It’s getting cooler and drier outside. My face, especially under my eyes and my forehead get dry and ichy. Being a guy, I have no problem with using moisturizers. I do have a problem with what the market has to offer. I do not want greasy cream moisturizers, nor do I want to smell like coconuts or perfume. My ex-girlfriend gave me some that also has a sunscreen agent, but the same above problems. I want one that just makes my skin feel softer and not itchy, not like I have rubbed grease or suntan lotion on my face.
Gold Bond made a good one. A small tube and it lasted for a long time. Not greasy and it felt tingly when I rubbed it on. I have not seen it lately. Any good suggestions.
Curel just came out with a new formula called “Extreme Care” at first it smells of oranges but the smell quickly fades, it’s just a citrus oil added in. They say it’s a body lotion but I use it on my face after I apply my main moisturizer as the main one has UV protection. I only apply it to my eye area and over my top lip…them wrinkles need more care!
I have seen some small samples in the stores.
For anyone else, this is an excellent body lotion. It’s reasonably priced considering some of the very good lotions out there like Eucerin, which work great but can break the bank.
If you’re like me and get dry skin in the morning, but gets greasy at the end of the day, a moisturizer from Johnson & Johnson’s Clean & Clear work remarkably well.
Thanks for the suggestions. I do tend to be low maintenance. What is in a tube form that I could carry in my pocket, and when it feels right just rub it in, such as blistex (ointment) for the lips. The Gold Bond ointment was great. Tingly, clean and refreshing.
Oil of Olay doesn’t smell? Wife bought it once and it REEKED!
What you want for that masculine smell is 10W40 motor oil. Hypo-allergenic, too. Use the fresh stuff for formal occasions and the used stuff for a quick touchup for your tan!
Nonono, the ultimate masculine moisturizer is hydraulic oil. Accidentally wind up wearing 2 gallons of it, and the resulting shower leaves you so waterlogged that moisture is not a concern.
Definitely Avon’s Silicone Glove. I worked in an unheated stable all day every day one winter and it kept my hands from getting chapped.
My favourite moisturizer, though, is only available in Canada: Jamieson’s Vitamin E moisture cream. It’s lovely, and really is scent free.
With any moisturizer you should put it on damp skin and wait about 15 minutes before going into the cold, so the water doesn’t freeze on your skin (which would make the problems worse).
