A Great Big, Beautiful MMP!

Too late. Talk Like A Pirate Day was last weekend.

(on a more serious note… everything okay?)

We just had my September special of the month for dinner, a Pizza Style Pasta. It was… ok. Although, I think that part of the reason that it totally failed to wow me was because it had been sitting in the refrigerator since Friday waiting to be baked. Obviously, this weekend’s excitement got in the way.

Li-Li, how about green tomato pie (NOP)? My mom makes it just like apple pie, just substituting the tomatoes for apples. It’s pretty awesome.

I’ve made green tomato jam before; very yum. You can probably make a smaller quantity than the recipe calls for, Muppet. I’ve been contemplating making one or two jars this year (I have a fair number of green tomatoes that probably won’t ripen). I made half a recipe the last time I made it. Pie sounds good too, though.

Came home and fell asleep for about an hour. That felt good. Need to get some stuff put away, but am knitting instead.

Hugs to all.

GT

Swampster, I’m still waiting to hear the tale. :dubious: :taps foot impatiently:

Are they supposed to be biting your bare fat bear ass?

Hm. Pie or jam. I have a bad feeling they’ll just sit until they’ve gone bad, and I can throw them out. Maybe I can talk Attacks Husband into doing something with them.

Time to finish putting away laundry and then go to bed and hope Nat sleeps.

you could always shellack them and make a collage . . .

I bowled a 74, a 56, and a74 tonight. We lost.

HeyRebohow’sitgoingstopbyagainsometime!

BooFae, yay for a sudccesful beer quest!

Yay for a home, Spaz!

swampy, is there an update on the non-assbiting?

But but but but…

I could take them off your hands. And make jam with them. And give you the jam when I was done (minus a jar or two as payment for my services, depending on how big of a batch comes out).

gt, I thought about doing a small batch of jam, but I have very very few green tomatoes of my own this year - the plants were really unhappy with the long spell of cold rainy weather in August and refused to ripen until much later than usual, and one of the plants got a nasty case of blossom end rot to boot. I’ll be lucky to end up with 2 cups worth of chopped green 'maters, from the looks of things. :frowning:

Oh well. There’s always next year.

I too am curious as to why anyone (except Ol’ Y’All Know Who) would be biting swampus’ hirsute posterior. :dubious:

Just got home with our son’s new car. Well, new-used car, but it’s new to him!

Hubby drove the son’s car back and I drove the Beemer. I guess my son’s car handled quite nicely, and really for 1600 smackeroos, one can’t expect new-new car handling.

The tires still have a lot of tread on them too, so that’s something he won’t have to worry about for awhile.

Whew! All the same it was a loooong day. Worked all day, grabbed Sonic for dinner, then headed 25 miles north to pick up the car.

Glad you’re back home safe and sound, BooFae.

I think I’m gonna kick off my heels and relax before I have to leave to pick my son up from work.

I have some beautiful green beans from my aunt’s garden. And I know exactly what I will do with them, I have this great recipe involving basically stir-frying them and some spices. I will try it out before posting it, though, I haven’t made it in years.

You tomato people can keep 'em. I have tried repeatedly to like tomatoes. My aunt grew some beautiful looking tomatoes as well as the beans and some other veggies. But I don’t like them. It saddens me, tomatoes are so pretty and look like they should be so tasty!

they are tasty to many people. How do you feel about lima beans and brussel sprouts?

Yay for BooFae arriving home safe & sound - now you must regale us with tales of the NYC trip. Glad to hear that Spaz has found a place and moved in; I’m still sending good vibes your way, btw. Yay to Taterson adjusting his 'tude somewhat and woo hoo on the car. Swampy, sorry that work is aggravating you. :frowning: Sending good vibe thoughts your way.

The physical therapist says that I qualify for a rollator; I also need to see PT about once a week for the next 3-4 weeks. One knee is worse than the other; the patella is loose and crunches, which he said was not a good thing (DUH!). He did say to try to get to the pool and exercise in the water as much as possible, but to definitely NOT try to walk as exercise. DUH! Then, had lab work done on Tuesday am–the phlebotomist couldn’t find a vein and ended up using a butterfly needle (OUCH!) on the back of one hand. That vein promptly collapsed so they used the back of the other hand. The lab work turned out okay except that my thyroid med needs to be adjusted. So I’ve got to go see my primary care doctor next week. Huh, I don’t know whether it needs to be adjusted up or down!

Well, at least it’s Thurday now! One more day until the weekend.

Blurf you say?

Yeah, just one of students sent me an email that means a heck of a lot of work for me. Le sigh.

I’m not a tomato fan either. I like tomato stuff, like salsa and pasta sauce. But raw tomatos just don’t do it for me.

I don’t remember if I like brussels sprouts or not but I love lima beans.

And I should have amended what I said: in general tomato sauces are okay by me, it’s chunks of actual tomato that I Just. Can’t. Like. Except in something like salsa where the taste of raw tomato is usually overwhelmed by other things.

yawn

I can haz blurf?

U can haz all blurf you want. Here, take some of mine…

Blurf.

Huh. I just cut my finger (not badly) on a plastic serated ‘safety’ cutting blade.

li-li, if you put the green tomatoes in a brown paper bag and keep them in the dark for a few days, they should ripen.

swampy! Alright young man! You get back in here this instant and explain yourself! Don’t give me that look! You want your eyes to stay that way???

taters, boy do I NOT miss those testosterone-poisoned teen years! You are a saint for not ripping the kid a new one.

pie, OW!

boofae pics please!

Flu shot today but NOT for H1N1 virus…just the regular garden variety flu. I get one every year and I have only had the flu once in the last 20 years. That’s good enough for me.
