A panicky MMP!

Shopping is done and I’m in for the night. It’s a right soggy mess out there, and some jerk splattered me with slush as he drove through a puddle at high speed trying to beat a light. But I got in before the heavy winds picked up, so there’s that.

One more cheesecake to make tonight, plus dinner, and I make the cream cheese icing tomorrow morning.

Og, but I’m wiped. I’m gonna sleep like the dead tonight.

carefully waits until Smartie is all dried and clothed, then turns that same jet on again and gives her a nice shower :satanic grin:

gives Carrot a withering look, shakes once and is completely dry

Perhaps you missed the part where I said I installed it and it minds me? Nice try though, Junior!

flicks fingers, Carrot slips and pratfalls into the hot tub

Mind the edge, it’s a bit slippery!

Know what? I’m gonna go make a God’s Blessing, then I’m gonna drink it, then I’m gonna make another one. In between there will be intervals of herbaltainment. For those paying attention, this could mean that there will be an opportunity later to see that most rara of avis, the SmartAleq obligatory drunken post. Doesn’t happen often, but I’d say the percentage chances of it this evening are quite auspicious…

I’m feeling all sassy and triumphant because I just located, tag’n’bagged and am now listening sequentially to ALL THREE of the Treat Her Right original albums! Shitty bitrate but doesn’t matter too much, this is a SCORE! shakes booty

Herbaltainment, huh? Enjoy! Just out of curiosity, what is a God’s Blessing made of? I’m always up for new drinks.

We have chunky rain falling with promises of it turning to snow. My niece, who lives in Vancouver, WA is unable to come up and join us for Christmas because of the snow and ice down there. Up here, the rain has turned all the side roads into a major, very slippery slush fest. It’s still colder than a witch’s er…well you know the saying. However, it’s not quite cold enough (yet) for this stuff to be purely white.

Our prime rib roast is sitting in the fridge, ready to go in the oven tomorrow.

Mr. Taters was talking about calling the Moms and just having them come spend the night tonight with us driving them to our place when we leave MiL’s place. I promptly talked him out of it. I want our Christmas morning to be just us, the kids, hubby and I. It’s the only time at Christmas where we can be alone. We can pick them up tomorrow if need be.

Merry Christmas folks. Big hugs and smooches to all of you. You all make me smile, laugh and generally brighten my day.

Right. Last cheesecake is made and baking, cream cheese frosting is made. Going to assemble the 3-layer shortly, and then frost and decorate it. It’s probably too late to have realized that maybe I should have made some Christmassy fondant to cover it with. Oh well.

Cheesiest. Christmas. Evar.

Snowmaggedon is trying its damnest to harsh my mellow. My foot slid out beneath going down an path (exposed aggregate) and rather than risk a pulled groin, I did a goofy twist/flop into the snow. In an area covered by security cameras. I hoping it won’t be part of 2009’s year end slide show. Sigh.

The cold has frozen the pipes to two outdoor water spigots, blowing the taps right off the wall. So much for frost-free piping. That meant a check had to be done to all buildings and all suites, so I helped Mr. J get through them all.

I’m now too tuckered to make a special dinner tonight, but Mr. J let me off the hook by asking for leek and potato soup. That I can do!

Wishing all the Mumpers a happy holiday!

Laundry is done for the night. Gifts are wrapped. Stuff to go tomorrow is bagged and sitting on the counter - except for the deviled egg stuff - that’s still in the fridge.

I just took the doggies out, and the temp has risen to almost 60F!!! Weird! But tomorrow’s highs will just be in the 40s.

I think I need a medicinal toasted almond tonight… Yeah. Good idea. Ho Ho Ho.

Thank God ^[sup]retail[/sup] Christmas is over. The reason that lot was empty, gotti, was that all the shoppers were in my store. People were trying to tear the doors off 45 minutes after we closed. I’m supposed to get liquid snow tomorrow.(It’s currently 64 degrees Amurikin )Santa brought me a martini, and salmon is cooking in the oven. I’ll go to Midnight Mass, then maybe get blind drunk.

I forgot to order a pole this year.:smack:

Good job BBBobbio. I should roadtrip out to the VunderSanta lair with milk and cookies(or beer and nachos) for that.

Thanks for that, rosie, Happy 4th Light!

Nope, wanna help me erect it? :d&r:

Finally done!

The Beast
The Beast (profile view)
Fully iced with chocolates

And holy FSM is that thing heavy! At least 4 kilos, or almost 9 pounds.

The raspberry cheesecake came out nicely too, but it’s cooling so it’s not ready for prime time. Pics are crappy 'cos I had to take them with my iPhone. My new camera didn’t arrive in the mail today as I’d hoped. :frowning:

I’m gonna have to devise a contraption of some sort to transport it tomorrow, because we don’t have a cake tray big enough.

Good grief! I think I gained 20# just looking at the Beast!

Pardon the drool…

Oh my, Mindy! That is a hell of a cheesecake.

Hubby and I decorated Christmas cookies - they are hideous but nommy. I made a marble fudge Bundt cake and the lemon cheese cake pie. Dinner was easy - cabbage and sausage.

And I made, for the first time, Mooomm’s Peach French Toast Casserole and it awaits us for in the morning.

We have spiked egggnog, bloody mary mix, Bailey’s Irish Cream, bourbon, vodka, and merlot - and a bunch of beer on ice. We are set.

Hubby and I are not giving gifts to each other this year. I got my Dad a stick-on Texas Longhorn emblem thingie for his car. He also requested no gifts, but it was only $5. We got gift cards for everyone else - and spent much less than in years past.

Thanks for all the concern about Dad. It was weird, because he wasn’t asleep when the numbness came on. He said he was feeling it creep into his foot! That’s why he was so freaked out - he thought he was having a stroke or something. He’s had no recurrence, so we’re just “keeping an eye out.”

I have the marathon of A Christmas Story on in the other room, and Mr Rebo is asleep in the recliner - of course. “You’ll put your eye out, kid!”

Merry Christmas and Happy Hannukah, everyone!

Sorry, not new, just an honest description from my favorite writer, Spider Robinson. God’s Blessing.

A very Merry Christmas Eve to all. And a Happy Christmas morning to those who are already there. LOL

My son is at church; my daughter and I, heathens that we are, will watch the 9 am service from Washington National Cathedral tomorrow morning.

Rebo, I saw your Christmas cookies and they look good! What a feast you are having - and glad to hear that your Dad is doing better. Do keep an eye on him, though; that numbness is troubling. :frowning:

We’ll have ham tomorrow; Friday I will get a new turkey and have that and all the turkey trimmings on Friday. I’m also going to make a few of my cookie recipes for my son as well as a pecan pie for him-that’s his favorite. Might as well feed him what he likes while he’s here, right? He’s a good boy, although he can be vexing when he wants to be! LOL

Again, a Happy Holidays to all!

Wally’s got it right–God’s Blessing on us all! I make mine in this quite oversized cup and considering I seldom drink–seriously, if I drink more than one or two drinks in a night more than twice or three times a year I mark it in a diary! I just finished up my second one and we’re having a lovely evening getting blasted and listening to weird music–ICP is festively holiday-ey, right?

I still seem to be coherent and untypoed, must be time for another drink!

I couldn’t half just bury my whole fricking face into the middle of The Beast, I’m just sayin’… Not only does it look and sound maddeningly nommy I’d just love to see the looks on everybody’s face when I came up looking like a Stooge in a pie fight. That would rock! It would be like licking the last cookie to claim it, only with NINE POUNDS OF CHEEZCAKE! That’s just awesome…

Dear Og… now THAT’s a cheesecake!

Danish dough for tomorrow’s brekkie is thawing out in the fridge - I do believe I’ll do a blackberry filling, or perhaps lemon curd. We’ll see what I’m in the mood for come the morrow.

Tonight’s dinner of eggplant parmesan has been consumed, along with most of a bottle of red wine, followed by Greek honey balls for dessert. Not particularly festive, but incredibly yummy. And now, I’m very very sleeeeepy. ZzzzzzZZZzzzzzz.

Merry Chrismukwaanzakah everybody. Play safe.

Merry Christmas EST!

Hi guys!

Merry Christmas and so on…

TVMan and I went to his parents’ house for dinner on Christmas Eve… Very tasty! And after that we came back and took a long winter’s nap. Now it’s almost 1 in the morning and I’m wide awake. Guess I’ll just sit here and wait for Santa awhile and then go back to bed.

Merry Christmas CST!

And Dearest **Pie **too of course. Hope your day is full of fun and sparkles, and cake, an presents, and fun too. More fun. Lots of fun. Fun for everyone.

Merry Christmas* From the Holy Land, y’all!

(Of course, with the damage the rain has done to some roads, it’s more like the [pot-]holey land right now… :smack: )

  • Substitute with “Happy Fifth Hanukkah Candle” or any other solstice greeting you prefer

Same to you. Except it’s not Christmas here yet. And probably still the Fourth day.

You’re up early though.
