It’s raining. The back door sticks when it’s humid out. Poor Sah-dog was dancing with his legs crossed and I wasn’t doing much better trying to open the door with my legs crossed.
The heat is working, I had to pay $99 to have the emergency switch switched. To be fair even the service guy had trouble finding it. It’s halfway down the stairs and kind of hidden. Got to love old houses.

On the home front, we’re trying to figure out why we have horrible electric bills. Our bills are double what they were in NC, but we have the same stuff. If anything, our bills should be a bit lower as we switched from an electric to a gas clothes dryer and left an old fridge behind. We’re wondering if the “leftover” wiring from when this house had a swimming pool might be at fault. There are fourteen outlets in the garage and nine outlets outside. Just sitting there, outlets don’t use electricity, but it is an unusual amount of them.
We’ve already looked, and there aren’t any extension cords plugged into the outside outlets going towards any neighbors.
Howdy Y’all! Irk is finally over. Dindin was clean out da fridge. OYKW did and left cause he has to go to a meetin’ this evenin’ poor thing. Then again, better him than me.

gotti does the power company do energy audits (or whatever they’re called?) Might be worth it to check out what could be the reason for the higher bills. That other thing, well, the first thing I thought of is all your base are belong to us.

Regarding pets and bathroom doors. When no one is there, I have no problem with animals coming in whenever. When there’s someone else around, they’d better follow me in, if they want their pets. 'Cause they are no good at all at closing the door after they’ve pushed their way in, and you can see from the kitchen to the bathroom across the little, short hall.

We’re in the middle of Apocalyptical rain storm, which means it’s humid. That being said, I literally rang my shirt out during tonight’s training & had it dripping on the floor. When I finished & walked out of the building, I still had the music playing in my ears; something I don’t usually do as it makes it harder to hear (in town) & thus a potential victim, but I was too fried to take them out. I see a woman walking towards me, I’m not saying her skirt/dress was short but I have *underwear *that hangs down lower (& I’m not talking the boxer/brief kind!) I thought she was on the phone, but I coulda sworn she said the word ‘date’. I fried guy with $0 on him is not the guy you wanna hook. :rolleyes:
I got in my car & started driving. I saw a handful of people walk out of one bar & I had to stop at the light at which point the female in all black said to the guy, “You got two drinks & two beers, that’s $30.” It sounds like he was stiffing her & she chased him out onto the sidewalk. Good for her!

I had probably the roughest night this year last night. It started with an anxiety fueled dream, then segued into an awake period that required extra anti-itch medicine. I was awake for about an hour.
Here’s the really creepy part. Dream #2 involved me coming home from a trip to Europe to find the backyard of the next door neighbor I didn’t like (mythical, BTW) on fire and spreading over to mine. No sooner than I got the fire out, the real life fire department set up a pumping operation in front of MY house. VWife thinks the call was for the drunk and drug house across the street where the occupants have a 24/7/365 game of horseshoes going. I never did smell any smoke.
All told, my sleep time was under 4 hours, and I don’t have any vacation time left to blow off work today.
Good morning from Ocala!! We arrived a bit after 8 last night following a mostly-benign drive. There was some seriously nasty rain in NC for a bit, but mostly, the ride was dry. We about got blinded in FL, especially when we had to head west on I-10, right into the sunset!
Higgs woke us about 4:20-ish this morning to pee, and I gave up and got up about an hour later. She’s been out to pee and poo, and she’s been fed. I took Abby out to pee but I don’t know what she gets fed and my BIL is still asleep. Maybe I’ll just give her a scoop of kibbles and be done with it. Poor starving Abby (my MIL’s cairn terrier.)
Later today, we’ll go to Daytona. Then we’ll go back on Sat with our daughter. Sunday, we’re meeting an old friend for lunch at a BBQ joint in Interlachen. Monday’s FIL’s surgery. Good times, good times.

Up and caffeinated. Off today, I shall clean. They started residing my apartment building, so I expect someone to start having psychotic episodes when they get to my end.

The apple crumb pie was absolutely delicious. We haven’t tried the pumpkin custard yet, but if it’s anything like the apple pie, it’ll be awesome, too. And, of course, pie!
