Where the heck is my MMP?

I’m jumping in with a placeholder MMP because I’m having withdrawals.

For a topic, I’ll offer my Easter grumbles. VWife 's lupus is flaring, and I was sent to WallyWorld to get a prescription. WW was open, but the pharmacy was not.

The dump was closed, too. My van is full of trash, waiting for the gates to open.

I suppose I should know better that stuff would be closed, but I didn’t. :smack:

ETA: If i am walking over someone scheduled, please have this merged.

First?

Woohoo!

Sorry your Easter wasn’t good, Bob. Ours went well. The biggest problem was getting all the chocolate off TomKitten, who ate a quarter of a chocolate bunny all himself.
I’m up before everyone else and enjoying the quiet.

Good morning! I spent your Easter at Home Depot where we bought a dining room chandelier, family room pendant lights to replace the can track lights (ick), two kitchen lights and a front entrance way light.

Chandelier is in, two or the three pendants are in and there was much deck demolition.

Sorry about your rough day, Bobbio

Blurf.

A bit hungover, but not too bad. Junior Brown was absolutely fabulous!!! We stuck around for the second band, too, and there was some amazing two-stepping going on, with whirling girls with their cowboy boots.

We got back to our room just after midnight. Why is it even when I can sleep in, I can’t? Woke up at 5:45.

Blurf.

Sorry you had a crappy Easter, Bobbio.

I had a similar issue with the meds, Bobbio. I had to get some Tylenol because I had a headache that wouldn’t quit. The nearest CVS didn’t open until 10 because it was Sunday. I got there at 9:30. I ended up going to the Local Overpriced Grocery Store to get a $3 bottle of generic. Not fun when you have a headache that won’t quit.

I have a semi-busy day planned once SOMEONE gets out of bed. Until then, I offer you the Kosher Chocolate Bunny.

I thought rabbits weren’t kosher… :dubious:

The day wasn’t all bad. Wife made a ham with a beer and honey based glaze that was tastier than I expected. The only downside to it is the glaze doesn’t lend itself to using leftover ham for brekkies.

Howdy Y’all! Sneakin’ in a post from irk. I’m headed out in a bit to do some home visits which should keep me entertained the rest of the day.

BBBobbio I have learned that :eek:Wally*World:eek: pharmacies pretty much close on every holiday even though the rest of the store remains open. Weird, but that’s how they roll.

Tonight is men’s night (postponed from last week due to Holy Week), so I have steaks marinatin’ and beer chillin’.

Ok, back to irk.

Last day of East holiday, then back to irk tomorrow. Last day to sleep in, but the pup had to go out at 6:30. Sigh. I’m definitely tired of the rain and intermittent storms that have been popping up for the last week. I love thunderstorms, however, my joints don’t.

Good morning all! I’m back to work today and having such a fun time (NOT!). LOL Okay, having password problems all over the place. Where is Gotti when I need him, eh?? Our Help Desk is the Unhelp desk, I swear.

At any rate, hope everyone enjoyed their Easter/Passover and had lots of good stuff to eat. We had a small leg o lamb that was quite tasty.

Happy Monday!

Gee, when did MMPs start showing up on Mondays? :stuck_out_tongue:

We’re in the middle of remodeling the kitchen, so we have no sink until Thursday. The whole thing is making my dad super cranky (he doesn’t deal with stress well).

We had a bunch of the family down for Easter. Not at our place, at my uncle’s. I had lunch with most of them on Saturday and several of them came over on Sunday before heading home. That was quite enough for me. Too many people, too much stress.

I’m close to having my new portfolio website done.

Shouldn’t you have done all that during Hanukkah??? :stuck_out_tongue:

Went to the casino for Easter Buffet and ate too much but it was a ton of fun. We had some friends with us and it turned into one of those three hour dinner visits.

Bobbio, I almost had a similar pharmacy issue. I only noticed late Saturday I was out of one my ‘don’t be crazy’ meds. I ordered it by phone and hopes the pharmacy would be open yesterday. Normally I wouldn’t worry, but this particular one (Effexor) really affects me physically if I miss a day - fuzzy head, headaches…

I went to the pharmacy yesterday, I had also forgotten sauerkraut for the Easter duck, and found the pharmacy scheduled to be close, but open!

It wasn’t one of the regular guys working there, it was a young Pakistani girl. I explained that I didn’t expect them to be open. She said they normally are and advertise that, but that on certain (re: Christian) holidays, the company has a lot of other ethnic/religious employees that are more than happy to take the OT and fill in.

So, ok, Happy MMP!

Breakfasted, caffienated and off to sweat with the soccer moms!

:dubious: That is about as strange as needing beer to bake a ham.

I can haz roto-rooter and antibiotix?

I think I’ve gained a bit of a sinus infection on top of the already horrid pollenfest allergies. Debating on going to the doc-in-a-box at the pharmacy.

Other than that, got some artwork framed, got started on landscaping the front yard and am trying to find an office supply shop that actually stocks name badges so we can produce nametags for an event this weekend. Looking like the only option is to have Amazon overnight them.

No chocolate easter bunnies here, but we do have a bunny in the back yard. Smart little bugger. It seems to know the length of the dog’s tie-out down to the inch so it can safely drive the dog bonkers.

And yes, I said it.

BUNNY!

Good… uhh… afternoon! Wow. Time flies when you’re having fun. Or not.

We had a fantastic Easter. The kids woke up to their baskets, which included speakers, a small Bubba mug, and toys. We all went to church. The place was packed. I wish it could be like that every Sunday morning. We went to the store and got stuff for lunch and dinner, came home, and promptly took naps. We woke up too late to get spaghetti on, so we went out. Then we stayed up late cleaning and getting my new desk and chair together.

It’s going to be an extremely long week. I’m massively behind in my job with one week to finish. I had a huge project to finish at the beginning of the month, then I got sick, then I had to help interview for my old position. I’m getting help: I hope it’s enough.

Good morning! Easter was spent at the old folks’ house in Sequim. The ferry ride over was quick-snap. The ride back, not so much. We had a 2 boat wait. We first stopped a mile from the Kingston city limit. Hubby napped, I listened to music, so the time went fast.

Dinner was pretty forgettable. The folks are in their 80s so, they seem to prefer beige food.
We had over cooked, dry ham, mashed white potatoes, macroni salad, undercooked green beans, deviled eggs, made with just mayo and white, cold, hard rolls. It all came as a pre-made dinner from QFC.

I wouldn’t complain, since they’re not able to cook any more, but in years past, hubby and I went over the day before, shopped, then cooked, but now they have a live-in, who does all the cooking. She’s not so good.

Happy Monday y’all!

We gotta go to a meeting tonight and be all dramatic.
See, they’re in the process of turning the old Newberg Central School building into a, or I should say, ‘the’, Cultural Center.
It’s in the next block from our house. We can see the front door from our porch.
Naturally we have an interest in what they are doing over there and have been involved in it’s developement somewhat. (understatement).
Well, we were surprised a few months ago to be invited to a ‘visioning’ event at the library one evening to ‘brainstorm’ about the final form for the surrounding area.
I say we were surprised because we already had a plan for the surrounding area, all signed off on by the city, et. al., or so we thought.

Major bone of contention: That plan included parking for, IIRC, 95 vehicles. Not enough, really, considering that the new Cultural Center will contain a 200+ seat theater plus a ballroom/event space large enough for 300+ people, (the old gym). But we thought we could work with that.
The new ‘vision’ that they (a consulting firm from New York) came up with only had 55 parking spaces at the venue, and involved redesigning the surrounding streets for ‘on street parking’. Much of it back-in angled parking. Never mind the fact that I’ve seen the people of my little town try to park, and it ain’t pretty. The major problem with moving the parking into the surrounding neighborhood is, that the surrounding neighborhood is occupied by, well, neighbors. This is an old, (emphasis on ‘old’), established neighborhood, with small, or sometimes no, driveways. On any given evening our street, and all the other streets around here, is already pretty much filled with cars that belong to, guess who? The neighbors.

Several people have tried to say “wait a minute!”, but they just say, “oh, we’re just ‘visioning’ here. When we’re all done ‘visioning’ you’re gonna just LOVE it!”
Tonight is supposed to be the final meeting, and they haven’t shone any signs of listening to anybody except their consultants about anything.

We shall have to rise up in revolt, I fear.

Additional background: I only explained the parking problem, there are a number of other bones of contention* in their ‘vision’, but the parking is the one that most everybody agrees on. We all hate it.

*For instance; they want to tear down the Library annex (ugly old building) and put up a ‘stage’ I guess you’d call it, for outdoor plays and things, thereby reducing the value of that plot of land by at least $100,000.00. I’m agin it, but others don’t care about that.

What happened to our other parking spaces from the original plan, you ask? Damned if I know. They seem to have become sculptures and stuff. I Dunno.

This is not good for my blood pressure.

It’s the perfect side dish, in fact the only way I ever eat sauerkraut is with duck.

Oh, wait - on a grilled bratwurst at a ball game.

And pancakes.

Ok, that last one was a joke.

CatDude don’t forget on a sauerkraut sundae.

I’m not a sauerkraut fan except on a reuben or cooked with Polish sausages.

Howdy Y’all! I’s home from T’ville. Yet again. I have been to T’ville more in the past couple of weeks than anyone who does not live there ought to.

Bumba be sure to take your cane and a pointy stick to the meetin’. That way you can hit 'em over the haid and jab 'em at the same time.

Limey send some of those storms down heah please. We need the rain!

I’m chillin’ with an ice cold sodywater 'til time to go chow on steak and drink beer.

Later Y’all!
