Hi all,
Have just installed FireFox for the first time and need a little help getting things in the spots I want them in.
What I want:
File edit view etc at the top
Google toolbar next
Address bar with the history button on the left and the refresh and home button on the right of the address bar.
buttons for links at the bottom.
Nice detailed step by step instructions would be nice (please note I have the flu from hell and am feeling very very dense and snot filled)
Also I would like my bookmarks to look as much like ie bookmarks as possible (I’m sure theres is an addon for this but there are like 900 to choose from for bookmarks and I would like a reccomendation)
So click on bookmarks to open up a side tab with bookmarks, and history (and be able to choose by date, site, order visited today ect)
I’m not sure step-by-step instructions are necessary. You can already see all the toolbars you are wanting to move, right? All you have to do is right click on an empty space on a toolbar and choose customize. Move the window that comes up out of the way, and move everything to your hearts content. If there is a button you don’t want, drag it to the window. If you want a new button, it will be in that window.
If any of your toolbars are missing, then you can enable them with that same right click. Check the toolbars you want, and not the ones you don’t.
I used to use it, but now IE 8 and Firefox have the Search Bar which is cool because instead of the Google search box being on its own row (as part of the Google Toolbar) it can be a part of another row. I have it sharing a line with my bookmarks toolbar.
I know that the full Google Toolbar has more features than just searching, so you may use the toolbar for that. But, if you just use it for quick access to Google you might find it “tidier” to ditch the Google Toolbar and simply use the Search Bar.
Nothing against using the Google Toolbar. Just a helpful tip if you weren’t privy to what the Search Bar is/does.
