How about Querida? That’s Spanish for “dear.” Pronounced Care-eed-ah. And her nickname would sound like Carrie.

She sounds like an R-name. Roxanne? Rose (my middle name)? Ria?
I am not entirely opposed to Querida or Sweetheart.

I would name it Ralph.
Remeber that cartoon with the dog that had the hair over its eyes, its job was to take care of the sheep, and protect them from the coyote. Ralph used to always sit under a tree napping and wake up at the last moment just in time to ruin the coyote’s plan to get a sheep and then he would go right back to napping.
