A Perfectly Reasonable Amount of Schadenfreude about Things Happening to Trump & His Enablers (Part 1)

Rule. Singular.

Well, it only has one consistent rule (that the rules have to change every time) but each time you play there are rules, it’s just that you make up the rules as you play. But those rules you are making up are still rules.

It is, but would have required me to actually look something up, and the problem with that is I’m lazy.

My countryman I presume? (They were gone from these boards by the time I arrived).

Congratulations to yourself and colleagues on the put downs (or puts down). Is it too late to add another one iLemming got wrong? At least in (UK) technical use, it’s Fetus, NOT Foetus - this I know from having had a strip torn off of me by a medicines agency preclinical assessor some years ago*. (And I’m taking no responsibility for the other directions given in that cite).

(*) - As I recollect from the encounter, she provided unassailable proof that the proper word fetus had been incorrectly Latinified over the years by the addition of the o or the use of the oe ligature. I don’t think I was her first victim.

And watch out for the babysitter flag!

Great! Now, if we could get y’all to stop putting the unnecessary “a” in “paediatrician” and “paedophile” and “aether”…

I keep getting ready to feast on some schadenfreude, but there hasn’t been any lately. :frowning:

I don’t think that’s a request they can honour.

Elaine and her husband Mitch? Those are some sweet, sweet tears.

They would be, if Chao/McConnell were going to be in any hot water over it. I think they’re just going to get off scot-free as usual.

A few Republicans will express concern. Brows may be furrowed for a moment.

That’s all.

I understand that Susan Collins is reported to be troubled.

That’s a level above concerned. Progress!

Some may well be forthcoming. From two hours ago:

To play Devil’s advocate, it’s possible that this is just investigators being thorough, and this ends up being nothing beyond the usual situation with politicians communicating with their supporters about issues, with no collusion involved or foreknowledge of the attacks. Possible. After all, even if there’s ultimately nothing to it this is a dramatic headline for CNN and worth publishing.

As pissed off as I am at Republican lawmakers, I am hoping that there ends up being nothing to it, because I don’t like the idea of elected officials being willing participants and co-conspirators in this. No matter your political leanings that would be harmful to the nation.

(At the same time, if they did, I really hope they’re caught and appropriately punished for it.)

Well, yes. If anyone—investigators or their bosses—holds back because ‘this looks bad,’ then we all lose. Sweeping this under the rug would ‘look bad’ in a way from which we’d never recover.

If any members of Congress or their staffs gave material aid (informational or otherwise) to the Capitol invaders, then they need to be held accountable for their actions.

It’s time for Karl Rove’s face to be eaten by the leopard. “A RINO of the highest order.” Karl Rove! I wonder what he did to piss Trump off?

“Karl Rove has been losing for years, except for himself.”

Is…is this a fat joke?

Gee, I wonder if this has anything to do with Little Lord Haw-Hawley’s hyperventalations about the FBI’s access to cell records associated with the crime scene…

I really hope that there is something that shows, beyond a doubt, that Hawley is guilty of a crime.
