New York Fashion Week insiders were buzzing about a rumor that Palin had Lasik surgery years ago and wears glasses only for show.
Alaska optician Joy Leedham, who fitted Palin’s specs, disputes that claim, telling USA Today that Palin is nearsighted with a slight astigmatism.
They’re prescription, so they might be the only part of her that’s genuine.
And on the Trumpian legal front:

Wait, so he had all of Hillary’s emails in his desk this whole time and he didn’t release them? What is he? Some kind of deep state socialist RINO?
I’ve heard rhinos were endangered yet they were in America all this time?
According to Trump, Hillary deleted them all and hid them from the FBI.
The only quasi-legal way for him to have the emails would be if the FBI had them and, as President, he requested access. But if the FBI never had them then Trump could only have them via, for example, working with Russian intelligence.
(Note: Technically, I believe that the claim is that she deleted all of the scandalous emails and only handed over innocuous ones to the FBI but this has been compressed for the sake of soundbites. I’m following suit in the above.)
And then there’s this, heheheheheh:
I like how they seized them and returned them. That way they could unambiguously demonstrate that the passports were there in the drawer. And T asking for them back doesn’t help him because then HE HIMSELF is confirming that the passports are his and not someone elses or maybe planted fakes.
Why would Hillary withhold her e-mails from the FBI when the whole DOJ is on her side?
The reason they’re citing for them to be a problem is:
“Finding the passports side by side with the classified documents suggests he himself was the one who handled” them
But that’s really weak sauce I think. Several of the passports were expired, for one thing, so why would he maintain personal physical control over them?
It might even mean the opposite, actually. The wealthy have all sorts of people around them that handle things like travel arrangements. I imagine when Trump is about to get off a plane in a foreign country and go through customs there’s a lackey there to hand him his passport at just the right moment. Or maybe he never has to touch it himself. I can’t imagine he’s ever in a situation of saying, “now where did I put my passport?” because somebody just hands it to him when he needs it. If it was in a drawer, it seems to me somebody else likely put it there.
Pehaps the deed to the new dacha was tucked into the active passport.
So, a deal has been reached between the House Oversight Committee and Trump regarding his financial records… Since it was a deal, what did the committee give up in order to get any concessions from Trump?
I think that this may be more of an idealized vision of the wealthy than the reality. I think it’s reasonable to assume that T handles his own passports.
Are they smeared with a greasy orange substance?
Yet every photograph of her where her head is turned enough to see the edge of her face with her glasses shows zero distortion.
Not as much as he is.
I know that internet sleuths have called foul on that, but we have the word of the optician who made the glasses, again repeated by ABC News.

Palin told Leedham that she owned seven pairs of glasses. The frames that Palin picked “help her look fashion-forward,” Leedham says.
The lack of distortion means nothing to me. Does Dick Cheney wear glasses just to be fashionable? Here’s a photo of him from an angle, close up, and it looks just like the picture of Palin.
I don’t think the detective skills of skeptical people on social media is worth anything. There is plenty to criticize Palin on without making up BS.
