And I know who Jesse’s “accomplice” is. If you read Baker’s most excellent recaps she e-mailed you may be able to figure it out yourself!
I posted last, so I won’t add until someone else moves the story along. I know my post wasn’t any big revelation, more of a nudge to get Charley and Mose home for dinner.
Okay, Baker, I’m going to need you to flesh out the gunfight in Solace. I’m not sure where Jesse fits into all that. Have they arrived yet in town? Are they involved in the gun fight?
I figure that Jesse and the posse that picked him up got to Solace way ahead of Nichols. Nichols got there in the evening, after dark, and Jesse was picked up in daylight, so I’m assuming Jesse has been there for some time. Nichols is planning to go on the Anderson’s Gulch in the morning.
If someone else wants to add their own idea with the gunfight that’s fine by me, as half the fun in these stories is the adapting to what others have written. But if nobody picks it up I do have an idea, ivylass, but it would help if I knew who you had in mind as the “accomplice” Could you email that to me, to keep it a surprise?
In addition to Will Santini, we need to get that apprentice blacksmith in the story, the one Sally is sweet on. I’m a sucker for romance!
ivylass, I knew Sally was going to get caught, but I thought it would be Charlie. Good thing for her beau, as her pa doesn’t strike me as one to be as “understanding” as Mose was. Glad I guessed right, and you had a great post too!
Well, I didn’t think Charley would be very understanding, being Pa and all.
I was planning on having Danny being a complete scumbag, but maybe Sally can set him straight and he can come to dinner. What I didn’t want was for Sally to get pregnant or something. I didn’t think, with parents like Charley and Caroline, that she would stray that far.
If Danny is blacksmithing he’s at least a hard worker, so he has that going for him. At that age though a teen boy has one thing on his mind. That part you put in, what Sally said to Mose, about “people wouldn’t understand”, maybe there’s something about Danny’s background that might be viewed as questionable?
With the recent passing of Johnny Carson, I decided to name the knife thrower after the subject of one of his famous adlibs. Ed Ames was born Edmon Urick
