A (M)ad Lib MMP

So, does this mean we need to find a new place to meet?

 Hide in plain sight, m’dear. Hide in plain sight!

Echod - it’s not the iPod that’s giving you trouble - It’s Windows

Whenever my iPod goes wonky, I let it charge for a day then reboot it hitting the center and up button simultaneously
It that doesn’t work, try a potch en tukhis  vertically, port side down, firmly pound (but not too hard) the iPod on a firm but not rigid surface (a stack of papes or a gel wrist pad works fine), then reboot and you should be good to go.

BTDT :frowning:

OK, I’ll try this… thanks! I was all for the violent approach at one point yesterday, but couldn’t figure out how to hurt it… :dubious:

Noone, I don’t know about the “love” part, but there is definitely friendship. I think both of us are finding it difficult to figure out if we’re confusing friendship + sexual attraction for something more.

doggio made a durnken post! We haven’t had those around here in too long.

Now, someone PLEASE tell me why our school cafeteria doesn’t open until 7:45? I need caffiene NOW. :: twitches ::

And I think SOMEONE IN THE MMP has given me Teh Sick! :dubious: :: sneeze ::

Is it really even friendship? Or just infatuation? And I’m being neither sarcastic nor snarky here – I realize this is not a rhetorical question, and that it may be truly difficult to figure out what the answer really is.
But judging by your past recollections here (which I know does not give us a full picture) my vote is for infatuation rather than true friendship. YMMV. Or not.
I guess time will tell… in a year’s time, after you’ve been in Korea for a while, you’ll know whether you really are/were friends or not.

No matter how I look at this, though (again, through the window you’ve given us… so I guess it’s quite possible I’m missing something,) I do not see how this is love. Certainly not from his side.

Hope you feel better!! ::sticks a bowl of chicken soup in the CD drive to help fight off Teh Sick::

Don’t look at me like that, young lady. It wasn’t me. I still have plenty of Teh Sick. In fact, Nooner will be prising it from my cold dead fingers at this rate.

We were friends a good while before we started hooking up, Noone. And if we really only cared about the sex, it wouldn’t explain a lot of other things - like how he goes out of his way to look after my brother, or tells me how painful it is to be estranged from his own. I’m not trying to defend him, but our friendship is something that I’ve never doubted despite all the shit that’s happened.

If I’m going to be physically manhandling you, I’d much rather you were still alive!

It’d be much more fun that way, but with the amount of wheezing and coughing going on, I get the feeling I’m not long for this world!

BTW, haven’t answered your email 'cos it’s on my machine at home and I meant to forward it back here this morning but I got sidetracked by a cat demanding attention.

Like I said – the window we had on this whole story definitely seems to have an obstructed view… You’re the one there, and you’re the one who really knows what’s going on. We only know what you choose to tell us.

The way you describe it now, it sounds more like a “friends with benefits” scenario – which I find no problem at all with, in general, but not when one of these friends is in what should be a committed relationship – that’s (to me) the kicker in this whole story.
These FWB situations don’t usually (AFAIK) turn into LTRs, though.
So… I’d say – you had fun. That’s good. On your end, I definitely would chalk it down to “had a good time; no harm, no foul.” So don’t hit yourself to hard over the head for this whole thing.
Just don’t think it’s likely, or ever was, to be more than that.
His side of the equation? Basically, that’s his problem (although maybe it should have come up as part of the “friendship” aspect of your relationship… but that’s another story.)

LiLi, the restaurant in question in Danforth Dragon. Not sure where in the Beaches you’re located, but here’s their delivery map… looks like you might be in luck.

We ordered Hakka Chow Mein and Manchurian Beef based on a friend’s recos, and both were quite tasty (the beef is an alarmingly bright red colour, but don’t be scared - it’s not all that spicy).

I spilled half my coffee on my desk this morning. Ugh. Clearly, to avoid mishaps like this, I need to be fully caffeinated before I attempt to drink large cups of coffee… but how can I caffeinate in the first place when my source of caffeine comes in large cups of coffee? This, my friends, is a quandary worthy of a Twilight Zone episode.

Morning Mumpers! I am apparently off today. I see an exciting day of laundry and food shopping, and cleaning.

Muppet, the do make caffeine IV’s.

:waves at gt:

Welcome Mr. Soapy! Since you are both online, who’s going to be the axe murderer in the relationship?

It’s only Wednesday morning people. Save the necrophilia for Friday night, please.

Mahna - I spilled my coffee too! ON MY HAND. IT HURTS. :smack:

Morning, all. It is just gorgeous here this morning – low 60s, sunny, clear, spring at its finest. I hope spring sticks around for a while this year if this is what it’s going to be like!

Appropriate/inappropriate greetings to all. No time for more right now; I’ve got to set aside Ms. Stupid and work on congressional [del]drivel[/del] testimony today. Oh frabjous day. Actually, it IS kind of a relief – which tells you know how much I hate Ms. Stupid if I prefer listening to congress[del]idiots[/del]people blather on!

The answer is caffeinated soap. In the shower. In the morning.

No joke. It’s real.
Thanks for the recommendation. I’ve bookmarked the page, and next time one of reaches for the Ho-Lee Chow menu, I’ll whip it out. Although… we’re one street east of Main. :frowning: I’ll phone and ask if they’re flexible. One street! That’s not far!

The food in most of Toronto is really good. For some reason, the food in our immediate area sucks badly, except for Ed’s Real Scoop, which has wonderful ice cream.

<smugly self-righteous> I have already vacuumed, cleaned the kitchen and done some yardwork before breakfast. Now I have 2 quick errands to run and then it’s out in the yard time for me. It’s a glorious day, folks. 62 and sunny with a mild northwest breeze. High today is 72. I done died and gone to heaven.

Thank god that paper’s done and I can enjoy this guilt free (except for a response question, but I have to have that done by Sunday-no biggie.)

Sorry for Teh Sick, but mayhaps it’s spring allergies?

But I don’t have allergies. :: whine ::

I think the sniffles have ceased, at any rate.

Watching American Idol yesterday inspired me to learn how to play the chords for “Think of Me” from Phantom of the Opera. I can’t sing it in its proper key - or I can, but I’d have to warm up first. I don’t know how I managed to sing soprano back in the day. I’m definitely more of an alto, or a mezzoalto at best.

Muppet, I’ll have you know that your song just came up in the rotation on my MP3 player.

Blur-frikkin-urf. I had [del]appointment with a vampire[/del] routine blood draw this morning, so I deliberately slept in and went to the Y late to kill time. I’m wiped out despite extra caffeine, and it’s almost lunchtime. This afternoon is gonna be rough.

Not much else to say, which will probably make a bunch of you happy,

Bwahahaha! That’s an awesome line!

Soapy, I met **KeithT **here (on the Dope, not the MMP), and he’s still a lurker. It’s good in that we both get the in-jokes. It’s not-so-good in that, when I need a place to vent, I can’t do it here.

I made the curry chicken last night. Was it **Spaz **or **Smartie **who posted that link last week? Or someone else? Anyway, whoever it was, thanks for posting it. It was reeeeeeeeally good! I liked the spiciness-level, but then again, I don’t really like hot food so it was just right for me. Just a great combination of flavors. And easy, but it takes a really long time to make. So probably more of a weekend dish in the future rather than a weeknight one. I like to be able to put dinner on the table in 30-45 minutes on a weeknight so something that needs to simmer for 1/2 an hour after you do all the prep work is just too long. But I WILL be making it again. The recipe went into the permanent collection.
