I first heard this in the Nero Wolfe novels by Rex Stout, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it were once true, say back in the 1930s or '40s. But some admittedly superficial Googling has only turned up one state law (Virginia) and one city law (Columbus).
I’m glad Bragg’s office is not giving this nasty pressure campaign by Jim Jordan’s garbage committee even a shred of legitimacy by going along with the farce. Bullshit indeed. I hope Bragg’s office keeps calling it out. Many in that clown car of Republican representatives were active participants in Trump’s traitorous efforts to steal the 2020 election. Lowest of the low.
Checking the allegation out, it seems like they thought that some other person was using his SSN to work and they wanted to talk to him, in case he knew something.
I’m not seeing the great terror.
I’d personally guess that this is unrelated to his Congressional testimony and that the agents had no idea who he was. (Though, it does seem to strange that they’d come to his home.)
And he seems to want some kind of credit for not breaking the law and forcing the IRS to do “something something deal something” while he was president.
Pro-Trump organization Women for America First, who hosted Trump’s Jan 6th rally, has lost their tax-exempt status.. According to the story, Charlie Kirk might also be getting a close look.
I’ve been disappointed with his hosting, though I haven’t seen last Thursday’s show yet. I was excited for his week but I’m finding his delivery off-putting.
So far the only guest host I’ve felt was legitimately good was Wanda Sykes. Then second tier (not great but not bad) would include Sarah Silverman, Hassan Minaj and Al Franken. All the rest I’ve actively disliked.
The video above is the only bit of his hosting that I’ve seen, and I thought his idea that Trump’s crimes were now having their own little baby crimes was quite funny.
Agreed. That was the highlight of his first three days, for sure. But even in that clip I find his delivery awkward and off-putting. That was a great line, though.
For me, his best bit by far was the garbage segment where he was in the field instead of at the desk.
