Morning my darlings. Hugs for Taters and MBG - I hope your daughter is starting to feel better.
I actually got a call from a friend in Korea who’d heard about the shooting and for a moment panicked because she vaguely recalled that I’d said I was teaching at a college “somewhere around Chicago.” I had to laugh a little at her ignorance of Illinois geography, but was happy to assure her that I was nowhere near NIU.
Today I shall brave the cold and do some shopping downtown. I need some more clothes I can wear to work. And I haven’t been properly shopping in eons.

so, yesterday and today, there is a lot of hubbub over the term DINK (dual income - no kids). The cow-orkers have been giggling about it “you’re a DINK hahaha” “you just called me a DINK hahahaha” - well, I just laid 'em all out with “I guess that makes me a SINK”
Why must Word be such a PITA? All I want is for the labels to print out exactly the way they show up on the screen. Why is that so difficult? I’m going to be so happy when I can dump all the collateral for tonight’s dinner on my co-worker’s desk.

I’ve lost my formatting menus, lately. Must recover them at some point. Will put that in to-do list.
*AAAAAAAAAAAND * I’m back. Along with the usual stuff, I got a tetanus shot (because I haven’t had one in a while) and an EKG (same reason) plus appointments for tit-squishin’ and to see a neurologist. I was a bit concerned about my far-too-frequent brain farts of late. It may be nothing, but I accept that I’m getting older and sometimes stuff happens. So I’m going to go have an evaluation and see what gives.
We also went to the new marina, and it’s really nice, but they want to be paid up front in full for the year. That’s $4K. Now while I’ll admit to being a grossly overpaid suckler at the government teat (yeah, I’m equivalent to a GS13 and I’ve got almost 34 years of service) anyway, I don’t have $4K tucked in a jacket pocket. And with the kid’s graduation, wedding, and move impending, I expect to shell out at least that much before May is over. So what I’ve got to do is look at the budget and see if it’s reasonably doable. I hate to hit savings or the home equity line of credit… on the other hand, once the kid is off our dole, we’ll have more disposable income and we’ll be able to pay back our savings in fairly short order. I dunno. I’ll be playing with a spreadsheet later, just to see what can be done.
**FCD ** went back to the boat to try to remove the exhaust riser. I’m thinking about maybe playing in clay again. I dunno. I might dust. Or vacuum. Or not. I love having a day off.
