Gosh, danceswithcats you have quite a way with words. I could listen to you talk wiring all day.
You should get him started on fire safety. The man’s positively eloquent.
Aroo? If you’re referring to me there, I left Virginny almost two years ago–there was some guy in Miami who wanted me to come live there for some reason or other. We’re moving back to the USA now.
Georgia is the USA?
Oops. For some reason I thought you were still in NoVA. Looks like I haven’t been paying attention.
I suggest “Yes. He was behind the couch the whole time.”
Gotta be done, and soon, then. It may be expensive, but not excessively so, given what you paid for the house. And electricians in Marietta are surely way cheaper than electricians in the DC megalopolis, so you’ll come out OK.
Yeah, I just had a plumber in (not an assistant…a real plumber) to help connect the new Washer/Dryer to some pipes.
$17.50 an hour.
How weird is THAT?
That’s how cheap skilled labor is in the middle of nowhere.
Having been where I’ve been, my recurring thought is, “Bristol on the Ohio.” That’s where you are.
So how’s Lady Chance’s pregnancy going?
Fine, thanks for asking. 4 and a half months to go (give or take). We’ve had loads of trouble making her insurance work with telecommuting from another state but it’s all good now.
Dinner with the Chamber of Commerce next Tuesday I just got invited to. Wish me luck!
Is the Chamber of Commerce this friendly to everyone who moves to Marietta, or is this something special because of your job? If the former, don’t you just love small-town Ohio?
They’re excited about getting a couple from back east to move here. I think they have dreams of setting up Marietta as a telecommuting haven for easterners tired of traffic, crime and overdevelopment.
And I’m example #1.
So how 'bout it, Kim? Wanna go small town again?
Been there, fuck that.
But if it works for you, then more power to ya.
Don’t hold back, man.
Ouch!
Well, maybe you can visit.
