Good morning everyone. I’m up and caffienating. I do believe my coffee maker is on it’s last legs. The stupid “on” button doesn’t want to stay on. It wouldnt’ break my heart if it were, I hate the carafe because it dribbles when you pour if ou don’t hold it just right. You also can’t pour too quickly.
We’re supposed to go out to dinner this evening with my daughter’s boyfriend and his mother. We’ve never met his mother before because she lives in Missouri. Hopefully, it all goes well.
I overslept. I hate when I do that–half the day is gone. Argh.
Me, I love bats in theory. I don’t want to see one up close (they are not very attractive) and I don’t want it inside, but they eat mosquitos, so I thinkly highly of them.
Howdy Y’all! Back from churchification. Also I got ol’ y’all know who on the road to Gulf Shores, AL. His mom and sister are there for the week and wanted him to come down for a couple of days at least. He was wafflin’ on it but I reminded him he has four use or lose vacation days to use by the end of the month and there is no sense whatsoever in losin’ vacation days. So he’s on his way down. Thus I am a bachelor until Firday.
Since I am, Ima get all wild and crazy. I’m gonna make and eat a sammich and then nap. I just go all berzerk when I’m left alone.
Mornin’… errrr… Afternoon, rather (it was morning when I started this post, but I got distracted)
Taters, considering Ariel the Wondercat once managed to run off with a pork tenderloin that was nearly as long as she is, I don’t think the size of the fish would matter much.
swampus, wood is indeed expensive… and we went with cheapo pressure treated rather than cedar or composite. I’d hate to think how much that would’ve cost.
That said, it is a rather big deck… two levels - upper is around 5ftx10ft, lower is 10ftx10ft, not to mention around 25ft of new fence. Nothing too fancy, since we’re not fancy-type folks. I we got a pretty good deal on the whole thing, considering the price of the materials, but my bank account still feels violated.
Tart was great, gt. Pretty yummy for breakfast, too, seeing as we had a few leftovers.
Yeah but pork tenderloins don’t bite, Mahna. Oscars bite when they feel threatened.
Years ago my husband had 13 inch Oscar. He was pretty tame, and would even come up to the top of the tank to let my husband stroke his side. My husband would even hand feed him pieces of bologna and cheetos. My husband had a friend who had imbibed a little too much one evening and kept stabbing his finger into the water and pushing the Oscar back down. The oscar decided to teach him a lesson. The oscar waited down by the bottom of the tank and as soon as he saw our friend getting ready to jab his finger again he swam full force, leapt up, and tried to swallow our friend’s finger. Oscars have teeth in their throats. He put a nasty bite on the friend’s finger that drew blood. Our friend never tried that again.
You’ll have to post pictures of your deck, **Mahna. ** It sounds nice.
Break time! The shelves are built, and we’ve had lunch. I’m about to go downstairs so we can sort and store a lot of crap. Doncha wish you had my life?
Good thing we didn’t plan to sail. It started dreary, got sunny, the drearied up again. Instead, we’re tidying my studio - good times.
Well, that was quick. **FCD **overdid it and hurt his back. So we’re done, which is fine by me. We got started on sorting junk, and we can do a box or two a night and have it done by the end of the week. So yay for that.
Meanwhile, I’m doing laundry. Oh yes, the fun never ends at FairyChatEstates!
Ooooh, I could have written that. they really are very cool animals, just not ones that you want to have a close personal relationship with. If you’re me, at any rate.
So, I’ve got stuff for lunch tomorrow. Need to mow and water. Also need to keep going with the clean up and organizing. Still have lots of stuff that could be shredded.
Instead, I’m knitting. And have been watching German TV online.
But maybe I can get motivated and do something for a while. Really really really need to water and mow.
I’m taking a short break from tidying up the house. I’ve got my daughter out there helping me, so it’s going a lot faster. Considering we’re tidying up because we’re meeting her boyfriend’s mother for the first time, I consider it a fair deal.
I need to do some laundry so I have some clothes to wear to work this coming week.
I’ve found the bathing suit I’m getting for my trip to Hawaii. I haven’t hit the purchase button yet because I"m really having a hard time spending $91.00 for a bathing suit (includes shipping and taxes). My husband thinks I’m nuts and keeps telling me to go for it.
Cute suit, Taters. I say go for it. It’s only money after all!
What should I do for supper? I don’t feel like cooking and I don’t feel like going out. And we live so far in the boonies, no one delivers here. Where is the Supper Fairy?!?
I like that suit. Have you tried Land’s End? They also have nice suits, but not quite as pricey (more like $70).
I am back from taking #2 son to a Youth Group Dinner for parents. #1 son is a staffer (he’s in charge of Freshman), but I wanted John to see what awaits him next year. It is nice and cool here.
Work tomorrow–library, yay!
Sorry to hear about FCD’s back. Back pain is awful.
Woo hoo! Just got back in from my day trip to Philadelphia for my Dad’s 80th birthday. We had a blast - took my Dad out to lunch, saw three of my four brothers – and talked to the one who couldn’t make it, one brother and his wife bought me a “zep” (a hoagie from Norristown PA) and some raisin cinnamon sticky buns (the most raisins I’ve seen in ages! LOL). One sticky bun failed to make it all the way home …
The upshot is that I’m beat now. I won’t be going in to work tomorrow, which means that I’ll be working on Friday (birthday). Ah well, I did have a good time at least. And Happy Birthday to my Dad!!!
