I think, since Tessie and the Charging Bear’s baby are only about six months apart, that they are inseparable. The Parkers live “close” to the Charging Bears, right? (By close, I mean a mile or two, what with the size of the ranch and all.)

We’ve got lots of Sams! There’s Smilin’ Sam Anderson, rancher, Sam Hawkins, local newspaperman, and Sam Nichols, evil gay San Francisco sports editor.
Which should prove to be fun if we ever get them all together!
btw, Mr. Nichols may simply have gay friends, and yet be straight himself. We’ll just have to see what happens. As for being evil, again, he may well be. Or, he may be a man more sinned against than sinning.
