Well the week from hell with four Moandays is finally over. I have decided not to irk this weekend as I need a break. Speaking of breaks hubby is goimg away next week to a class in Orlando just for a couple of days but i am glad. I need a break from him. Just for a few days.
Today marks 4 weeks since I quit smoking and I know I have been bitchy but it is getting easier. Maybe i am just a bitch anyway and this is the real me
I pulled up a lawn chair when a red neck pick up driver stopped in front of the rental house and began an argument with a girl who wanted to go into a house across the street. I wanted him to know there would be a witness if he killed her.
“You’re nothin’ but a drug addict and a whore!”
“I am not a drug addict!”
I did not inquire about prices.
She eventually escaped into the house across the street.
My renter tells me that the residents were later arrested for making meth.
Up too early for a Saturday. Such is life. It’s a cool morning, and in a bit, I’ll don grubbies, load up the wagon with tools and plants, and commence to purtifying the hill. The mulching will be the most time-consuming part, but at least it shouldn’t be too painful. We shall see…
**FCD **had a bit of a crisis yesterday when his computer did a bunch of updates - he lost access to a program he uses for work. Panic ensued till he called a coworker and borrowed a disc that appears to have resolved the problem. Windows 10 - making life more annoying since it was launched… I think that’s the main thing keeping me from looking at a new computer - I’m quite happy with Win7. I know it’s inevitable, but I’ll hold out as long as I can.
As far as other chores for today - I need to clean the critter fountain and do 2 loads of laundry. And I should push the vacuum around, since I didn’t do that yesterday. Or I can save it for tomorrow. For now, tho, I’ll surf.
Awake on my day off at 0500. Ain’t right. I do have stuff to do today like the usual housework and laundry and maybe grocery store. We shall see if I do anything but be a lazy slug. Tahred from my four day week.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 71 Amurrkin out and foggy with a predicted high of 87 and mostly cloudy for the day. TWPTB now say no rain until tomorrow. :dubious: This afternoon I shall go assist a lady at my church with movin’ to another apartment at the place where she lives. She lives in a recently built complex for senior citizens. She moved into a two bedroom because the one bedroom part was still bein’ built. She can now move into a one bedroom which is right across from where she is now so the move should be easy. Several of us from the church are goin’ to go help. Some stuff has already been moved so I’m told this will be only a couple of hours. We shall see. Still glad to be able to help as she is a very sweet person. Other than that who knows what the day will bring.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy want to be fed. Then I suppose I should purtify and move on with the day.
It’s a bit cool out now, 61 degrees, but supposed to warm up to 80.
It looked a bit like it was going to rain earlier, but now it’s N.O.S. outside.
One of the FHND (F’Holes Next Door) was outside my windows, again, just after midnight, yelling for somebody to unlock the door and let him in. I don’t know dude, seems to me that if they keep locking you out they are trying to send you a message.
Today is mulch the front yard day.
I have a long list of things that need to be done and it’s time we started hacking away at it.
I was going to tackle some yardirk today but my sinuses are raising a protest. I neti potted them but if this doesn’t stop I may have to resort to Benadryl.
Still morning. I’ve planted 2 pots of shasta daisies, a flat of a dozen marigolds, and 2 pots of pink dianthus. I made a rock edge along part of the garden, and I’ve mulched about half of the front portion of the bed. Taking a break before finishing the other half of that bed. I may leave the side bed for tomorrow 'cause I’s tahred and it’s still partially mulched from last year.
While I was out there, the cable guy was working on the box on our corner. I asked if he was there because the internet was out, and he said that it shouldn’t be. Then he checked something, said “I know what’s wrong” and took off. As I was finishing, he came back and said we’re good again, which we are. Yay! I don’t know his name, but I’m going to send a nice comment to the cable company.
While scooping up mulch from the pile under the magnolia, I unearthed a bunch of little snakes. They’re about a foot long, maybe 3/8" in diameter, and pinkish gray. Anybody know about identifying snakes?
I should have some lunch, but that would require me to get up. Dunno if I can manage it. Oh, my aching back!!!
