Howdy Y’all! Irk is over and da bear is in da cave! WOOHOO!!! Been a day of wonky actin’ ‘puter. Plus a day on the phone. I detest, despise, and do not like even a little bit, extended talkin’ on the phone. However when one must, one must.
So, here I shall chill until OYKW shows up then dindin will get heated up.
flytrap why would you expect zombie Santas to happen in Jawja. All our weird Santas are more into runnin’ shine.
Yeller the poor dawgies! All they want is to make sure mommy is safe and keep her company while she goes potty!
**Nettie **- just one feline supervisor? I get 2 felines and a canine. At FairyChatEstates, you never pee alone!
Pizza for supper. We’re packed except for toiletries, but we need them when we shower in the morning. Higgs still needs to be packed - she’s such a slacker.
MOOOOOOM I’m afraid you will have to insist, insist, mind you, that FCD bring his laptop. We cannot have you AWOL from the MMP. Everyone who agrees, say “Aye.”
Dindin has been ingested. That is some good ham 'n N.O.T. soup! The rest of it is now in da freezer (in containers, of course, I did not just fling it in da freezer) for ingestion at later dates.
For anyone that’s been watching the same-sex marriage developments of the past few days, I offer a bit of unintended humor. The state of Idaho has decided not to pursue further efforts to maintain a ban on SSM, and someone announced it thusly in a commentssection:
yeller, bathroom doors that lock are vastly underrated (says the one who lived in a house with the only bathroom taking several years to remodel )
gotti, I take it that the Idaho Bureau of Tourism was not the department issuing that statement.
Irk is done for the day. We will get a tentative moving date tomorrow for our move to another area of the plant. We’ll be closer to security and the front offices but clear across the facility (roughly three city blocks) from several of the areas that I interact with.
Just heard from a colleague in the office that she and her family will be spending 9 weeks in Oklahoma City where her young daughter will be having proton therapy for a brain tumour. As far as she’s concerned, the promise of proton therapy has always been a safety blanket which she never thought would get used. Now it is going to happen and she is struggling to deal with what might be a last-ditch attemtp to save her child.
We don’t know when she will be leaving, it could be in the next couple of weeks or later than that, we just know it’s coming.
Please keep them all in your thoughts, I know they could do with all the positive feelings they can get.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 59 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 75 for the day and sunny. It’s actin’ like Fall again.
BooFae prayers and good thoughts headed out for your friend and her daughter. I guess all you can do is just hold 'em close to your heart. I hope the therapy works.
Ok, that’s all I got for now. I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence. Gotta do some local runnin’ around today. At least it’s a nice day for that.
Today is seriously blurfy. It’s about 20 degrees too warm outside, plus it’s raining and that makes for humid, nasty, gross weather. The leaves are pretty, at least, so there’s that. I have to walk across the complex to pick up a couple of pies I ordered from a fundraiser, but PIE!
Irk is blurfy, too. I have nothing better to do than to sit here and read the SDMB, play The Sims on my phone and steal the occasional look at Facebook. Normally, I’d have knitting to do, but I need a few things to make the project I want, so I left that home. That leaves the interwebs, a magazine, and a book.
Glad to hear everything went well, BBBobbio! Drugs are the best, aren’t they?
Methinks someone kilt it off last night, but then came back this morning to make sure it was still dead.
Two hunters are out in the woods when one of them collapses. He doesn’t seem to be breathing and his eyes are glazed. The other guy whips out his phone and calls the emergency services. He gasps, “My friend is dead! What can I do?” The operator says “Calm down. I can help. First, let’s make sure he’s dead.” There is a silence, then a gun shot is heard. Back on the phone, the guy says “OK, now what?”
Irk is bein’ irky today. Lots of teh stoopid. Now it’s N.O.L. time and then, joy of joys, I get to go back out for round two teh stoopid. I’ll be glad to see go home time Firday for sure!
Horsey leafletting has been extended again by juuust one more day. This is especially good, especially as I’ve just discovered the beekeeping group membership is also due. It’s not a lot/ and I definitely get my money’s worth even without the bee insurance which is included.
I’m a mildly frustrated little orange though, cos I got a missed call when drivin’ round, which turns out to be from a company I applied for a job at yesterday. They’re now closed so I can’t call them, and my email’s decided it’s not gonna work, so I don’t know if they sent me anything. The ad said they want someone asap as well…
I’m also being frustrated by my tablet- a bunch of stuff got updated on it yesterday, and now for some reason the , and / have swapped places on the keyboard thingy. Gaaah, it may technically be a better place for the comma, but don’t mess with my keys and confuse me, dammit!
swampy, I suggested a bicycle, but a trike would work. A moped would likely be right out of the question.
boofae, my thoughts are with your coworker and her daughter. When they leave, if you have contact info for cards, etc that you’d like to share, please pm me.
They still haven’t announced our move in date. I hope it’s before I go out so that I can get settled into my new cube. Tonight, I’m going to try bowling. I’ve missed the past two meet ups and will miss the next two or three. If I don’t feel up to rolling a ball, I can still visit.
