It has finally happened. AARP sent me membership cards. I intend to send them back coated in KY Jelly.
Changes are afoot at work. More later, once I’m home.
Looking forward to vacation on Wednesday. It can’t come soon enough for me.
CatMan: Easter duck? Sauerkraut? Do tell!
Someone stole my neighbor’s scooter last night (the kind that people with DUIs drive). He was pissed this morning. That’s his mode of transportation and now he has to bum rides to and from work. I fully expect to see him roaming the streets tonight with a baseball bat looking for the person who stole his ride. The Boys tell me that a couple of days ago someone stole his swim trunks off the bush in front of his apartment. He left them there to dry. Who steals a pair of swim trunks?
Needless to say, we are now making extra sure the downstairs doors are locked whenever we leave.
I had much trouble getting started this morning - I think I slept too much over the weekend, resulting in my being wide awake at 4am - but not at 6am when the alarm went off. My dreams during that two hour span were voiced by the weather and traffic guys. I finally pulled myself together and was only 20 minutes late for work.
Now all I want to do is sleep again. I am always ALWAYS sleepy.
I wonder if the Cymbalta is doing that? I have an appointment with that doc tomorrow - I will ask him.
Hope the rest of the week goes smoothly for all
Afternoon!
Today has been my first day as stand-in-boss. I like being a manager I am good at it. However I do not tolerate girly bitchyness and I had a pile of it this morning from our admins. They were told in no uncertain terms to get over themselves and grow up. I told my boss when he called at lunch to ask me to chase something for him to be ready for some complaints but at least the work was getting done. He laughed and said “I knew there was a reason I like you”
Other than that nuttin else going on…
Hey! I’m alive! Daughter is alive and home! Beaker, sadly, is truly dead this time. But he’s been replaced by Beaker MkII, who looks much heartier. Daughter is cleaning the terrarium. **FCD **is playing with the remote for the new tower fan I bought for the living room. Life is good.
**BBBobbio **- here’s a helpful linkfor you!
Boss was back to work today, and he called the “chalk outline” a classic. I love my boss - Have I mentioned that?
Not much else to share - I’m exhausted. I was so worried about my daughter getting home safely, I hardly slept till I saw the lights of her taking her dog out - at 3AM… so I got a whopping 2 hours sleep. Melatonin tonight.
Oh, big news - today it’s a year since almost-ex-SIL left, so it’s the final part of the path to divorce. Daughter signed some paperwork and gave her lawyer some money. Almost-ex will be served probably before the week is out, and once he signs whatever needs to be signed, she and one of us will go sign statements that he has not lived with her for a year, and at that point, it’s presented to the judge for dissolution. This could all be over in 3 or 4 weeks. So yay!
And that’s all the news that’s fit to print. Kisses!!
Happy MMP, everyone!
We went out and voted at the advance poll on Friday, and will likely do it again, as parking was easy and there wasn’t much of a line. So that’s done, and we just need to wait a week for the results.
I spent part of Saturday and all Sunday sanding the floor in the master bedroom, after She Who Must be Obeyed decided that it needed to be refinished as part of the renovation. Tiring, but the floor now looks spiffy and clean. It’s the 50-year-old original oak, so should look very nice when it’s all done.
As a downside, however, I had to get up early this morning even though it was a work holiday for me, so as to return the sander to Home Despot before they charged another day on the rental.
Cooked a nice rib roast for supper. Loblaws has been putting them on sale a lot recently, and we’ve been taking advantage to stock the freezer. It will provide a couple of meal’s worth of leftovers, so SWMbO won’t have to cook as much during the week - always welcome. No eggs/bunnies/chocolate though, as we are both dieting.
So…what kind of changes, Shadow? Good ones, I hope.
Hey, Bookie, sounds like you had a productive weekend. I really need to do something similar to my floors. They’re getting painted because they’ll eventually be a subfloor, but still, the carpet needs to be taken up and they need to be sanded a bit.
Glad The Kid made it home safely and will be divorced soon, FCM.
I’m tired, but I’m in the midst of starting another pair of socks… Guess I’ll knit a few more rows and then it’s off to beddie bye…
Hugs all.
GT
I barely made it home today. Cramps and a backache. Gah.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 66 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 90 and still no rain. Where’s the rain they keep talkin’ about!
Yay for almost divorce and daughter bein’ home safe MOOOOOOM!
Bookie just think, now that the floors look spiffy, the walls could use a new coat of paint.
mmmmmms good for you for usin’ the pointy stick to get stuff done!
spaz they stole somebody’s used swim trunks? EEW!
Rosie hope the doc figures out the sleep thing for ya.
We had a large and in charge time at men’s night last night. We had steak, sallit, green beans (it was an experiment. we (the two of us who dreamed it up) seared some strips of bacon, sauteed some Vidalia onions in the bacon renderin’s, then laid the strips of bacon in a pan, put the beans on top of the bacon, poured the sauteed onions on top and mixed 'em all up in the beans, added a little salt and pepper and put 'em in the oven about 15 minutes. NUMMY!), and bizkits. Oh and beer.
Ok, time for more caffiene and brekkie for rumbly tummy. Then, alas, irk purtification must commence.
Happy Tuesday Y’all!
Up…reluctantly…
Welcome back, STG; sorry you weren’t feeling well yesterday; hope today is better.
swampy, we have your rain. Please come and get it!
No one remembered sauerkraut cake?
Happy Tuesday, all!
GT
That makes me hungry, swampy, and it’s only seven here.
Yawn. Rainy and quiet here. I woke at 3 and worried. Not about anything in particular, just worrying. Time for tea and breakfast.
G’morning all! Happy Tuesday, after today it will be three more till the weekend!
I’m running a little late this morning - a lot late actually. It will have to be a Rosie’s .sig to all, I’m afraid.
Hope everyone has a good day today.
Blurf.
Rode my bike to irk today, thus assuring rain this afternoon.
Carry on.
Dunno about Easter Rabbits, but here is our Eastern Rabbi (OK, the link calls him the “Sephardic” Rabbi – which basically means the Middle Eastern (as opposed to European) one…)
Next week I have to fly to Holland for work-related stuff. Again. Rah…
Howdy y’all from East Albeeeeny Medical Center. Woo and Hoo. I am so boooooooooooored! At least I get paid to be bored right?
That is all.
At work but not totally at work because
KNOEBELS
OPENS
SATURDAY!!!
I’m leaving Thursday so I can visit some kinfolk on the way. I have survived winter yet again and the call to celebrate is strong. WOOHOO!!!
SOAPY - have you heard if your co-worker is going? With Black Diamond not being open I don’t know if she’ll make the trip or not.
Changes at work: rearranging the office physically (lots of drama possibilities here) and I will be moving in to a new role. My boss was vague, but we’ve discussed the possibilities before. It’s not something I want, but it will look good on the resume, I suppose.
10 hours to vacation! 24 hours until I’m on the plane! I still have to pack and make the final decision about which shawls I’m taking. The truly important part of a knitting retreat is showing off your work, the more elaborate, the better.
Pardon my absence from the MMP, been down in West Virginia helping take care of my Mother, & going home Thursday. Miss my Papa Bear and my kitty!
blurf.
Work had donuts.
