I am so sorry to hear this news. He was a good man.
Oh, damn. MusashiFlex, thank you for letting us know. My condolences to you, and to his family and friends.
One of the things I remember about Khadaji is what he always said in threads like this one:
I always thought that was a nice sentiment.
Khadaji was a fine poster, and I’ll miss you Ron.
Khadaji just seemed like a really nice fella all the way around. I don’t remember anything but good about him and I hate it when there’s suddenly no way to tell someone that you enjoy their company, personality, judgement, etc.
My condolences.
Oh that’s sad. Thank you for letting us know, MusashiFlex. It’s really very kind of you to remember us all at this time.
It sounds to me like his beloved dog just wanted to give up without her master. It’s for the best, I think.
The next book I read, I’ll think of Khadaji.
My thoughts are with you and the rest of Khadaji’s friends and family.
So sorry for your loss. He was a very kind and sincere poster.
I really appreciated the “Whatcha Reading” threads. So sorry to hear this. RIP.
I enjoyed reading Khadaji’s book recommendations and have added many of his suggestions to my To Read list. I will remember him as a fellow reader, and will miss his insights.
My condolences to his family and friends.
I’m pretty sure I picked up a few of his book recommendations. I very much enjoyed his contributions to the “Whatcha Reading” threads. He’ll be missed.
I think I enjoy the Whatcha Reading threads more than anything else that goes on here (BTW, they have been rechristened Khadaji’s Whatcha Reading threads for posterity). I always appreciated Ron’s conscientiousness in starting the new threads so promptly and his consideration in linking them for us.
He has been much in the forefront of my mind these last few days and I expect he will be for some time to come. I’m so sorry to hear about the dog, I know she was of great importance to him. My condolences to all those who were fortunate enough to know him.
I too will miss the “Whatcha Reading” threads (perhaps someone else can assume the monthly mantle in his memory?) but now I am thinking…I may quit smoking. He was so encouraging in the “quit smoking” threads as well.
This is terrible. Khadaji was a really, really nice guy.
RIP, Khadaji and your beloved dog. Hope you’re both enjoying a good walk in the great beyond.
They are continuing and as noted above, have been rechristened the “Khadaji’s Whatcha Readin’ Thread” starting with February. We will still continue to read and discuss what we read!
Wow, that’s so sudden. A reminder to us all to not take flu too lightly, I guess.
My sympathies to you and Khadaji’s family; I hope his dog doesn’t follow him too soon.
Sadly, she already has (see post #95). ![]()
Oh, I missed that - an added poignancy.
