I might not be remembering this properly, but my favourite episode of The Nanny was the one where Fran does something outraaaaageous or inappropriate and Maxwell gets angry about it, but she either charms her way out of getting in trouble or makes him see that she was right all along. Meanwhile Niles was mean to CC and CC was mean to everybody. Also, Sylvia ate things! LOL!
My favorite episode of Primeval is where a prehistoric creature attacks innocent British people, and Connor cracks wise, while the soldier character tries to keep him from getting his adorable, but reckless self killed. Lester has a few wonderfully dry comments to make about the situation too.
My favorite episode of Haven is the one where one of the unfortunate townies develops a super power that can’t be controled, and Audrey has to referee between Nathan and Duke.
My favorite episode of In Plain Sight is the one where Mary has trouble with one of her witnesses, and has to lean on Marshal to help keep the witness safe.
My favorite episode of Hawthorne is the one when Christina steps on toes while trying to do the right thing, and someone over-reacts about it.
My favorite episode of the X-Files is the one where Mulder and Scully investigate a crime in a sleepy little town[sup]*[/sup]
[sup]*[/sup] which of course, I got to reference in chapter 4 of this fic:
*“Have you ever stopped to think about how many of our cases could be summed up as ‘agents investigate a horrible crime in a picturesque small town’?”
Mulder grins. “Maybe there’s a dark hidden underbelly in all the pretty places, too.”
“Hmm.”
“I guess that’s better than the brutal places that are more than happy to roll over and show you their underbellies,” Mulder concludes.
“Mulder, you better be careful. There are laws against abusing a defenseless metaphor like that”*
My favorite episode of Inspector Gadget was the one where Penny sends Brain (in disguise) with Gadget to keep an eye on him but Gadget thinks the bad guys are good guys and Brain is the bad guy.
My favorite episode of Married w/ Children is the one where Al complains about fat women, Peg’s complains about not having sex, Bud calls Kelly a tramp, Kelly makes fun of Bud’s (lack of) social life, and the one where Al makes fun of Marcy’s figure and everyone makes fun of Al’s job.
Is that the one where Mulder proposes an off the wall theory as to what’s going on which Scully dismisses out of hand only to find out that Mulder was right? I loved that one.
My favorite episode of Star Trek the original series was when Kirk, Spock, McCoy, and that guy in the red shirt went to the surface of that one planet with all the dangerous aliens. Too bad for that guy in the red shirt.
I seem to recall an episode of Home Improvement where Jill was frustrated with something dumb Tim had done, and he didn’t understand why until he went out and talked to Wilson over the fence. (Oddly enough, you couldn’t see all of Wilson’s face. It’s like he was hiding back there.) Anyway, he went back in and straightened things out with Jill, but requoted Wilson’s advice in a hilariously wrong way.
I think it was the same one that had a subplot on Tim’s cable show where he and Al demonstrated some awesomely overpowered tool and it didn’t quite go as planned.
I really love that episode of Law & Order: Criminal Intent where Goren pulled one obscure fact after another out of his ass, cocked his head to one side and acted sort of crazy, while the actress playing Eames struggled to remind herself that even though she never got to say or do anything remotely interesting, it WAS nice to have a steady paycheck.
My favourite episode of Hill Street Blues was the one that ended with Frank in bed with Joyce.
I think it started with roll call. At some point Belcher took a phone call from his Ma while in the middle of booking a perp at his desk. And there was some sort of tense situation where Howard and Henry fell out over whether to send in the SWAT team or negotiate.
My favourite episod of Buffy was the one where, if you thought about it, the supernatural challenge faced by the protagonists was in some way a metaphor for a much more mundane challenge that might be faced by people their age in the real world.
My favourite episode of Rome was the one where complex political machinations were ultimately resolved by Titus Pullo and Lucius Vorenus getting all stabby.
My favourite Cafe Society thread was the one where we were all terribly amusing about highly predictable aspects of popular culture.
Oh, was that the one where Kyle or Stan learned something that day? Or was it the one where Butters was worried about being grounded? Or,come to think of it, was that the same episode?
