The smilies don’t even center on (I assume) higher resolutions.
The explaination is that whether or not anyone noticed there was somewhat of a story involved. As I got into it I realized that I could possibly use one each of all the smilies. The Jewish smilie is the only ethnic figure and this presented a problem, but no different a problem than if it had been Chinese, Native American, Afro-American, Eskimo or whatever. It is a perceived idea (IMHO) that Israel does not give much slack to terrorists, so after the explosion in the story I had the entry of {b]terrorists?** and then the Jewish smilie. The statements all along were short, so I couldn’t have him say “Did terrorists do this?” or something like that.
They don’t center, Sterra, because John487 doesn’t use coding in his posts (I know from having quoted one in this thread).

So, while the new semester won’t likely phase him, perhaps a few recent posts of his without the “signature” coding indicate he’s garnered the impression that the trick is OK to make a point here and there, but being a one-trick pony consigns one to the white noise pretty quickly.
There’s no reason why older people can’t go to school. Hell, half of my community college’s population consists of people over 50.

for myself, the issue isn’t about the posting style per se, it’s that a reasonable request was made by a moderator and blown off by a poster who’s announced their intention to find other ways to annoy.
And, one wonders why that would be the aim. It’s over and above politeness (forbid anyone do something out of politness).

Having 600+ posts is nothing significant, but the fact that the type of post under discussion here amounts to less than 30 of those, so I don’t think that is sufficent to use the term “one-trick pony”. However, I am not dismissing the remark as meaningless and agree that I was using it to an excess. Part of it was practice and part the novelty of something new and also as far as I could see then and even now, it seems to be something that had not been done before.
I have this notion that Euty was telling me to slow down, not stop. As to my recent posts, you are right, but also most of them have been either here or in MPSIMS where I promised not to do it for a week.
On one, maybe two threads Ben and I have had our disageements and it was probably as much or more my doing. However, in his posts on this thread he showed absolutely no sign of malice when he made the second post to this thread and in the fourth post it was not until the end that he made a nonprovoking reference to our unfortunate disagreements. He easily could have torn me a new one at the first of this thread. I think he is to be commended for that and I thank him.
In what I referred to as my “masterpiece” I also conspired to assassinate the moderators that had assembled on that thread. Perhaps I did such a poor job that it was not noticed and therefore I will now be summarily court-martialed or it was recognized as a joke. I don’t think that detop thought I was serious about finding another way to get on a moderators nerves[sup]footnote[/sup]. I don’t think you took me seriously, but I could be wrong. I previously mentioned posting on MPSIMS since this thread started and the reason was that I wanted to show in action that what I said was no more than a joke.
