Actually, as I said in another thread, having owned horses I’ve used Ivermectin. It’s a systemic poison and will kill off not only gut parasites, but blood-borne ones as well. If you suspect your horse has the latter you have to be cautious and probably want to call in a vet. Given willy-nilly the blood parasites die off, are cast loose in the blood stream, and can trigger thrombosis.
Of course, when you’ve been carried off by Covid, this no longer a concern.
