Literally every single person (and I mean dozens of times over the last three decades I’ve been hearing this) the person saying this has either promised something they can’t deliver without a bunch of other people turning their personal lives upside down for a week or three or has fucked up something so badly that they are trying to escape blame for.
And they always justify their abhorrent behavior with “I’m not here to make friends”. Congrats! You’re definitely not making any–and you’re losing the few you may have already had.
