A Moving CDO MMP

**BBBobbio **- Look what I found… It’s a few years old, but it looks like it’s a possibility. YOIKS!!

Me too. I will usually mine GQ or IMHO for fact/opinions on products I’m considering buying, but for the most part I prefer not to interact with a lot of those people out there.

STG: I pretty much stick to the MMP, too, although there are certain posters whose OPs are pretty consistently interesting and reasonably safe. If people start piling on unexpectedly, I just leave the thread.

 Bobbio, that doesn’t sound like fun.

Sorry about the icky work stuff for both you and Culinary Boy, Spaz. Hope he finds something new very soon and hope the trembly/dizzies go away fast.

Have things settled down by now, Nava. Your restraint toward Mom, SIL and Spanish IRS is admirable.

Hee, I like Andrew’s advice on cooking, swampy.

People like you are why this place is awesome, Ruble. (Well, it’s actually people like everybody here, but…) It’s amazing how wide a net you can cast through the Dope.

Still thinking about your friend, Soapy.

Hope the Networking Fair gets you something interesting if retirement doesn’t work out this time, FCM.

Had a long and rather stressful day. It was one of those days when being a supervisor isn’t fun. I had to counsel one of my direct reports about how to handle one of her employees who was being an unprofessional baby. Neither of us has time for babysitting.

Got quite a bit done, just not what I’d hoped to get to. Didn’t really stop moving from 8:30-6:15, except for about a 1/2 hour lunch . Need to finish some stuff for a Thursday-morning presentation tomorrow. Or else.

Tomorrow promises to be really busy as well.

Off to figure out dinner.

Hugs.

The state of Maryland may decide to nuke the VunderLair from outer space. I hate those damn pesky fire ants! I am constantly poisonin’ their beds. Looks like all I do is send 'em to the neighbors down the road while neighbors up the road send 'em on down to me. GRRRRRRR… The large and in charge city of Ashburn and greater Turner County, Jawja actually have a Fire Ant Festival. IMO Ashburn and greater Turner County should also be nuked from outer space. The noive!

Dindin was teh num! I forgot we also had watermelon. YUM! I bought it on Satiddy and promptly forgot about it. Yeah, I’m real smart. I forgot about a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig ass melon settin’ in the beerator.

ETA: Hope the work stuff resolves itself soon for CulinaryBoy and you Spaz! OOH! I have an AgonyAunt Ryl to go read!

Fire ants!!! Yeesh, so glad we don’t have them here. I hope your wife recovers quickly, Bobbio.

I spent the day in training, updating and learning some new things about a personnel and costing system we use. Two more days of training to go and then I’m supposed to be off on Friday. I hope I’m still off; my division chief may call me in to work on a Joint Incentive Funding analysis.

My son kicked ass on his senior culmination project boards today. One of his evaluators was the district superintendent.

Other than that, I got nothing but hugs, kisses, and gropes as needed or wanted.

Yay for TatersSon!

Fire Ant FESTIVAL??? :eek::eek::eek::eek:

Dinner tonight? Ritter chocolate with hazelnuts (just a couple of squares) and 1/2 a glass of red wine. Yum.

I’ve been surfing from bed because my achilles tendon started bothering me last night, so I’m giving it a rest. Seems to be a bit happier.

Also, I’m in a linky mood. Just watched the day 2 video of Endeavour’s last mission.

Also shared some cool links on Facebook; will share here for those who don’t wander over there: Sunset from the international space station, moonset, and yesterday’s astronomy picture of the day- very cool time lapse video from Tenerife in the Canary Islands (several Mumpers have commented on it over on FB); it’s extraordinary.

Guess I should consider falling asleep. I’ve been kinda nodding off between screens.

Hugs all.

Gonna read for a while then go to bed. My throat’s hurt all day. Stupid weather (my allergies act up whenever the weather changes and lately that seems to be every week.)

I’ve made some good friends through the Dope, I just need to learn to keep my mouth shut sometimes. Usually I can brush it off. I don’t know if it was PMS or what this time, but it was really pissing me off (and I know I’m not as bad as they say - I’ve had too many teachers and employers who thought I great - which means higher than average. ).

Hope your wife is ok, Bobbio.

I’m going out of town tomorrow and forgot about the fresh fruit in the fridge. I have to consume this entire box of raspberries before I go to bed tonight or it will be wasted. More than a handful gives me really bad gas. I’m sure you can see where this is going.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ YAWN 'Tis 48 Amurrkin out (downright cold for this time of year!) with a predicted high of 80 today. Tomorrow we should be around 90 again. Normal weather returneth. Still no rain though. :dubious:

MENTAL NOTE:

Stay upwind of chizzuk.

Yay for TaterSon!

Yep gt, Fire Ant Festival. Them folks ain’t right!

I need more caffiene and pretty soon some brekkie for rumbly tummy. Then, it’s irk purtification once again.

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

Blurf.

VWife is doing OK today. Death to fire ants!

I submitted my application to the local rescue squad for membership. VWife can have all the cows she wants, I’m tired of her saying no. If I stay benched much longer, I’ll have to recertify from scratch.

Good for you, obbio! You should be able to do what you’ve trained to do. I’m glad she’s feeling better from the ant stings.

Fire ants are horrible creatures. Watch this video. Now that’s a rush. Heh.

Quite busy here at irk. I’d better get after it…

I have an interview on Friday! In person, but the good thing about the job is that it’s in a place about 2.5 h from either my house or Mom’s. I imagine I’ll go down the previous day, don’t wanna be getting up at the crack of dawn for a drive down.

The rate isn’t the best I’ve had, but the location is cheaper to live in than others, it’s close enough to come home regularly and it’s a multinational; long term contract, most of the time in this “provinces town” that “big town folk” don’t wanna go to, with “occasional travel, often abroad” (read: much more travel and much more international than most people want to deal with).

If I do get this job, I reserve the right to whine about airports.

Sounds awesome Nava. Good luck!

Nava if it’s what you want, then yay! Go for it! Right to whine about airports granted.

Rebo HEE! So true too! Killin’ fire ants is a rush!

Howdy Y’all! Home a little early from irk. Leftovers for dindin tonight. Pronouns not used in this part of post.

I scored big time today. Coworker gave me a metric butt-ton of yarn - enough to cover most of a kingsize bed when laid out skein by skein. And quite a few batches of matching yarns, plus some miscellaneous colors. Three’s also a huge bag of wool that I’m not sure what I’ll do with. But I’ve got enough for at least 3 large afghans, so huzzah!!

Question for yarnfolk - I have several skeins that had no labels and I’m not sure if they’re wool or acrylic. My idea for testing involves a match - acrylic will melt and wool will burn, right? Or do you know a better way?

Daughter and I are doing Bad Chinese. **FCD **doesn’t feel like eating, which means he’ll probably have a bowl of cereal later.

Yay, **BBBobbio **for joining the squad. Too bad you live way down yonder - no hope of you ever rescuing me. Oh well, your loss.

More later, maybe, if anything happens.

Fire ants are the reason why my nephews and niece refer to me by my first name (and the sister who is not their mother). When Oldest Nephew was a baby, he went to visit his Ninny and Grandpa at their farm in East Kakalak. East Kakalak, as **Bobbio **will I’m sure agree, is a hotbed of fire ants. Ninny taught Oldest Nephew that We Step On Ants. Since in our family dialect, aunt and ant have the same pronunciation, we apparently step on aunts too.

We’re a very informal people. I grew up referring to church ladies and my mom’s boss by their first name. I never knew about the Southern tradition of Miss Firstname for every lady not related to you until I was an adult.

Why Miss Spaz I do declare!

BBBobbio I forgot to say good for you for your decision.

MOOOOOOM I don’t know from acrylic and wool yarn but I like the idea of settin’ fire to 'em. Maybe BBBobbio could come over and watch lest it gets out of control. :stuck_out_tongue: Of course if you set fire to it, then you won’t have yarn to knit/crochet stuff but, hey, we all gotta make sacrifices, right?

**swampy **- you goofball, I’d just snip a sample of each. sheesh… :stuck_out_tongue:

Back from Bad Chinese. It’s clouding over, so I expect rain before long. We closed up the house and turned on the a/c because it was soooooo muggy in here. Now it’s too chilly to suit me, but it’s no longer oppressive.

I dread summer - no chance of opening the house at all. Let’s let spring hang in here a bit longer, please.

Well, that’s just boring!

Home from Evening Prayer at the church house. Looks like bein’ a daddy is wearin’ on YP a bit. Ella is apparently a night owl. Poor thing!

Ok that’s all I got. Time to lie upon the bed and watch teevee.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

I’m glad you did that **Bobbio. **

Another day of training down; one more to go. I still haven’t heard from my division chief, so I am still hoping that Friday will remain my RDO. I’d really like to have it off. I had already given up tomorrow as a day off because of this training.

I am learning quite a few new things and I’ll certainly feel more comfortable using this system now, but still, it’s my b-day tomorrow and for once, I just wanted to take it off. Oh well, it sucks being a grown-up sometimes.

It’s actually very nice outside today. Tomorrow is supposed to be even nicer.
