote and started that section over. Ah, the fun of a creative mind. :smack: I also managed to shampoo up the spot where SOMEONE (I assume Little Bitch Tabitha) threw up catnip right in front of the door.

My MiL has a similar tic. For years, when she visited she would get out some old, old towels that I kept as rags and use one of those for her towels. I’d hang a nice towel on the rod and she wouldn’t use it. I placed a nicely folded towel set on her bed, and she wouldn’t use it. I gave her a boxed set of her own towels to use when visiting, with a note explaining. She still would use the rags. I finally just got rid of the rags. I have no idea what is up with that.

I am washing all of the small rugs I have on the hardwood floors today.

You are blurf mode.

The Rifftrax I missed is being rebroadcast tomorrow! I thought it was last week!

Maybe Irish Storyteller would like to go as my (no racial slur intended) lucky charm. Things seem to get bolloxed up when I go to the Carolina alone. You know little things like my card getting charged twice or the satellite feed failing.

Blurfage knows no time. Any hour is perfectly appropriate for a good blurf. So… blurf.

(((Hugs))) Dad. And good luck to FCD.

Finally got The Fellow’s EKG scheduled, for surgical clearance. And the fact that he needed it, due to his weight and blood pressure, has scared him enough to get him up and about some. He’s a little puny today from some stomach bug, but yesterday he put together his new radio set, and actually went to Walmart for his own electrical tape and replacement fuses. Baby steps.

My day has been exciting. Bank, grocery store, gas station, laundry, dishes, feeding 2- and 4-legged critters. Chicken chili and homemade bread for supper, and a stock pot of “chicken jello” simmering. (It grosses the kids right out when I refer to stock as [meat] jello.) Decided not to water the plants today - everything looks good, and I want to encourage good deep roots. That’s my excuse, and I’m sticking to it!

Stocking up The Boy’s apartment box continues apace, and I’m continually reminded that he’s kind of an outlier as teenage boys go. His latest additions to my List O’ Crap for the pantry: steel cut oats, balsamic vinegar, and he wants to steal some of my good Tupperware spice containers, because his sweet friend’s grandma has promised to keep him supplied with good garam masala. (“No! Don’t go buy that garbage at the grocery store! That’s for white people who don’t know what good food tastes like!”)

Same kid is also out looking for a job this week, and already miles ahead of most of the applicants I’ve ever screened for entry level service positions: neatly pressed chinos and collared shirt, his own ink pen, reliable transportation, literate, and personable. He even planned ahead and got a haircut last week. I guess he was actually listening all of those years when I griped about feral job applicants!

Another day at work. And I get to go in extra early tomorrow.

Happy Birthday Sah-Son!!!
Happy Birthday Dad!!!
and {{{{hugs}}}}

IDDQB?
