You know a term I haven’t seen used lately? Darwin Award. There’s scant usage of this term, despite there being plenty of entries in the COVID era.
Maybe it’s because “uniquely stupid” is no longer unique.

I forget where I read this:
Fearing the long term effects of the vaccine, he discovered the short term effects of covid-19.
I need to show this story to my BIL, who refuses to get vaccinated because of what might happen in the future because of the vaccine. We are tired of futilely arguing, reasoning, and pleading with him.
Show it to him and see what he says. If he insists this is “fake”, then then go over what he wants his obituary to say. Get a rough draft of it together for his approval. Make sure it quotes him saying that the other guy’s death was “fake”.
A quote from the man in question, in the article:
"If I’m wrong I’ll hold my hand up but I will not stay silent.”
Turns out he was incorrect on both counts.
Many/most of them have already bred, so any part of their stupidity that’s genetic has already spread widely in the gene pool, making them ineligible for the Award.
Against stupidity, future generations will have to contend in vain.
Actually, they are eligible.
The existence of offspring, though potentially deleterious to the gene pool, does not disqualify a nominee. Children inherit only half of each parent’s genetic material and thus have their own chance to survive or snuff themselves.
Just ask him if he’s ok with his dick going floppy when he catches Covid.
Fascinating! Thanks.
Though it is also still quite depressing to think about dealing with their legacy for decades to come.
This is how real-life Darwinism works too. The “unfit” (in the Darwinian sense) may have offspring, but on the average in the long run will have fewer of them, and their genes will decrease in the gene pool. It’s a long slow inefficient process, to be sure.
Those Darwin Award laureates who off themselves younger rather than older, with no offspring, are to be commended for their much more efficient treatment of the gene pool.
In fact, it was used lately. I saw it mentioned, in a similar context, in one of these related threads just yesterday or maybe Wednesday. It’s not forgotten.
Dude hasn’t gotten laid in years, so this argument won’t do much good.
Just prescribe him 40 mg mycoxafloppin qd per os PRN and he’ll be just fine.
Was it wrong to laugh out loud at that?
Dick Farrel, 65, used his local talk show and social media to rail against Dr. Anthony Fauci, who he called a “power tripping lying freak,” and say that no one should get the coronavirus vaccine. When COVID-19 sent him to the hospital for three weeks, though, he changed his tune, urging friends to get vaccinated, friends told local station WPTV."
Got his face eaten - screw him. His actions, words, screaming likely killed others.
Asshole DumpsterFire booster.
"An ardent supporter of former President Donald Trump, Farrel wrote often about baseless conspiracy theories of election fraud. In June, he penned a fearmongering post about liberals wanting to remove the American flag, writing, “Civil war beckons.”
Awww… looks like he’s gonna miss the civil war.
And I’m sure he was planning to be on the front line, just like his hero Trump, when he marched to the Capitol with his insurrectionists. That kind of front line. In a safe room with a tv. But now that Farrel (2 r’s one l) is dead, he’s gonna miss it. Sad.
What’s sad is he’s dead. It would have been much better if he lived out his natural life struggling painfully for each breath.
Yes. But to his credit, he found a way to never get covid again. Kind of the gun in the mouth method, but it worked for him. I just hope he didn’t infect anyone else with his reckless ways.
He did, it’s just that his natural life wasn’t very long.
And now every obituary of him- his legacy through history- will be that he was a dumbass.
Just made a quick search for “anti-vaxxers who died of covid”. Amazing how many people I did not know I will never be able to meet. Not that I miss them, mind you… Ah, well…
