Indeed. But kudos for admitting it. That’s the way it should be.
The Manhattan grand jury investigating the Stormy Daniels case is taking a pre-planned break that covers three religious holidays (Easter, Passover and part of Ramadan). That means any indictment will now wait until the second half of April. It also means that some other prosecutor or investigative body that is working on a different case (Jack Smith in D.C., Fani Willis in Georgia for example) could actually bring the first indictment.
I know some will groan at the delay, but there are several things I like about this. Leaving TFG swinging in the wind, wondering what’s going to happen, is chief among them. A more substantial-seeming case coming first could also be a benefit.
DrudgeReport now has a breaking news banner saying that Trump has been Indicted and is pointing to a brand new New York Times article. Just waiting on confirmation from other news sources too see if this is true but sounds hopeful!
Looks legit.
In keeping with Trumps famous cheer:
LOCK HIM UP!
LOCK HIM UP!
LOCK HIM UP!
LOCK HIM UP!
I hope the next three stack on top of this soon. But I don’t know how that would work.
He and his supporters will of course screen ‘WITCH HUNT!!1!’ But F’em. The time for trying to get those idiots to look at facts and reason passed a long, long time ago.
It’s now on CNN, too:

Well, my source was NPR, and the story is still on their site (from this morning) but it is no longer on the front page.
Anyway, it’s all good.
The grand jury may be taking a break, but apparently they got in the indictment before. So a well deserved break, I guess.
Anyway, it’s all over the NYT and WaPo breaking news pages.
I wonder who Trump has lined up to try to throw under the bus. My guess is ‘everyone’.
Tomorrows meltdown will be spectacular.
The timing seems so obvious now.
Gosh, I’ll hardly sleep tonight for antici
I don’t think we have to wait until tomorrow.
Any signs of protest demonstrations yet?
The NYPD was ready for them last week. I was in Manhattan helping SunLass scout out her preferred university for the fall, and the Trump International Hotel at Columbus Circle had some police vans and barricades prepositioned out front - out of the way of traffic, but ready to go if they were needed.
( Pssst- if we’re now a ‘third world nation’, just where will he be fueling up his jet to head to? )

Some on the right are confused.
In a modern, functioning democracy, the rule of law matters. If you commit a crime you will pay. It doesn’t matter if you used to be the president. You’re not above the law. People who claim that this is an attack on democracy are backwards.
If a person is being investigated for a bunch of crimes and they are in politics, maybe it’s political persecution. Or maybe they just break the law a lot. That’s for the courts to decide.
I honestly believe Trump announced his candidacy because he thought he’d be immune to prosecution. After all, the DOJ publicly deferred some of their actions in regards to Trump investigations until after the recent midterm elections were concluded. They didn’t want to appear partisan and were being cautious. I’m sure Trump thought that they’d do the same if he announced that he was running for president again, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. And of course it wouldn’t affect prosecution from the state level anyway.
I say this because he doesn’t seem to be trying very hard to campaign. I almost forgot he was running. He seems to be going through the motions but not really trying to win. I’m not sure he really wants to be POTUS again, I think he just wants attention and wants to stay out of jail, and campaigning gives him both in his mind.
It amuses me that Republicans in Congress think they can threaten the NYC DA office. They have no control over how states enforce the law. So much for championing states’ rights, huh?
These Thugs and Radical Left Monsters have just INDICATED
Indicated what?
Indicated that…
No one is above the law, Doo Daa!
A left(ist) turn, if he is to be believed…
