A Perfectly Reasonable Amount of Schadenfreude about Things Happening to Trump & His Enablers (Part 1)

Oh now you did it! :slightly_smiling_face:

And you’ve got to swallow the last vowel sound, like the o in Scuh’-làn’ …

(Ochhh, dinnae ken hoo ta lairn ya dobbahs…)

Sean Hannity worked some My Pillow product placement into a radio bit about the Kabul evacuation

How would you like to be in Kabul today, as an American, and you can’t get to the airport? Where are you thinking your life is heading? If you’re one of those family members, I bet you’re not sleeping. I don’t even think MyPillow can do it. MyPillow. com. That’s where I go. I fall asleep faster, I stay asleep longer. These are going to be a lot of sleepless nights for so many Americans. We’ve got to get them home.

What the ever-loving fuck? Lindell hasn’t been too keen on Hannity as of late, what with his refusal to make Dominion’s massive election fraud the focus of his Fox show. Is this some sort of effort to appease Mike Lindell - or does Hannity just need the money?

Anyway, it’s a great reminder that it’s all about the grift. Always.

ETA: I just threw an extra space into MyPillow. com just to break the link, cause I didn’t want anyone to accidentally click it and poison their brain. It’s a safety issue.

He did that with cell phones, too.

Here’s a quote:

“There is a stampede, not only out of Afghanistan, but a stampede away from high prices, overpriced service from the big carriers like Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile. The average family making the switch to PureTalk,”

It’s grift all the way down now.

Some of these people will die not knowing that they’re pieces of shit. Some of them know, and are happy with it. I would love to see where on the spectrum people here would rate these clowns in seeing if they’re grifting or bein sincere.

Hannity is a grifter for sure.

Another(?) Trump pardonee returns to court. Let’s hope that keeps happening!

Rachel Maddow stated that Federal pardons can’t stop the State from pursuing felony charges. They’re looking at Bannon, too.

Doesn’t Roger Stone also have a few things that could still be brought against him?

That may be true or maybe not. It depends on a lot of circumstances and it’s convoluted. Here’s a summary, as best I think I understand it:

  • The Supreme Court ruled that the Federal government and the various states are separate sovereigns, so that a presidential pardon for a federal crime does not preclude states from prosecuting at the state level for the same crime. (Which otherwise was argued to be a violation of the Double Jeopardy clause of the Fifth Amendment.)

  • Some states (including New York) thought that was baloney, so they passed their own state laws saying that a presidential pardon DOES protect against state-level prosecution for the same crime. (This might have been very conditional, applying only to certain specified classes of crimes?)

  • Then, when Trump went on his pardon sprees, some of those states decided they really DID want to be able to prosecute Trump and his cronies, so they passed more laws saying that a presidential pardon does NOT protect against state-level prosecution in certain cases (typically where the President himself or his cronies are involved, or something like that).

We had a discussion of all this on this board a few years ago.

So I think it’s murky as to what crimes can be charged in what states against who, in situations like that.

With these guys, I betcha there’s more than one crime they can find to prosecute them on!

No doubt, if the prosecutors really want to get serious about this. These crooks are full-time professionals at what they do.

Here’s a post I wrote last May discussing the double-jeopardy rules in a little more detail (as best I thought I understood it), back when it was a little fresher in my mind:

Bit late to the party, but I couldn’t help myself

Enjoy

This just in: Donald J. Trump has been appointed to hold office for life.

That office is Presidunce.

Has W agreed to step down? I mean, DJT is probably better qualified, but we need to follow the rules here.

Pretty sure Duhbya is on record as saying, “Finally! Someone did a worse job than me!”

A Message To You, Rudy was playing at Trader Joe’s when I went to get lunch Tuesday. It had played on my iPod earlier.

Good to know it’s still being played.

I actually think Trump’s turn actually elevated W’s term from one of the worst to slightly below average.

I think this is relevant:
