A Moving CDO MMP

Ahem.

So are there proportions for the pimento cheese recipe, or was that it, swampy?

Up, sniffly, about to get ready to go off to plant flowers in containers. Yay!

Hugs.

Man, y’all are slacking! How can I be first one here on a Saturday morning? I’m clear out here on the West Coast!

Coffee has been made and I’m on my first cup. Before the coffee was made, I gave the dog all of his meds. The pills were easy, the ear drops, not so much.
His poor ear still hurts and is still all red and raw looking.

I don’t have much in the way of plans for during the day. This evening, I’m going to my friend’s house for a party.

LOL

Sorry about your friend Swampy. If it makes you feel any better, you can consider him raptured.
We, on the other hand, have most decidedly NOT been raptured. Nor have any of our friends and neighbors. Dang it! I was looking forward to being able to pick out a new car! I was gonna walk around the neighborhood looking for piles of clothes and pull the keys out of the pockets to see what they fit.
Well, maybe next year.
My brother in Georgia will be very disappointed. He really and truly believes the Rapture is gonna happen any day now, although not necessarily today, I don’t think. I think that’s what happens when you get all of your news from Fox News and the 700 Club.

BTW, I remember pimento cheese. In fact, I think I remember buying it in these little glasses with metal lids, and when you ate all the cheese out of the glass, then you had a little drinking glass. Or am I imagining that? My Mom tells me that a lot of the things I remember from my childhood never happened. I don’t care. My memories, real or not, are fun for me. So there!

Skritches to Polar from me, Taters. I was saying this morning how glad I was that we got Vinnie Pupperino, even though I know I’ll eventually be devastated when the inevitable happens. I think it’s amazing and wonderful that we can still love others, knowing that it will eventually end and we’ll be heartbroken.

Gheez! I’m maudlin today.

Time to get off of here, obviously.

Home, exhausted, and done with day 6 of my 12 day work week. Today was extra tough because my cohort, Todd, left early for his kid’s soccer game, and there was a lot of crap to get done that I couldn’t get done. Plus I gave a crappy passdown to the oncoming crew, but I was frazzled. I did ask them several times if they understood all the stuff I told them and if they had any questions. They’re smart - they’ll figure it out.

swampy, sorry about your friend, but I know what you mean about being glad the suffering is over. Sometimes death really is the best thing.

Incidentally, regarding choir singing, there was a chaplain I knew in the Navy who liked everyone to sing out. He said “If God gave you a good voice, praise Him with it. If not, get even with Him!” I think that sums it up well.

I’m going out for a real meal with FCD. Not sure where, but I need real food. And sleep. And a day off… I’ll get that next weekend.

I’m too frazzled to think of anything else.

Bumba, I remember those jars.

By the by, I’m not a fan of that stuff…at all. Just not my cup o’cheese, as it were. I’ve had the slice version too; still found it atrocious.

Doing laundry. Actually I think I need to go check it, but I’ve got a cat sleeping on me.

Decided to wear kimono (or rather yukata, which is to kimono as sweatpants are to clothes) with a skirt today. I’ll be posting a pic on FB later.

We’re going to dinner with my grandparents today. Grandma specifically wants to see our new countertops.

We decided to do Outback for supper. **FCD **wanted a steak and we hadn’t been there in a while, so why not? It wasn’t bad, but they’ve moved an awful lot of stuff to a la carte. Apparently your entree includes a side or a salad, but not both. Didn’t usta be that way. Oh well. I didn’t have to cook or clean up, and my tilapia with crab wasn’t bad.

I see a very early bedtime for me tonight.

It’s 1851 EDT, and no earthquakes or suddenly missing people. I think I’m disappointed.

In other news, the Foomobile had it’s Merrylande vehicle inspection today, and it resoundingly flunked. I need a 2 axle break job and a new muffler as the big ticket items, and a metric buttload of little crap like new wipers and some lightbulbs. I predict about $900 in repairs for it in the near future. :frowning:

Strawberry season is over, but I have enough to make six jars of jam. There may be a trip in the near future for peaches. Lots of peaches. Peaches for me. Millions of peaches. They are not free.

Spaz - you can have the ones from the tree in m front yard.

I killded the MMP!

(or have all y’all been Raptured?)

I’m still here. (looks around)

I’m here, too.

Your LOL was funny, rosie.

Planted stuff and also went to watch nephew play baseball. That was fun, even though nephew’s team lost! They only had 7 players, but still did really well.

Tired. Off to sleepy bye.

Hugs.

Up caffeinated, and off to irk. Went and watched high school hockey last night. Our favorite team crushed the other one 11-0. After that we went to the Ale House for wings n’ suds and to watch the world end.

I noticed no one has posted since last night, and I woke up in a toasty warm handbasket this morning.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ YAWN ‘Tis 63 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of around 96 again. It is truly the beginnin’ of Summer in South Jawja!

I did not get raptured. Apparently nobody did, so at least I have that, right? That man is a piker! The worst we got was a couple minor earthquakes and a volcano eruptin’. How boring!

We spent yestiddy at the pool. JDD and partner came over to join us and brought fixin’s for dindin as well as even more beer. I should have a hangover but I don’t. Surprisin’ givin’ the copious amounts of beerverages consumed around the pool. We had steak, sallit, friggin’ good N.O.T., cheesey bread and lemon icebox pie for dindin. YUM! I even managed not to freak out at lettin’ somebody else touch my grill and microwave. See copious amounts of beerverages above for the explanation. Taters tell Mr. Taters that “Friggin’ Good N.O.T.” is indeed the official name. Everybody calles 'em that now.

gt Pimento Cheese is not an exact science. This is my basic recipe:

1 lb. extra sharp cheddar cheese grated.
2 small jars of diced pimentos
One smallish onion chopped fine (onion is optional)
3/4 cup mayo (I suggest startin’ with 1/2 cup and adjustin’ to taste)
Salt and Pepper to taste (Optional. I don’t add salt cause the cheese is salty enough for my taste)
Cayenne Pepper to taste (Optional but it does give it a zing)

Mash or chop pimentos. Add all other ingredients and blend until smooth and creamy. One might also just dump it all in a food processor and have at it but mixin’ by hand is therapeutic. What? It is! Try it! Chill for a couple of hours. Eat.

Other options include such things as addin’ cream cheese, which is not a bad thing but I say it’s guildin’ the lily. Also one might add some chopped pecans (weird but different!), minced garlic (not a bad option!) and sometimes even shudder Velveeta (GAG!!!111).

We southerners use it as a sammich spread, a dip and also spread it on celery as an appetizer. Makes a killer grilled cheese sammich! As a wee cub, pimento cheese sammiches were always a part of any picnic. I think it was a law back then cause everybody always had pimento cheese sammiches at picnics.

Thus endeth the lesson on pimento cheese.

Now I must go purtify for deheathenization. Bizkits from MickeyD’s will be consumed for brekkie on the way to deheathenization.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

Pimento cheese recipe duly added.

Awake. Need to go out and dig up some plants before going off to church.

Hugs…

Morning. We did not get Raptured either. Oh well

Hate hate hate the new job.

And I have to get ready to fly down later today for an early morning meeting in the new horrible job. I should be thankful to be employed I guess.

Happy balated B’day Taters. Poor Polar hope he feels better soon!

Coffee is what is missing I think… : wanders off to find some :

Good morning everyone. I have passed your message along, **Swampy. ** Mr. Taters smiled and then commented we hadn’t had them in awhile, so I guess I’ll have to make them some time this week.

My friends threw me an awesome birthday party. The food and company were awesome as per usual, and I received wonderful presents. I knew about the group gift, but I also received a beautiful bud vase, two new shirts, a very cute jacket, some lotion and some good smelling hand soap.

I also won two out of the three hands of 99 we played. I lost the first hand and was the designated drink bitch, but I came back with a vengeance for the last two hands.

As you can see by this post, I did not get Raptured. What a surprise…not.

everything hurts. I’m going back to bed.
