A note about resubscribing (a good note)!

Due to my upcoming absence from the SDMB, which would span my “end of subscription date”, I decided to pre-emtively resubscribe.

My original subscribe date: 4-19-2004
My original expiration date: 4-19-2006
I thought that if I resubscribed now, my new expiration date would end up being today in 2006: 9-18-2006

Apparently, that ain’t the case. My new expiration date is: 4-28-2007.

Apparently, when you “buy a year”, it doesn’t default to the current date, but tacks it onto the date of your original registration. Efficiency at it’s finest.

Thank you Jerry and Cecil!

Weren’t there a couple on instances where the board was down and the Mods added days to paid subscriptions?

Tripler: May god hold you in the hollow of his hand and bring you home safely.

Mr. Blue Sky: Yes. We had a board outage that added something like 2 weeks to the initial Charter Member offer, which is why the subscription expiration date for most people in 2005 was 04-28-2005.

We do strive to give value, and a major outage like we had should be compensated for.

I thank you. I’ll leave God for the afterthought, 'cause I’ll have a rifle and don’t exactly intend on meeting him soon. But I do thank you.

Although I did wonder what was going on with the ‘end-of-the-month’ thing. I thought it weird that while I subscribed in the middle of the month, it was extended a bit.

C’est la vie.

I don’t speak a whole lotta French. Vous les vouz couchez avec mou?

Couchez? Couchez? Cout!

I’m more worried about the “mou”

Fetchez le vache!

Shouldn’t that be “Feltchez la vache”?

Nah. If you’re going to feltchez around here, the object is usually chèvre, not vache.
