Hey FCM, I just looked around and found this article on eHow. Sounds like wool will burn to ash while acrylic will burn with a smell and/or melt. Also, you can felt wool, but not acrylic. This discussion also reminded me that wet wool has a distinct smell. (Although I’m not sure how a wet wool blend will smell.) And this article says that wool will dissolve in bleach; blends will partly dissolve. Interesting.
Hope day 2 of the new job was better, mmmmmmmmmmmm.
And hope the eye stuff is clearing up, BooFae.
Sounds like a good opportunity, Nava. Good luck!
Busy work day today, but I got to leave early because I had to be on time for my hair appointment.
Now I’ve been for a walk - because it wasn’t raining out! Yay! - and am pondering food.
**gt **- thanks for researching for me. I’d have googled it eventually, but, well, you know…
Some of the wool which is labeled is really fine - fingering yarn, I think. I’ve never used that before, so I may have an adventure ahead of me when I decide what to do with it. Socks?
Well, time to shower and hit the sheets. I’s tahred.
Here’s where I mention the caveat that gets me out of most Southern conventions: My mom was from New Jersey.
Culinary Boy and I went on a date! We were going to go to Awesome Chinese Place but they went out of business.:mad: There goes vegetarian buffet night. So we went to the neat little pub place down by the VA hospital. He had tempura-battered fish-n-chips and I had a gyro platter. Both were declared excellent. I am teh fulls.
Well, the Mazda is at the mechanics 4 blocks from our house. their estimate was $400.00 and change less than the dealer’s for a rebuilt transmission, and they offer a better warranty too. And they’re 4 blocks away instead of 14 miles. $2400.00 they said. The car’s only worth about $3000.00 when it’s all fixed up. :dubious:
I mowed the yard today and then drove to McMinnville and back, and then went to the elementary school for #2GrandSon’s music thing. (they sang. It was cute.) Then delivered the car to the mechanic and walked home. Then drove to Riteaid to get Wifey some leg cramps stuff and then to Papa Murphy’s to pick up a pizza, 'cause I forgot to get something out of the freezer this morning. Wifey says I’m obsessed with food 'cause i start thinking about dinner when I get up. But if I don’t think about dinner when I get up nothing gets taken out of the freezer in time to thaw, and we end up buying pizza, or having breakfast for dinner. The other night we had ham and eggs. It was good. Last night we had pork sirloin chops and steamed cabbage, ‘cause I took somethin’ out of the freezer.
Oh. About moving. i don’t like to do it.
Actually, when I first saw the OP, I started counting all the places I’ve lived. I got lost somewhere around 1980 and gave up. We’ve lived in our present house for 22 years however, and I pity the poor sod who gits the job of clearing all of this crap away after we’re gone.

Howdy Y’all! Home from irk and got a meatloaf in the oven. I have mac & cheese mixed up and ready to go in the oven in a bit. Green beans, steamed squish and rolls shall complete the menu. !

Well, that’s just creepy as I made meatloaf, green beans and mac-n-cheese for dinner on Monday. No rolls or anything squishy though.
If we keep on this pattern, you’ll spin a bird on Friday. (That is, cook a chicken in the rotisserie.)
We’ve got a promo gig for the Ren Fest tomorrow. Of all the places to invite costumed Renaissance performers, a nuclear power plant would not even be on my list of possibilities, but that’s where we’ll be.
My Hamstermobile is one-eyed right now. One of the fog lights came loose and was knocking around behind the bumper. I took the car to the dealer and they looked at it and said someone hit the bumper hard enough to break the mountings. Ballpark guesstimate is $500-600. Had to be someone else. I’d have remembered hitting someone hard enough to break a light. At least they fixed a minor problem with the traction control for free and tossed in a new gas cap. Not that they like to show random generosity in strange ways, but there’s some “campaign” afoot to update gas caps for some reason.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ YAWN ‘Tis 52 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of around 90 so gettin’ back to normal here weatherwise.
gotti that sucks about the hamstermobile! Actually chikin is tonight but not rotisseried. I’ll grill boneless, skinless chikin boobs to slice up and go on a sallit for dindin. One of my favorite dindins!
Day 4 of 12-day work week done. Exercise starts tomorrow at 0600 - I hope to be out of the house by 0515. Only good thing - the dress code is suspended for the duration of the exercise, so I can be comfy.
I made another strawberry pie - this time in a deep-dish crust with more strawberries. **FCD **is pleased, so yay for that.
I found a twelve-pack of small canning jars at the grocery store for $9. I snatched them up. We Are Getting Strawberries This Weekend And I Am Making Jam. This is important enough for me to capitalize every letter in that sentence.
