A little quirk I love about the SDMB....

In life we experence, notice, spot things that are funny or interesting that we wish to share with others. Of course we often forget by the time we’ve met up with anyone worth sharing with.

But here, soo much of life is talked about that more often than not something one of us says will extract that little interesting fact from our brain, no batter how old or insignificant.

As a result all those interesting little things we wish to say get said and we feel momentarily satisfied. It’s a tiny folder we can close and file away in our brains. The key to happiness is tying up loose ends.
Or maybe it’s just me, and the amount of time I spend here

glances up at post count

Yep, it’s just you.

One thing I’ve noticed is that Lobsang frequently posts (especially in MPSIMS) something that has never occured to me. And then once he’s posted it, whatever it is will gnaw at me forfreekin’EVER.

Lobsang is responsible for many sleepless nights and puzzled grimaces. (I mean that in a good way. Mostly.)

I know exactly what you mean. Lobsang does strange things to my mind, but always in a good way.

I’d almost lust after him, but he’s straight and I’m not

Lobsang
… no batter how old or insignificant …

It’s nice to see that you do not believe in age discrimination … even in baseball. And good for you !!!

Seriously Lobsang, that was an interesting thought. It is good to see that the SDMB (and the Internet in general) is bringing people together.

I’d like to post more, but I have an appointment at the Naughty Medieval Lesbian Wench Dungeon of Punishment Chat Room.

I’d lust after him too but he’s young and I’m not. :frowning:

That said, there are many threads which have engaged me but to which I haven’t responded because other, more eloquent posters have got there before me.

I’d lust after him but he’s on the Isle of Man and I’m not. :dubious: Also I have no idea what he looks like or what his username means.

I think he mentioned once before that it was a Tibetan reference from one Terry Pratchett’s works.

A Terry Pratchett fan, eh?
By the way, happy birthday Lobsang, you old duffer, you!

::Looks at Lobsang’s post count::

THAT’S ALOT O’ POSTS!

That is all. Cary on.

problem with this place is you discover there are more loose ends than you imagined, and some of them are perpetual knots. grumble grumble

Oh, yeah, Lobsang is the Mango in our collective subconscious mind.

Ah someone noticed! Thanks

I almost forgot myself.

And <giggle> all the <shy look down at feet> lusting <clear throat>

(seriously though, be it from Gay, Old, or too far away I am flattered)

**Happy Birthday !!! **

:::throws confetti:::::::::::

So, Happy Birthday!

Oh, I might actually win – I’m gay AND old

Seriously, though, I’ve even told you this before. I always enjoy reading your posts. Now you should be very afraid

The restaurant where we had the SFBay dopefest this Sunday had laminated cards on the tables describing the escape from Tibet of a refugee named Lobsang.

Pervert.
Actually, you do make a very good point, a Trivial Pursuit of the soul, if you will.

If only I could channel that energy into writing a Novel or something.
How did this thread get to be almost totally The Lobsang Thread™ anyway?! :dubious:

Maybe because in some kind of Discworld-esque Anthropomorphic way I might turn out to be the Straight Dope Message Board, and this thread is the first sign.

Or maybe not.

I bet not many internet message boards have the personification of time as a member. (I just read the book a couple of days ago.)

And as to the OP: I can’t speak for anyone else, but it doesn’t apply to me.
