A Perfectly Reasonable Amount of Schadenfreude about Things Happening to Trump & His Enablers (Part 1)

I find myself hoping he gulls even more money out of them. Money that will be seized in fraud suits and out of their hands where it can cause even more harm like funding the Loud Boys or Oathbreakers.

This was my guess…together with the infantilizing nature of the pickaninny.

I have to admit that when I saw ‘Peekaboo’ my first thought was Picabo Street.

No doubt. This is a guy who worshipped at the feet of Roy Cohn, whose most common legal tactic was to delay his cases as long as possible, hoping the adversary would eventually give up and offer a settlement. His ultimate goal was to never spend a single day in trial.

There actually may well be other nonclassified documents that are nevertheless Presidential papers and therefore subject to retrieval by the National Archives, making the refusal to return them also criminal under statutes governing official documents.

There’s more to it than that. Festinger was trying to observe and test something he called cognitive dissonance, the discomfort that people feel when they hold two contradictory ideas, and to predict what conditions will cause them to cling ever more tightly to the mistaken belief. I don’t know how settled and accepted his theories are, but they are very interesting.

That podcast is worth a listen.

Trump supporter Adolf Hitler Jr goes to jail for four years. Would be a hoot if Trump joins him there soon.

“People were saying to me, ‘Sir…’.”

Smapti?..is that you?

He seems nice. For a Hitler cosplayer.

A Trumpier version: “People were saying to me, with tears in their eyes, Sir …”.

This was SUCH a relief.

Until this, we didn’t know if the 11th Circuit (or the 3-judge portion of it that dealt with this matter–two of them Trump appointees!!!) would be Cannon-like, or instead would actually follow the law.

Thank everything that’s holy: it was the latter.

Looks like they decided to cut their losses:

The House GOP campaign arm is slashing a near-$1 million ad buy meant to target Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D-Ohio) — essentially walking away from what could have been an easy pickup for the party.

We’ve seen some belt-tightening on the Senate side, but it’s a relatively new development on the House side (where the GOP still has a decent shot of flipping the chamber). Maybe too much of the usual money flow is being sucked down an orange, er, black hole…

The rubes have no money left after the (inadvertent) monthly donations to the Orange Shit-Gibbon.

I did, too, but that makes no more sense, in context, than any of these other theories.

“My opinion? He has dementia,” Cohen told Insider on Thursday. “Especially with the additional stress that is now on top of him.”…

But “there’s no chance” Trump would racially slur James publicly, including in a Truth Social post, Cohen insisted.

Instead, he thinks an “impaired” Trump may have been reaching for a metaphor to describe the failed, pre-lawsuit settlement negotiations with James’ office.

Yup, the guy who uses “Pocahontas” as a perjorative and still refers to the “China Flu” wouldn’t resort to racial slurs.

That sure tracks

I read that as Cohen attempting to yank Trump’s chain. “It’s not racist, it’s probably senility.” Hoping to trigger Trump into responding, “I’m not senile, it’s totally racist.” Juvenile button-pushing, sure, but Cohen knows Trump has the emotional and cognitive levels of a seven-year-old.

National Republicans were not initially enthused about Majewski’s primary win — he is closely aligned with the MAGA wing of the party and gained fame for painting his lawn into a giant Trump shrine.

A perfect fit for Trump supporters and the party that enables them.

I don’t think we have a thread specifically for the Georgia Election Tampering that went on, so this seems like a good place to note that Sidney Powell was a no-show for her grand jury date. I like the idea of her being on the lam.
