Trump gets hordes of cultists to follow him. They’ll vote for him no matter what he does or says because they think he’s a messiah.
So, the Republicans see this power and want to harness it. Okay, this shithead can say anything and idiots will still vote for him. We want those votes too. So we’ll support whoever Trump endorses.
But just because Trump endorses a candidate, that doesn’t mean his followers will turn out for that person. It works sometimes, after all MTG got elected despite publicly endorsing nutty conspiracy shit straight out of a Stormfront forum thread. But that won’t always work. Many of his MAGAts won’t bother to go to the polls unless Trump himself is running.
The 7-point print on the envelopes telling voters to put an ID number on it is very hard to read by vision-impaired elderly. More elderly are R voters. So lots of ballots are being rejected, but more R than D. Let’s hope this continues to the general election.

[V]oters missed important instructions located right under the flap of the mail ballot return envelope. That is where voters have to provide either a partial Social Security number or their driver’s license number.
“Voters wouldn’t see [the section] if the flap is down,” she says. “It’s only visible if the flap is up. And the reason behind that was to keep it secret so people couldn’t get that [information] when it was going through the mail.”…
For November, Taylor says there will be a change: The voter ID field that so many voters missed will be highlighted by a big red box.
Time to start the rumor mill that that box’s real purpose is so “They” can get your information.
It doesn’t matter if Trump is a kingmaker, or if he ever was. Candidates will still seek Trump’s favor, Trump will continue to say who he likes and who he doesn’t, and the media will gleefully report it all. Whether a Trump endorsement actually helps get someone elected is irrelevant. Trump is not about results, he is about hype.
