A Maine Vacation MMP - yeah, summer time, y'all!

I must have missed a memo that today was Leave Your Brain At Home Day.

The stupid just oozes out of the emails that I’ve received today and has stained my desk.

Oh well… It hasn’t been a complete bust of a day. At lunchtime, I was able to dash off to the restaurant supply shop and pick up a big jar of bay leaves for less than five bucks, and a pork roast is merrily spinning in the rotisserie. Last night, we went bowling, and I managed to roll a 137, even though I’m still not convinced that the finger holes are the right size.

Well, damn. Just imagine my big brownish/golden/greenish eyes just lookin’ all sad and glistening with unfallen tears. Now can I have some goodies?

Knitting the evening away. Well, not exactly knitting. I’m doing the afghan stitch, which is a combination of knitting and crocheting. It makes a nice warm afghan, and the yard I’m using is really soft - it’ll be a really nice kidlet coverlet.

Spring, my Aunt Fannie!! It’s dropping into the 30s tonight! That doth well and truly sucketh!

That’s all. I’m gonna log off, then do some more afghanin’ before I zonk out.

*Kisses!! *

You mean like this?

ETA: MOOOOOOM What’s your Aunt Fannie done to need springin’ for? :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s me again! I just want to assure everybody that there will be a MMP. I have just finished composin’ it. I’m sure y’all are anxiously awaitin’ the latest ruminations from swampland.

Well yes, if it it’ll work. I know none of my girlish charms will work on you:p

Ahh, spring…one day, they predict possible storms, the next day…possible snow. Yep, that’s March. Today, though, was beautiful, up around 50F and bright and sunny. And it’s not supposed to freeze tonight. Weird. Of course, even in August here it can drop below 50 at night…best sleeping weather ever.

It has occurred to me that my life right now is really boring. But I kinda like it. The highlight of today was finding that my hair is finally long enough I can pull it back! I’ve still got a couple of pieces hanging down in front of my ears but the majority of it can be yanked out of the way. It makes for a dinky ponytail, but I don’t care, it’s getting longish. Yay! I’ve only been growing it for months now. Hopefully it’ll start growing faster what with warmer weather arriving and all.

Hey, I said my life is boring. It’s bedtime. I have to work tomorrow. Bleah.

AAAAAHHHHH! The Keene Eyes are contagious!

I was frightened to see a line of greeting cards featuring overly large-eyed puppies and kittens earlier this week when I was at the drugstore. I wanted to burn them all.

The very definition of “puppy dog eyes”

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ here. Also just discovered I won the coffee feud!

Taters you’re right. Your girlish charms won’t work. Perhaps you could ask gotti to persuade me with his mannish charms. :stuck_out_tongue:

Speakin’ of which, gotti as far as I am concerned, the creepiest, most nightmare producin’, evil of “cute” is Precious Moments. Those bug eyed childrens are just skeeery!

Ok, in need of more caffiene and some brekkies. I must get those cheese thangs over to the church by noon or hoardes of card playin’ little old ladies may storm da cave.

Later Y’all!

swampy, this is creepy. Which leads to a funny story:
Last game, I told the women in our group that they couldn’t use the one lady’s room, because having to wait and be stared at by Linda’s ad at the entrance was creeping me out. Last night DC, his wife, and another girl were leaving, and were approaching that restroom. DC’s wife stopped about 20 yards away and told us “You stay here, we’re going to the bathroom.”, so DC and I stopped. Just then 2 ladies walked by and commented, “Wow they have you well trained!”. anyway, I’m caffeinated, and off to watch practice, then Gordie goes to the DOG PARK!, the the Caps tailgate. I need to go back to work, so I can relax.

snowbunny, boring is good. excitement leads to 80 hour work weeks.

P.S. swampy, are you hoarding old ladies again?

Mornin’ everyone.

I have declared that today is Pruning and Housework Day, because the house is a mess and the pruning really should get done ASAP while the trees are still hibernating.

I know… you all wish your life was as exciting and glamorous as mine.

LiLi, I went through my stash last night and have much fabric to bring to your house tomorrow… and also a little seedling tray which has been sown with two kinds of heirloom 'maters (miniature yellow plum and full-size red stripe).

Yay for all the interviews… fingers crossed that everyone gets the job(s).

Morning, y’all. Apparently, I’m feeling Southern this morning.

Spaz, I forgot to say last night, I think Facebook lets you filter your friends now. I haven’t looked at the detail, but read about it somewhere and found this.

I’ve been up knitting for a while, had breakfast, need to have some more tea.

All those eyes are skeeeeeeeeeeery.

So, what you’re saying, snowbunny, is that your life currently consists of watching your hair grow?

Glad you found the camera, rosie. So…where are the pictures??? :stuck_out_tongue:

Gotta go do some park stuff, then it’s off to a meeting and then probably some gardening.

Back later. Happy Saturday, all!

GT

Thanks, Muppet! I’m going through my stash this afternoon. I think I have (know I have) lots of stuff I am never ever going to use.
I refuse to look at the animals with big eyes. Nope.

Chores (vacuuming, bathroom scrub, going through Insane Fabric Stash), nap, Loud Shouty Friend over for dinner, Muppet and That Boy here tomorrow, possible attack of QD later? I should make The Pioneer Woman’s sheet cake today. Nat’s tired and grouchy and clingy, prone to random tearful meltdown, which is what he’s doing right now, because Mr. Lissar closed the bathroom door, and didn’t take him into the shower.

G’morning all, up and thoroughly caffeinated this morning. And watching FarmerChick’s latest vid of her aminals - this time, one of her sheepdogs and the baby goats. So cute! Glad to see that the kids are doing well too.

I am easily distracted this morning … I can’t even remember what I wanted to write about, or who I was going to comment to. :frowning: Maybe I’m not as thoroughly caffeinated as I thought! :stuck_out_tongue: Uh … okay, I know who is good at remembering them - just take a look at GT’s post, and a huge kudo and thank you in advance for letting me borrow from her memory. The old-timers is getting the better of me this morning. I think.

MaMaTigs, if you’re out there, we miss ya, and hope you’ll be back soon!

That’s all I got for now. I’m going to crochet a bit, then read a bit, then hopefully watch the Maryland-Memphis game this afternoon. No, I don’t have any particular teams, just like UMD.

doggio it’s good to hoard old ladies. Then when you need somebody to be hit with an oversized handbag, you’ve got a ready supply. BTW is that person a drag queen?

Cheese thangs have been delivered and a Wendy’s Baconator consumed.

Since I am workin’ a little later on today, I think I deserve a nappy poo.

Later Y’all!

More or less…yep. But it does make me happy. I’m weird, I know.

Checking in…

I’ve been at work - well, I still am, but I’m leaving. I got the changes done in record time! Yay!

Now I can go home and do chores. Whoopee.

Happy Saturday!

Evenin’ all. HRH finally went to sleep at 8:30pm (another hour and a half not-sleepy, DON’T LEAVE ME, bedtime routine) and I am ezzzzausted. Long day and back to work tomorrow. Laterzzzzz

Drag queens have more pride than that.
