A Murderously Fun MMP

so the way to make a cat bark is to douse it with lighter fluid and strike a match: woof

eta:

so, the machines are doing their own “sampling” :dubious:?

Oh, I’m so sorry, BBBobbio! I completely forgot.

I’m done! I’ve been done since the end of January. I came back to work Feb 20, feeling not quite up to par. I’m feeling good now! That sh*t will kick your ass.

Alas, it was all for nought. The treatment didn’t clear my virus. What it did do was keep the virus backed off for 11 months and gave my liver some time to heal. So I’m better than when I started. My liver was minimally damaged to start with, I just wanted to try and get rid of the virus. I’m in Stage 1 liver disease. It should take a long time to progress to liver failure, it took twenty years to get to this point. (I think I got infected around 1985.) However, it could go fast, you never know.

New treatments are being “invented” all the time though. I might try something else in a few years.

(I still drink some, too, even though it supposedly speeds things up. But hell, I quit smoking and drugging, a girl’s got to have some fun!)

Thanks for asking!

sounds like what the Rituxan is supposed to do for me. What drug did they give you that did that?

eta: my cousin had HepA(?) (maybe B - I don’t remember - it was 25 years ago) and she drinks now with no ill effects* (has been doing so for many years) so hopefully, you won’t have to worry
*other than the occasional hangover

I know that. I spent a good portion of my pre-Dope career doing industrial automation, so this is not a foreign concept. Just a dirty shame…

ACBG took the day off? :stuck_out_tongue:

There’s a joke in here about the specific brands involved, but I’ll be damned if I can find it.

Meeks - thanks for the lyrics, very nice. I appreciate the clarity and enlightenment.

BioRosie, you’re twisted and sick. I like that in a person…

Good morning, all. Wow, you’ve been a chatty bunch since I went to bed last night! It’s taken me nearly all morning to catch up, in between puttering. This is definitely a puttering kinda day.

Alice will be home from FCM’s place in a couple of hours, and Mooom will be back from her sailing trip before the afternoon is out, so you’d better bake a fresh batch of brownies, Dotty!

I refuse to comment on the ghastly “jokes.” But I can believe a cat who barks; Emily’s speech consists of a bunch of yells, issued in an exceptionally peremptory tone. Interspersed with glares as only a 6.5-lb cat can deliver. Cats must never be taken for granted, and obviously suffer no foolishness from the well-trained human.

I got absolutely nuttin’ else this morning. Back to puttering. And watching Meeks’ videos.

Thanks for all the welcomes, guys, some of you I know all too well, some I will like to read more of. I love the randomosity of this type of thread.

Good morning! Rise and shine! At least for those of us stragglers here on the west coast, USA. On that note…

I’mlateforworkI’mlateforworkI’mlateforwork!

I too am ignoring the horrible, horrible jokes and just popping in to say - Mama Tigs, another movie is “Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge.” (Those with heart will take the bride.)

I must warn you too that different people transcribe Hindi into English different ways. So if you can’t find the exact wording, try a few alternates.

Also, I notice my selection is overwhelmingly North Indian & Hindi. I really am sorry about that but that’s what I listen to. I don’t really listen to any South Indian music and only a handful of Araboc/persian, and only when at least some of the song is in Hindi.

Scribbles, never a problem - I actually really like translating lyrics, though it’s hard to keep the poetry intact.

I did my good deed for the day yesterday. I had to go to Publix to pick up some lemons for the canning I was doing, and happened to see the lady in the floral shop who had helped me choose a plant for Libby. I couldn’t decide between an ivy plant in a really cute watermelon-slice pot or another plant that was flowering. I asked the lady which she would rather get if she were in the hospital, and she chose the ivy. Libby said she got more compliments on that ivy than any of her other arrangements - and some of those were much more expensive! So when I saw the lady yesterday I thanked her for helping me make the right choice. She just beamed! She said they hear about it when they do something wrong, but don’t often hear when they do something right!

And I have been nice today, too! I found a message on the answering machine that was obiviously a wrong number; they were telling someone who doesn’t live here that someone I don’t know is in the hospital. So l looked on callerID and called her back to let her know the message had not gone where it was intended to go.

Aren’t I nice?

Good Lord, why y’all so chatty today?

Dotty, I’ll trade you some cornbread for some brownies.

Must eat and imbibe coffee. wanders off

I think I’m going to quit the Internet until HP is out. Gah! I can’t get away from it!

Snakes you get gold stars for yesterday and today. Hee! I got a wonderful recipe for grilled pork tenderloin on my TAD (telephone answering device, my little pet name for the message function on my phone) once. I also got some rather juicy details about someone’s love life once. Real juicy. As in made me go  ! There’s a lesson to be learned from this children. Always make sure you are dialing correctly if’n you are gonna leave intimate details about your life on a TAD.

BioRosie the little cans go through a series of checks all along the line. There are machines calibrated to tell such things as the fill level of the can (bottles too), spray on the little ink jet sell by dates, determine if the can (or bottle) is sturdy enough etc. They are programed to eject substandard product but sometimes they’ll eject what appears to be sump’n perfectly good. Part of my fun is checkin’ the ones on my two lines that detect fill levels. They are checked for accuracy every hour. I get to stop the line to do that. Oh the power!

Ok, gettin’ bout that time to gear up for work. Today’s outfit is dark blue tshirt and blue jeans. Plus I washed my bump cap and goggles so they’re all clean. That should last through oh, the first hour. But hey, I start out clean.

Ok, time to gussy up. Later Y’all!

You should all be proud of me. I’ve done my calling, washed all the intensive cooking dishes from last night, and vacuumed, mopped, and scrubbed some corners.

My vacuum isn’t picking up very well. I’ve emptied it, looked at the filters, cleared the roller, and the roller still own’t turn. I think there’s maybe a blockage somewhere I can’t reach. Should I call the service guy, or just take advantage of Costco’s liberal return policy, and get a new one? I’ve still got the receipt, and it’s less than a year old.

If I had shorter hair I would break fewer vacuum cleaners.
Mmm. Brownies? Here, please! Or at least share your recipe.

Ditto! Not to mention my SO wouldn’t spend so much of his time rolling his eyes at me when he finds hair in things i haven’t even touched!

Ok, I’m back from lunch and feel better now.

I’ve got no momentum today - I can’t get into a rhythm - whereas on most days I’ll have worked 400 accounts by now, I’m barely creeping up on 200. There goes my average for the week. Bleh.

I have HepC. They treated me with weekly interferon injections, in my belly, which I gave myself. Go me! I shook very badly the first time, but was an old hand after 48 weeks! Also 3 pills twice a day of ribavirin. It was kinda like chemo, so I hear.

I just got an image of you as that woman from the Honey Bunches of Oats commercial. Are you hungry?
Quick… where’s the brain bleach??

awww - I think **swampbeer ** would look cute in a paper hair cap
