A minute ago, I shaved off my goatee.

I know there’s one picture from the DopeToberFest that shows me with hair on my chin. (BTW Esprix, no dye in my hair; the gel made it darker.) I’ve just shaved it off. Frankly, the moustache was bugging the hell out of me. So off came the moustache. off came the beard. I left a soul patch under my lip though.

Comfy, isn’t it? Go outside and experience the wind.

When I first ditched my mustache many years ago I noticed that my friends and coworkers knew something was different, but many just couldn’t quite put their finger on what it was.

And it only took a few weeks to learn how to not cut my nose while shaving.

Goatees always make me think of Colonel Sanders.

Wait here, while I go for a bucket of wings.

I thought of that, but my moustache was blonde and my beard was brown. I did get two “Burl Ives” comments. I’d been twirling the ends and they thought of that xmas show.

It won’t be hard living without it. I only had it for about 2 1/2 months.

So long as you still have a decent profile once the thing is gone, more power to you!

I tried shaving off my goatee once… and then promptly found that without it, I realy don’t have much in the way of a chin  I quickly re-grew it.

Nah…I couldn’t shave it clean. There’s just too much facial real estate not to have some landscaping.

Without my goatee, I look like Seinfeld’s Newman. No thank you…

WUSS!

I shaved off my 24 year-old beard for Ohiodope. Left the mustache. Still sporting the 'stache. Trying it out for a while.

My guy shaved off his goatee the other night, it is hard to get used to having no hair on his face. But I like it .

I’ve had a beard for more than half my life.
Have no intention of shaving it off.

Betcha it’s chilly when you step outside now, huh?

Hmmm…I had goatee for a couple years (w/out the moustace, though) then shaved it before heading off to college. Now, about a year and a half later, I’m thinking of growing it out again. I go to school in NY, and it gets damn cold in the winter!

I like goatees. I wonder how I’d look with one?

I wore a goat for the last few months and just shaved it off a couple of days ago. For some reason, it only itched when I was trying to get to sleep.

(PS- I’ve had a moustache since 1972, and have only shaved it off twice. Once, some other guys and I all shaved our 'staches down to little “Hitler”-type things one Halloween after too much ethanol. God, did that look stupid.)

What a coincidence! I grew one today!

OH NOOOOOOOO!

I thought it was very distinguished, and handsome, and sexy.

Well, at least this way I will recognize you when I see you. I apologize for not recognizing you right at first at DTF. Honestly, I am not lying. The goatee confuzzled me. But…I really liked it, and I am sorry to see it go.

When you moving up here, ya’ big lug?

[sub]Better be soon, it is LONELY up here without you![/sub]

I think this website may be of some use.

That’s because it is easier to see something different that has appeared than something different that has been removed.

This happened to a coworker of mine a few years back. He had a full beard for as long as I had worked with him, then he showed up one day and it was gone. I didn’t even notice it was gone, but was wondering what was different about him. It took me 2 days to realize it was gone.

I may decided to shave off my goatee, but I could never get away with shaving off the moustache. Mrs. D would never forgive me. (I grew the moustache for her when we first met).

Another one. At one point in college I had a full beard and mustache. One night I shave my chin and neck so I had muttonchop sideburns and a mustache. The next morning one of my roommates and I were bumbling around in the kitchen and she finally asked me, “How did you grow those sideburns overnight?”
