Revealed today, as part of the Dominion case: Donald Trump phoned into Fox News on January 6 (2021)-----but executives there refused to let him speak on-air:
What odds Donald is still seething over this??? Poor, poor Donald…
I’m surprised that this hasn’t come out before. The Committee spent a lot of time charging that “Trump did nothing” for hours during the insurrection. Trying to get on the air to say something, is an interesting fact. I tend to agree that whatever he said would make things worse.
Of course, all he had to do was walk down the the pressroom, where there’s always a camera ready to broadcast anything he wants to say. But he only wanted to talk to Fox. What an ass.
I think you’ve pinpointed a crucial refutation to any claims Trump might make now that he’d phoned into Fox in order to ‘promote peace’ or ‘calm the situation,’ or any other claim of intending to behave responsibly.
If he’d wanted to behave responsibly, as you say, all he had to do was walk a few steps to the pressroom (and call for peace and for the attackers to go home, etc.).
A prudent decision, really – if he speaks exclusively through Fox, that potentially gets them in worse trouble if he uses the platform to continue agitating the lunatics or offends their lunatic audience if he actually tries to calm things down. Maintaining some distance between the President and any given media platform to avoid that sort of problem is part of the point of having a pressroom in the first place.
I managed to miss something in that, but I saw it on the news a couple of days ago and would have posted had my Internet connection stayed reliable. From “Not an American Indian”:
“This is my country, lady,” she said. “I’m not an American Indian, and I don’t like them taking down all the monuments.”
The Qliban twerp does not know the difference between Native Americans and people from India with their descendants.
Also, not all of the monuments are being removed; just those celebrating the racists and traitors.
