A Perfectly Reasonable Amount of Schadenfreude about Things Happening to Trump & His Enablers (Part 1)

And we already know what he looks like in orange.

Chillingly recreated in this recent HBO miniseries: The Plot Against America (TV Mini Series 2020) - IMDb

In a word… yes.

DeJoy is not out, but he has been neutered:

Good. I hope he is assigned to an office with no windows, where his job is to inspect packages that are suspected of containing rotten meat products.

Seems fair to me.

From here:

Mr. Garland also said he personally approved the decision to seek the warrant.

That oughta send them into a tizzy.

Sounds like they’re turning it into a real witch hunt.

Joe has a nicer office than me. “Joe’s the mole!!!”

Well, that’s the kind of people he attracts. Schemers looking out for themselves.

I’d use a different metaphor.

It’s getting hard to count how many scorpions are in that bowl.

I hope they take away his red Swinline stapler too.

To be fair, the most likely explanation (IMHO) for why Trump was failing to secure the 2020 election and trying to convince his voters to not use mail was because he thought he could convince DeJoy to lose or delay the mail through the election season, using the pandemic and “technology upgrades” as excuses.

DeJoy (I assume) resisted that and did his job, serving the American people. (Granted, partially under pressure by Congress.)

He does have relevant experience to his role and may genuinely be doing a tough but necessary job improving the quality of the USPS. And that may mean doing things like cutting poor workers, automating work, etc.

Having oversight is good but that should be fair oversight, not USPS union bosses, telling him that the system has to stay old and crusty.

More likely DeJoy realized that he didn’t really have the power to stop the mail without it being really really obvious. I mean what’s he going to do, send a memo to the Philadelphia branches saying don’t deliver ballots?

Donald Trump is not a man who believes that there’s a level of public shame too great to get in the way of winning.

IIRC DeJoy ordered high speed sorting machines destroyed in a number of major mail sorting facilities in order to slow down/disrupt mail delivery. If that’s not “really really obvious” then I don’t know what is.

Both accurate and elegantly put. Nice.

Oh, yes. Make anyone, in any job, contemplating doing the right thing fear that they will be persecuted for doing so.

When no one upholds the law, lawbreakers rejoice.

This is pure speculation, but I’ve seen some advancing the view that some members of the Secret Service have been stung by the publicity the service has received in the wake of the ‘destroy evidence’ phone-wiping story.

So, the theory goes, one of them decided to spill the beans on what he or she knew to be top-secret stuff Trump had squirreled away at Mar-a-Lago in direct defiance of promises made to both the National Archives and the DOJ that he’d turned all that stuff over to them.

This is speculation coming just from me (or at least I haven’t seen anyone else voicing it): the recent photos from the LIV golf event showing Donald without makeup—and looking genuinely awful—were released in order to support an upcoming story that ‘he died.’

Meanwhile he’s actually off to Saudi to live in whatever golden palace they’ve prepared to house/display him…

I don’t know why those photos were released, but seeing them finally explained to me why trump wears such awful-looking makeup that does nothing for him. He has an incredible amount of sun damage! Must not have been using adequate sunscreen and hats while doing all that golfing.

A guy who stared directly at the sun during an eclipse, in defiance of all common sense–and, no doubt, many warnings–is not going to lower himself to use sunscreen.

Just because them pointy-headed scientists say so is no reason to do anything!!1!!!

Secret Service agents are sworn law enforcement officers. If they witness a crime, they are duty-bound to report it.
