“Charlottesville, Virginia (CNN)A jury has awarded more than $26 million in damages to nine plaintiffs after finding the White nationalists who organized and participated in a violent 2017 rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, liable on a state conspiracy claim and other counts.”
It doesn’t bring back Hether Heyer, or relieve the physical suffering of those others affected, including the wife of a Doper.
How much money are the plaintiffs actually ever likely to see?
Also, recall that one of the avowed goals of this suit was to totally bankrupt and financially destroy the people and organizations who were the defendants. Anybody have any ideas on how successful that will be?
The plaintiffs are going to have to file something on the order (depending on what it’s called in VA) an Abstract of Judgment and a Request for Earnings Assignment. That will enable them to attach bank accounts and other assets, and garnish wages.
There were many reports during the Trump presidency about Melania making sure that Barron spoke fluent Slovenian. Apparently they both have dual citizenship with that country and the USA. And of course Donald has had very little to do with Barron’s upbringing (Melania’s parents had more).
So it would be surprising if Barron felt any emotional connection at all to Donald, really.
It’s a fair point; it certainly looks as though craving Dad’s approval has been a lifelong issue for Don, Jr. If Barron doesn’t care, he’s likely to have a happier life.
Tiffany has done a good job of keeping herself out of the news. That alone makes her a lot smarter than her elder half-sibs. Nobody really knows what she thinks of Daddy, or politics in general.
She did show her face at, IIRC, and the Republican National Quasi-Convention.
I thought the Karl’s anecdote about the White House Correspondents Dinner was funny.
When Trump was “going back and forth over whether to attend”, he hadn’t been invited. They didn’t intend to invite him.
Trump was fishing for an invitation that he could turn down publicly. He didn’t get one.
Well, hell, I’d do that myself if they’d let me in. It’d be in the same spirit as visiting Bedlam Hospital so I suppose I would feel guilty. A little bit.
