Meanwhile in Arizona, Lake’s lawyers are now responsible for paying the legal fees for Maricopa County:
I mentioned it in another thread but it is particularly worth pointing out here that the lead counsel for the losers in this case is Alan Dershowitz.
Bazinga!
Finally, the courts are sending the right message - file frivolous lawsuits requesting extraordinary relief while providing zero evidence in support of any wrongdoing gets you sanctioned.
Damn straight.
Have you ever heard of Seagull Management?
Someone who flies in, makes a lot of noise, craps all over everything and then flies away.
Awesome, it’s really time for that shithead Dershowitz to get some blowback besides being shunned on Martha’s Vineyard.
From Martha’s Vineyard article:
So then:
meanwhile:
I’ve given it a great deal of thought, and have concluded that I’m not upset about it either.
Also from the article:
But the crowds were out of control. The meeting room holds 40 people, and he was pulling in 250 people. “It became a public safety hazard. The building was overpacked. Staff were being abused, and unable to deal with patron requests.”
…
In 2018, when Dershowitz asked to speak about his book, Hierta put out a plea to her fellow librarians, and Vineyard Haven stepped up and sponsored Dershowitz at the roomier Katharine Cornell Theater in Tisbury, even as he claimed he was being shunned.
According to this article, Chilmark has the 2nd highest home value in the state, with the typical home going for $2.1 million. Tisbury (11 miles away), by contrast, is all the way down at #28, with homes going for a mere $1.04 million. So you can hardly blame him for not wanting to speak in Tisbury, no one from Chilmark would be caught dead there. He may as well be talking to the fentanyl heads in Lawrence.
The guy is an unreserved slimeball, but he’s also a very experienced lawyer and former Harvard law professor. It’s surprising that someone of his stature could end up in such an embarrassing fiasco, but the Schadenfreude is very nice! Maybe he’s getting senile, or maybe his urge to defend MAGAts came from the same dark place as his willingness to defend all those other reprehensible criminals during his law career.
Like Giuliani, he used to be a very respected attorney - emphasis on “used to be.” Once again the Trump Reverse-Midas Effect works its stinky magic.
… and delights foes!
Gift link:
There are an awful lot of caveats in that article. I think I’ll avoid getting my hopes up too much and just wait for the report to come out.
thank you for the gift link - much appreciated!
Here’s another gift link with some more schadenfreude:
trump organization guilty on all counts. whoa!
Trump Org guilty on all 7 counts. This is a gift link to the article in the NYT.
Trump is now officially, not technically but on record, but he’s officially in charge of an actual criminal enterprise. Not in theory. In fact.
Good luck with that one, Republican Party!
This is some tasty tasty Schadenfreude!
