From what I understand, you are 100% correct. I’ve seen pictures and it does look like a very nice facility but it had financial problems from the start.
Looks like Graham will have to obey the subpoena from Georgia and go forth to testify. The Supreme Court has declined a chance to block it.
This case is about Trump trying to pressure Georgia officials to alter a vote count. To “find” more votes for him. And Graham has knowledge about this attempt. I note that the Speech or Debate clause states that “for any Speech or Debate in either house” members of Congress “shall not be questioned in any other place.”
Graham is NOT being asked to testify about a speech or debate in the Senate chambers or House of Representatives. He will be asked about his knowledge of Trump’s attempt to pressure a state into “finding” more votes for him, in order to illegally overturn an election.
This is his chance to do the right thing, and testify truthfully.
I don’t know why they’re wasting their time trying to get someone like Graham to testify. I would guess the chance of him pleading the 5th about 300 times is somewhere between 0.9999… and 1.
